  • I like the idea of adding the beet to pink it up. what is poha and khas khas? English equivalent name?

  • @SisterSunnshine

    Hi

Yes, I always try to use beet in many ways. Poha is beaten rice and Khas Khas is poppy seeds. These two ingredients easily available at any Indian grocers. And if you wish, you omit them and still you can make great cutlets. Enjoy!

  • Gujju angrezi...:)

  • @coolanukool

    Hi

    Thanx for sharing.

  • what is the brand name of the griddle and what all indian dishes can be made on it?Why did you use rawa for deep frying?

  • @hareramable

    Hi

It's PRESTO brand griddle. I use it often to toast my bread for sandwich and make kind of grill sandwich. I also make Indian dishes such as Dosas, Bhakri, thepla and many more. I use rawa for deep frying so that it doesn't hold oil. As I said in video that usually bread crumbs are used but bread crumbs absorb lot of oil and doesn't drain out oil completely. Still questions feel free to ask. Thanx

  • @SuperVeggieDelight Apparently using crushed up Corn Flakes drain the oil far better than bread and taste good too (though I've never tried it!).

  • I enoyed all your shows, thanx for sharing, you're a great cook!

  • @kolkattaindia

  • @villagebelle do you know exactly which brands? I have never heard of this. I think American organic ketchup is vegetarian :-)

  • @akemp7777

Hi you are right. Organce ketchup is indeed vegetarian. I read today on my ketchup and I didn't find anything wrong with it. But yes, honestly I don't like taste of ketchup much but once in a while, I eat it. I usually use hot and sour sauce for my sandwich even or use homemade tomato chutney. Thanx everybody for sharing.

  • Yeah, I looked it up and it seems to be a rumor but better safe than sorry, especially with so many alternatives available, will inform my bf who is Jain.

  • omg! I did not know that. Thank you for sharing. Will switch to Indian ketchups soon.

  • Hi, Bhavna! I just wanted to say I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your cultural cooking with us!

  • @XxDarkRaverxX

Hi Thank you and keep enjoying. New recipes has to come yet. I am going to introduce soon more excited recipes that I learned recently during my India trip.

  • Heinz and American ketchups are said to have Natural Flavors, one of them is beef-blood for coloring.

  • @villagebelle

    Ooh!

Good to know I just made today my own tomato chutney which taste and look better than anything else. Will share video soon Thanx

  • @villagebelle No that is not correct. Catsup/Ketchup is a Vegan Kosher product. Although there is nothing wrong with buying other versions other than American brands. Tomatoes, SuperVeggieDelight... :) It's a rumor.

    Gerald

  • Hi Bhavna - very nice. Watch out for ketchup - American brands use beef-blood for coloring, this has been researched and confirmed. Use Indian ketchup Kissan or Maggies, etc.

  • @villagebelle

    Hi Thanx for sharing
