It's funny how the commentators are praising Andy Black's play when he had the AJ. he hit top pair and then the nuts on the turn. he raised phil who was bluffing with complete air. so what makes this an exceptional play?
pros like ivey do not make bluffs just to look "macho" on the table. there is always a reason behind their actions and mostly, it is based on player reads (i.e. what cards they put their opponents on) and their position with respect to betting action on the table. more often than not, a player who checks behind you is weak and can always be moved out of the pot with a substantial bet if you are last to act.
wolf folding the kings was just embaressingly bad play he should try another hobby. somebody with some talent couldve had his place in the tourney. what a joke
black could have had a lot more chips there... y did he re raise when he had nuts...on turn.. if he wanted to trap he should have just check and let ivey do the betting... but i like ivey hes my boy.... my top 10 player would be 1 Phil ivey 2 Alen Cunningham 3 Phil hellmuth - i put him on 3rd coz hes childish but great player 4 Patick Antonius 5 Daniel Negraneau 6 Chino Rheem 7 Tony Guaga 8 Johnny Chen 9 Howard Lederer 10 Jesus Ferguson
I remember watching this on FSN Pittsburgh. They only run the first 30 minutes, then with the other 30 minutes they interrupt it too show sports news, & you never see it again. They did that with every episode. I stopped trying to watch it after a couple of episodes because of that.
Thanks for the uploads. Now I can see ENTIRE episodes & will watch it to the end.
Phil ivey is way overrated. Now people are calling his bluffs. Hes not in daniel negreanus, phil helmuths, or alan cunninghams league. He is a average player that hits big hands. is more on the lucky side then skill side. I watched him make a lot of bad betting mistakes a,k,queen, 10 on the board and he had what 2,8. You bluff at the pot twice? I can see once but once the guys called your done to many big hands that can produce from that. Phil ivey plays like mike matisow just no temper.
there are a lot of reasons behind ivey's "bluffs". the one with the 2 8 was done since he was in the dealer button and was trying to steal the blinds and/or antes. if black did not have good cards, he would have folded to ivey's raise pre-flop. second, he had position after the flop and black's check apparently perceives weakness that's why ivey took a stab at the pot even with nothing. again, if black did not hit on the flop he would have folded. pros can fire 3 bullets at the pot if needed.

How are Tony G and Chino Rheem on there? Replace them with TJ and Seidel and you'll have a pretty good list.

Wow, Phil bluffs a lot but some of them are just too easy to read.

n no 1 gets so far only with luck, u gotta be good to get there.

Phil is a good enough to player to know that that dangerous boards can often be bluffed on.
Also his bluffs set up a lot of people when he has a powerhouse.
