I agree with you about per cooking the peppers and onions but im wondering why you chose to use an electric skillet? you could have just used the main cooking vessel browned all the peppers and then added the rest of the ingredients. Im not trying to be judgmental just trying to save you some time, electricity, and dishes!

You know what I've always wondered? How do they get fat free sour cream?

If you think about it, cream is the fat that has been skimmed off of milk. Seeing as cream is almost all fat, how can you have fat free sour cream? It's like having fat free butter, it just doesn't make sense.

There actually IS fat free butter. It is a spray that is flavored like butter but is mostly water. Fat free sour cream is mostly skim milk that has a coagulant added to make it more solid.

Paper plates = quick and easy. You think it is bad for the environment, but I say it's a toss up. If you use a "real plate", you need to wash it afterwards. Washing that dish will take hot water, and soap. The manufacturing process for soap may be harmful to the environment. To make "hot" water run from your tap, either electricity or gas is needed to heat the water. Electricity runs the pump to supply the water. Natural resources are depleted and pollution is created to do this.

Now, factor in the fact that phosphates and other pollutants are going to have to either be pumped away (more electric), or will leech into the ground due to the rinsed away soap. Don't forget that we had to use up natural resources and pollute the air just to make the electricity needed to do all of this in the first place. That paper plate isn't looking so bad now, is it?
