this is great info. i heard on the radio that people were foraging in cities (parks, green spaces). doesn't car exhaust and pollution affect the nutrients of the wild plants that are found in a city?
@ShelleyFrankling Plants collected from urban areas (wild or cultivated) do take up pollutants into their systems (depending on what toxins are present). Different toxins are stored in different places in the plant (i.e., depending on the toxin, the leaves may be safe but the tubers are not, etc.). It is always best to forage away from industry, roads, sewage, etc. All things equal, wild plants are safer as they supply more nutrients, helping the body defend itself from environmental toxins.
Domestic greens, veggies and fruits are very healthy if you choose wisely. Problem is most people just dont eat them!
