There is an extremely small chance that it will appear. you will need to kill all of the chocobos in the area go 2 screens over and return. Repeat this for hours. maybe it will only take 15 minutes if your really luck but it usually takes about 4 hours. U need to cast Stona on the chocobo's aswell

You don't have to zone out 2 screens. There are 2 groups of chocobos. When you have the select menu of which target to attack, kill the top 2 and "break" the bottom one. Then, go to the other group of chocobos, repeat the process. Now, after each chocobo dies, when you run over to the other group, a new one will respawn, without leaving the map screen. When the chocobo dies of "break" you don't have to zone out for a respawn. I tried this technique and got a lv99 in about 1-1 1/2 hours.

im proud of this tho- On ffx i gots all the sphere grid dun, replaced every attribute node with a better one (EG.replace hp +200 with a hp + 300 sphere) got all celestial weapons. beat all enemys dun monster arena dun all dark aeons n beat penance. n they all dead powerful for example Yuna takes of 99999hp jus with her staff. is that gud u rekon. im pretty proud. lol x

To continue the reply for the lv.99 chocobo if you just petrify these 2 sets of 3 choccys there is a 1/256 chance that the lv.99 chocobo will replace 1 of them, if it doesn't just keep checking and petrifying these 6 chocobos till it appears, i found my first after 70 hellish hours and my second after just 1 hour lol if u have any questions ask anytime and gratz for the spear in the Henne mines i don't have 2 z.spears i just got at least 1 of everything,including 3 Danjuros =)

OK no prob it's not your fault it's the Guidebook's as for the Lv.99 choccy you must have cleared the storyline up to Great Crystal at Giruvegan,to get the treaty-blade, then head to Haulo Green at Ozmone plains and kill at least 6 chocobo,, in this area there are 2 sets of 3 then move 2 screens away,if the Choccy didn't appear PETRIFY the chocobos from now on so you don't have to leave this area,the chocobos reappear if you just travel between these 2 sets of 3 chocobos and petrifying them :)

No offense, but FYI is possible to get as many zodiac spears as you want from a chest in the henne mines,you can open this chest and you STILL can get the standard zodiac spear in Nabudis,it's NOT one of the 4 forbidden chests, it's just an altenative method to get the spear with an overall chance 0,1%(or 1/1000)
