sir jared im having some problem with my nikon D3100 or i guess with my pc when im shooting RAW. whem i transfer my files in my pc i cant open them directly or open them directly on photoshop. kindly help me please since you are a nikon user. thanks
Jared the d5100 has the HDR on it wow you were close to nailing that one. who knows it might have been considered for the D7000 but they decided not to use it at the last minute. again good call.
Hey Jared, Just found out about you from the join photoshoot and edit video you did with Gavin Hoey. Nikon guy? I like you already. Instant subscribe! Peace... Larry.

@IDAlecious Yes. It's a bargain bin consumer point-and-shoot. The whole thing is made from elephant ears and only takes one picture before it urinates on your children and explodes.
The VR on the 85mm F1.4 will be useful for videos, Nikon is probably looking further ahead because more and more people are probably going to be shooting videos with that lens since it has amazing bokeh.
soon, there will be no "craftsmanship" like skill to taking photos. nowadays its all too simple. Takes the shine out of using an SLR. might as-well buy an iphone lol
Im thinking there will be a D700x before a D90 replacement. I do agree on the D3x being replaced before the D4. I think Im just hoping for a D4 soon so I can buy it.
Good post. I think Nikon really needs to get on the video bandwagon. Canon is eating them up. I think you are right about the D4. It will be a couple of years before the D3s is replaced. They are just now in stores again after many outlets had them out of stock.
I'm with you on the HDR.I hope it doesn't get added to any DSLRs, its fine if they add it to the P&S or bridge cameras, but keep that crap out of the higher end cameras! If a pro wants to do HDR he knows how without an in-camera utility. 1080P is over due, just to keep the Canon fan boys quiet, because I personally don't use the video mode, much... I would like to see a newer SB-600 flash, plus firmware updates for cameras already out, like the D90 that needs an in-camera pixel remapping tool.
Also, as you stated... Better high ISO noise reduction would be nice, but I think the trump card would be in-camera VR! just my 2 cents, but why would they do that when they can charge you for it on every single lens?!? Seriously though, i would love to see a new camera with bluetooth and updated SB-600and SB-900 with bluetooth capabilities, the wireless is nice, but very limiting.... Ok, I will stop rambling...
Yeah, I think there will be a D90 replacement, D700 and they're probably working on D300 of some sort, perhaps? I think they are definitely in the making of a 85mm f/1.4G or something like what they did with the 50mm f/1.4.
@danelovell Thanks for your comment, i know the difference between the two i was more making the point that they did not have a new 85 at least 5 years ago that was vr1.
some cameras (as the comments below state) already have hdr. I agree it looks a bit guff in camera. the much better idea is just expanding the dynmaic range of the sensor rather than trying to make hdr images. the fuji s5 has 13 stops of dynamic range, the nikon d300 has 8. big difference. Just wish fuji would bring out a s6pro
i know you dont like hdr but if the camera just helped you decide how many frames you need to capture the image and then let you process it in photomatix pro or wherever that would be cool.
You were right about the D4 release date. lol

This is to all the American Douche Bags out there:
NIKON is pronounced 'Neekon' as in 'bee' and not 'Nykon' as in 'pie'.
Ask any Japanese speaker please.

Ohh man, your'se so right. Flickr is so full of crappy blown out HDR. Just hate that. It's actually hard to find really good HDR images

VRI is about 3 stops and VRII is about 4 stops. Like the first 18-200 was one of the first VRII lenses, the new 18-200 is also a VRII. Look it up.
