I wonder how many North Koreans truly believe the state propaganda. It's all been going on long enough that there are children of people who were children of people who were born into it and have never known anything different, but still, can you really eliminate all independent tendency towards critical thought?

About 90% of the footage showing how "bad and evil" North Korea is is from this period. Yes, North Korea is still hungry, but they're not a starving, destitute wasteland. Now, just because there are many documentaries about something doesn't mean they're true. By that logic, North Korean documentaries would have to be true too.

Deaths on both sides would be huge, possibly millions, and therefore it would be a no sell to the American people, UN or any other country for that matter.
