So am I right in ascertaining from this discourse that you don't believe in the efficacy of DnB in increasing fluid intelligence?
Also, I'm not sure if you're aware, but there have been recent studies that haven't demonstrated an improvement in Gf from training working memory (not the dnb task). Any thoughts on why this is (considering working memory, Gf correlates)?
@cool2bwichu briefly,I'd say that there are too many confounding variables. the basic science behind cog training isn't well established. no one knows how long to train, everyone only assumes longer is better. how many minutes per day, what kind of training to do to and what the effects of the training are. there are so many dials to turn when designing a cog training study that its pretty difficult to repeat results. I'd definitely like to cover this in more depth in a video though, good question
@SuperAkihabara@SuperAkihabara Thanks for the response. I think you'd be interested in a google group floating around here that deals specifically with the area of brain training. Some really interesting folk who've dabbled in some pretty cool studies can be found there along with countless accounts of people who've used the DnB task groups. google. com/group/brain-training
Also, i'm not sure if you've heard of meditation as a form of cognitive therapy but if you have, what'dya think?
@SuperAkihabara Hi, I've been using the N-back training for a while now, and after 5-back I've been relaying on my intuition instead of my working memory. My goal is to train my working memory, not my intuition. Is there anything wrong?
You need to train your brain to stop moving your hands around... you seem to lack any control of them it seems
