  • I love this music..I am touched ...

  • I love this music..I am touched ...

  • belíssimo

  • Soothing........heavenly........

  • A PIECE TO MELT THE COLDEST OF HEARTS.

  • @Mr606055 You said it perfectly. This music was perfect in Somewhere In Time...

  • Christopher, we miss you.

  • THANK YOU !!!

  • @r2d3rx the main goal of music like this is for the aural experience, not the visual. So close your eyes, stop whining, and enjoy this piece that 65Seasons kindly uploaded.

  • A wonderful , emotional piece of music . the clarity of this recording is truly wonderful -- Thanks for posting it .

Who is the musician at the piano ? and the orchestra ?

  • @PobletteCaro I had to translate this, but you did an excellent job of explaining the movie plot. At first I thought this was Italian, found it to be Spanish. Thanks Poblette

  • This piece of music and the Supermarine Spitfire - the two most beautiful things created by the hand of man.

  • sheer bliss!

  • É lindo demais.

  • This piece is one, just one, of the reasons why Rach is at the top of my list of favorite composers of the Romance era. I know that many classical music snobs sneer at ultra- romantic pieces such as this one, and perhaps I too would prefer Bach, Brahms, and Mozart had I been trained in the musical arts myself. But I wasn't, and therefore I will always choose beautiful melodies over pieces composed according to the classic rules of composition by famous composers of the pre-Romance era.

  • Beautiful! Thank you!

  • This is one of my favourites of Rachmaninov, but I always wonder how this can be a variation on the theme used in the other parts of the Rhapsody.

  • Absolutely bloody beautiful .

  • ¡¡¡ Qué recuerdos !!!

  • i love this piece ever since i saw somewhere in time x

  • a song of HOPE, does anyone know what that means anymore!

  • I love the movie it reminds me of a special person from my schooldays who i have never met since we left in 1980 the year the movie came out. Maybe are paths will cross again........................

  • This always makes me tear up, thinking of what happened to Christopher Reeve. So unfair.

  • @jillgivler why unfair ? guess its sad , but one cant tell if its unfair i assume .

  • so uplifting, awesome, thanks for posting

  • Love this so much.......

  • Rara beleza.

  • This piece of music is so inspiring, the best ever. Rachmaninoff completed this in his usual magnificent fashion. Cheers.

  • We used this song in our play of Little Women during Beth's death scene. The song really made the scene.

  • stop talking....words cannot express emotions like this

  • @nch09snow Yeah...it´s called "music".

  • This is beauty in its purest form

  • ....Rachmaninoff was happiest---when he was saddest--think about it

  • @valdengo1 He was Russian, dear. That explains it. :-)

  • ..matchless perfection

  • It's almost like in heaven. Amazing !

  • why wasn't this song featured in Fantasia?

  • xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxi just love it xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • I LOVE THIS MELODY with all my HEART!!*

  • we dance to this in my ballet class this is so relaxing i love it

  • For a truly exquisite interpretation of this piece, see "Moira Shearer, James Mason, 1953". It is from the film The Story of Three Loves. Moira Shearer is the ballerina whose dance enthralls James Mason.

  • @elmfork52 The movie you refer to is the first time I ever heard this. I was a freshman in college. Have loved it ever since.

  • 65 reasons why this piece is so passionate... The ears, and the heart will do all the explaining! Most exquisite piece of my somewhere in time!

  • Incredibly beautiful. Enough said.

  • DE LO MAS HERMOSO COMPUESTO JAMAS PARA PIANO UTILIZADO COMO TEMA MUSICAL PARA UN SIN FIN DE PELICULAS

  • gracias por compartir la belleza y la emocion

  • Ever since I heard this piece from "Somewhere in Time," I have loved it. I'm so glad I've found such a faithful production of it. It sounds almost identical to the movie score.

  • esta pieza tiene el poder real de evocar y transportar a lugares del pasado, simplemente magica, una de las mas bellas composiciones que he escuchado, fantastica, el amor hecho musica.

  • Just heard this for the first time yesterday, my skin tingled when I was listening. I don't know why but each time I listen I get a lump in my throat...

  • Oooooooooooo My Soul!! I'm WEEPING!!! I SO love this, all of it..ty ty TY for uploading this for us..OMG...

  • Un gran tema de la película "Pide al tiempo que vuelva" o en ingles "Somewhere in time". Con Christopher Reeve (qepd) y Jane Seymour. Emociones indescriptibles al escuchar esta pieza, espero les guste.

  • It even found its way into Groundhog Day.

  • My husband and I are totally in love with this movie-music. We loved it so much, that we actually had the plaque on our grandfather clock read: Somewhere in Time--it was perfect!

  • This is the song im going to use to propose i love it!!!!

  • What an amazing song! A classic of which people will never tire. All of the music from "Somewhere In Time" is fabulous.

  • Maravilloso!!!!

  • Thank you for posting one of the best musical compositions of all time.

Did I enjoy it. Yes I did. Your cloud video is just a brilliant touch.

  • This composition speaks to my soul...each and every time I hear...It is my favorite piece of music ever...thank you <3

  • It brings tears to my eyes..........beautiful.

  • hells to the yes this is the best

  • This music moves my soul....what art to have composed this...what a gift...

  • I close my eyes and just listen,,,,,,

  • Pity you didn't add the photos of the royal family that were shot in cold blood that caused the composer to write this epilogue to a beautiful family, still related to Prince Philip, the Quen's husband.

  • @tomjgs Too gruesome for this venue, don't you think? By the way, The Russian Empress who was murdered with the final Tsar, Nicholas and their beautiful children was blood-related to practically ALL the members of Europe's royalty. Alexandra was Queen Victoria's daughter. She was therefore related to QE-2, as well...who's, after all, Prince Philip's cousin. Watch the clips on Queen Victoria posted on You-Tube. I agree this music is GORGEOUS & it wonderfully memorializes the Russian royalty.

  • I got that song on my iPhone app called "MagicPiano".

  • The vocabulary in a dozen languages can not express the feelings that this piece engenders.

  • @MarcellusTheGreen I couldn't have said it better :-)

  • @MarcellusTheGreen :D good use of "engenders".

  • @MarcellusTheGreen

I agree with you, this is so very beautiful.

  • @MarcellusTheGreen I agree.

  • I'll be walking down the aisle to this as it was my nan's favourite film and composition, and mine too... beautiful xxx

  • The first time I remember hearing this gorgeous music was at a winter Olympics. It was skated to by the Russian pair The Protopopovs It was mesmerizing and it's one of my all time favs. Thanks for posting.

  • This music and the movie will always be connected. I only wish I could go back in time and meet some people I've always wanted to know who are no longer here.

Every time I watch the movie I hope he's able to go back at the end, but alas, he meets her in the clouds. A very lovely, beautiful movie. Thank you for your post!

  • Ahhhhh.... Beautiful. This is not mere music, this is a masterpiece by a true artist. When I listen to this song I see that there is still beauty and purity left in this world. Rochmaninoff gave a great gift to the world by composing this piece. What is even greater is he gave it to the world, instead of keeping it for himself. Thank You for posting this beautiful piece of musical art.

  • This must be the most beautiful classical music piece ever composed! It's breathtakingly beautiful. I don't think there's a proper description in the English language to do it justice. Superb? Doesn't do it.

  • @paulkate72 Totally agree with everything you've said.Very few pieces of music can give you so many emotions

and still give you goosebumps every single time you play it.

  • @TheLucavialli - Thanks for your endorsement here. Clearly, we have a love of this music in common and I like to think we have good taste too!! Cheers, and best to you...

  • @paulkate72 It is supernatural, extraodinary in it's beauty, it's the taste of angels tears, and the cashmere carress of a mother with her child on a soft Spring afternoon, sunlight and birds, oceans depth and Heavens all rejoicing in love's effort. And even then I feel nowhere near to describing the beauty of this piece of music.

  • @Kittysafe - Thank you for your comments. You've used words there that paint a canvas of beauty, tranquillity, harmony and everything worthwhile. Nice to know that someone else appreciates this piece.

As I've said before, we humans can produce music that's near-divine - why can't we treat our fellow humans even partway approaching that?

  • Rachmaninoff dedicated this to Paganini, because Paganini was a violinist that was so good in Rachmaninoff 's day that it was said Paganini had made a deal with the devil.

    MrBob

  • Where did you you're amazing cloud footage? It's beautiful. Love this music piece. One of my all time favorites from one of my all time favorite movies. Thanks for posting it. :D

  • @MrsEmmaPeel07 - Thanks... the footage was from a flight over an area about a couple of hundred miles south of Manila, with the peak of Mt. Banahaw visible from a distance.

  • @65Seasons i prefer music videos which only contain the music title + artist and NO further text of any sort! The clouds are great to watch, but any kind of textual information distracts from the experience of the music.

  • simply incredible, makes me cry. would love this to be played at my wedding

  • another piece of Masterpiece....*sighs appreciatively*...

  • Had this piece of Music at my Wedding. Wonderful and so was the Movie.

  • @65Seasons ... Ah ha ... another one of your lovely gems to enjoy... the film 'Somewhere in Time' with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, is one of my all time fav's..

  • Thanks for postiong this! Never was a more beautiful song ever written.

  • I think it was Bach who said it's a sin to listen only to some parts of a whole piece.

  • Jane Seymour is breathtaking in this movie. Christopher Reeves is very handsome. With the music. I cried watching Somewhere in time.

  • Jayne Seymour could not have been prettier and with Rachmaninov and Paganini's 18th what more can you ask for?
