  • If Carl hadn't become a scientist he could easily of had a career in film. Like doing the voice on theatrical trailers. Or maybe he could of been the host on The Running Man.

  • I just watched the first minute of this video with "Your hand in mine" by explosions in the sky as background music... Beautiful.

  • It's sad that this is upload almost 4 years ago and it's only at 616,463. Amazing show and book.

  • Sagan was the man.

  • I wish more men like him existed. ♥

  • @waffletard

    why not women?

  • @ar2110302 I had more in mind a prospective partner. :)

  • I want to know the god damn truth!

  • I have another question. How the fuck is he floating around like that?

  • @itierney of course it's the hand of god moving him around, duh!

  • that is a good video, that guy is a smart man. the problem is that he is assuming people look at 'god' and 'the universe' as 2 seperate things

  • @correll28 lol and you think people consider them identical... pantheism is too sophisticated of a belief system for most people... and even if so his contention still stands(the 1st minute of this vid)...

  • @CambridgeHeights i sure hope your trolling...

  • @toadster84 You probably worship that little aspie, don't you? Billions and Billions

  • His voice is so cool!

Almost as amazing as the man himself.

  • What I love about Sagan is that unlike other figureheads for atheism (who I also admire a great deal) he has no anger at his opponents, or any ulterior agenda. He was just curious about the truth of the cosmos. Here he is considering the wisdom in Hinduism and dismissing the usefulness of the 'Big Bang' theory, just trying to answer that basic human question of where we came from... and sharing what he comes up with.

  • @CrazySw3de Thanks for that. :)

  • These are brilliant very accessible

  • Whats the evidence for Creationism and Genesis, provide it and we can join in, on the. Ridicule of people who know otherwise.

  • sagan was known for smoking the occasional weed. he must have been stoned to come up with this foolishness. did he not know of the growing evidence for creation and genesis?

  • @DebunkingEvolution

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    MY SIDES

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

    oh wait, you were serious?

    Let me laugh harder. LMFAO

Enjoy your church pamphlet science bro.

  • @DebunkingEvolution who created the evidence? the evidence always was. just open your eyes, and accept the fact that you are god and, god, ALWAYS was.

i am me and you are we

  • @MrButtera You are God so you created everything around us! woah im impressed.

  • the big bang theory proves that universe didn't always exist. There was definitely a beginning. He just contradicted himself.

  • @osman2793 Your dumb. Do you see the word "theory" in the phrase "big bang THEORY". There is a reason why it is called that and not the "big bang fact". It is only a theory and a possibility, Sagan is stating many theories and possibilities. One being that there was a beginning. Second that it always has been,

    Dumbass

  • lol that seems the must logical answer ive heard yet... that the cosmos expands and then contracts to another big bang...and how big are we really??? look at the atom the cosmos could be even smaller to the atom to something else, if you get what im saying.

  • Carl Sagan > Your God!

  • A wise man said "If God had not created Man, surely Man would have created God."

Does life have a purpose, or for that matter does the Universe have a purpose? These are questions that neither Atheists or Believers can answer. Let's all at least try to get along. Creation does imply a creator but that doesn't necessarily mean an old man with a beard sitting in judgment. The order of the Universe is a mystery, as God is a mystery. Please feel free to believe without impinging upon others.

  • @randy109 God is not a mystery anymore than an imaginary friend is a mystery. It's hard to get along with people who shove creationism into school books and demand equal time for an antiquated sadomasochistic belief.

  • @randy109 i used to humor theists as you say but i no longer let them spout off their fairytales in my presence.

i stopped tolerating religious folks as soon as i realized that it is possible, in this day and age, to acquire the knowledge for the creation of atomic weapons and still believe you will receive 72 virgins when you blow yourself up with the infidels.

it's a scary thought, but a very true notion that belief leads to action. therefore crazy belief will eventually lead to crazy action.

  • Cool that religion makes the most sense instead of we are all going to hell lol thats just a fear tectic who ever falls for it is weak in the heart.Gotta say they really have faith instead of fear :D

  • The first minute of this video should be required viewing for all human beings!

  • @tp19361 as well as the last 40 sec

  • "God" = Universe.

  • I bet he was a blast in Religious education classes.

  • @movement26 played the drums very well for the animals

  • He smoked weed all the time...fact. So you can be assured that he was deep thinking about his topics

  • @bermudaguy1 He did smoke, but high or not he was deep thinking.

  • we made it all up, we knew nothing and only recently have we began to doubt god's existence, due to scientific reasoning, but with so many religions out there, they are all possibly wrong, science shows now we are not far from what we consider animals, we are animals, get over it, we are just more evolved. look at all primates, lol we look pretty damn too much like one another, o but my bad we come from a guy named adam

  • Comment removed

  • if you take the time to consider what is really going on, you must admit that god is nothing but a joke

  • hey dumbfucks, there is no god. put the bible/quaran down!

  • @fokGoogol Does a god have to be either loving or hateful? Can't he be somewhere inbetween?

    "Wat IS a god anyway?"

    Good question.

  • People believe in god because they fear death. They can't come to terms with the thought of non-existence.

  • @bewertow69 I believe that is an incorrect statement. I do not believe in any of the Abrahamic religions, however, all speak of a paradise post-death (If one adhered to God's Laws in the current life), a life uncomparable to this, thus they should not fear death, though many unfortunately do. Even if one does not believe in a Heaven or Hell, some form consciousness after death is undeniable.

  • @iAnnunaki ". . . some form [of] consciousness after death is undeniable." This doesn't follow from what you said before, however, why would you believe it "undeniable"? I've denied it, therefore it is deniable. Not all thought systems have accepted an afterlife, making it a deniable hypothesis. Why don't you deny it? Do you at least slightly doubt it? And how could we define "some form of consciousness"? I like your post, but I must say, we don't have much to go on if we want to accept it.

  • @trans4mdIn2u I do not have an answer as to how we could define "some form of consciousness," only speculation. Perhaps identity is annihilated, but some sort of being exists, a higher self that is not affiliated with the ego? Or maybe identity does survive, and we begin a new life else where. My post on your channel, describes NDEs, but perhaps true death is nothing close to the NDE accounts recorded, and is something unmeasurable. I hope one day we find out the truth because it is somewhere

  • @iAnnunaki

I enjoyed reading your comment, even though I believe the opposite. My biggest problem is that, your personality and memories are PHYSICALLY stored in your brain (a physical thing too). A "soul" cannot hold your personality and memories because they require electricity and a storage medium to function (a brain). If there is such a thing as an afterlife / soul, it would not contain your memories or even your personality.

  • @ov3rdos311

'A "soul" cannot hold your personality and memories '

Maybe it is the other way around, we can only speculate,

but it is an intresting hypothesis and very logical approach :-)

  • @iAnnunaki Consciousness after death is undeniable? Prove it.

  • @bewertow69 Empirical evidence compiled by Raymond Moody, the individual who coined the term Near-Death Experience, Kenneth Ring, the individual who analyzed NDEs of the blind (even those blind from birth), and Bruce Greyson, who categorized NDEs. Now this evidence suggests consciousness after death exists, I follow the evidence even if it does conflict with the predominant 'physical' worldview. Authentic science does not disregard anamalous data because it conflicts with some worldview.

  • @iAnnunaki You know, I read your post and they seemed quite sensible but since I had never heard of any of these people that you mentioned I looked them up and they all turned out to be total quacks. I don't know the nature of the studies that they did and I would be interested to learn more about the actual data that RIng and Moody came up with. However, it does hurt their credibility when they also accept the validity of UFO's (RIng) and "mirror gazing" for ghosts (Moody).

  • Carl Sagan is one of the best.

  • Nature herself has imprinted on the minds of all the idea of God

I think people need to stop arguing about God so fruitlessly because we simply don't know yet how everything came to be the way it is today and you don't have to take a word for everything that is written in Bible even many christians like myself don't realy read the bible but we do believe in basic ideas of christianity like love and kindness etc. So please stop this really foolish argue

  • @skuterixas91 wtf? none of that made sense. The only thing worse than someone who believes in god and reads what they believe to be his written word is someone who believes in god on even /less/ faith.

  • @skuterixas91 prove a god exists or gtfo and stfu

  • Who;s to say that God isn't a 4th dimensional being that is a scientist himself. The bible is about perspective. None of us were there when it was written and who know's what kind of context it was written in. There are good lessons in there and to say that those people had any idea of the workings of the universe is absurd. It's perspective. Now, stop arguing.

  • @sparkinton Why did "God" write so many books with different perspectives? To say the Bible could be the only book from God would be absurd.

  • @PitchBlack696 God didn't write those books, Man did. I agree, it would be absurd to assume there were only one book written in some kind of supposed divine inspiration or direction or as a result of some kind of "vision" as it could be said. I never said there was only one. In fact, I believe they are all pretty much the same in root when you get down to it. Perhaps you've misunderstood me or I've represented my opinion poorly.

  • @PitchBlack696 The religious mindset need certainty, not sense.

It's odd how few people have the basic strength to cope with uncertainty, or the thought they might be wrong - still less to go looking for answers. Mankind seems an emotionally weak species.

  • @sparkinton The bible is a work of fiction, nothing more.

  • @MysteryDrive I never said it wasn't. I only think its intelligent to consider the possibility that it isn't. I think I plainly said the book was written by man.

  • @MysteryDrive I am basically trying to be polite in saying that the book (and any other religious text) was written by men who think they were spoken to by God... they were cavemen (so to speak) with a very small grasp of the world, much less the universe or where God could be from. We have no way of truly understanding their perspective and context in which they wrote the texts any more than they understood the inspiration - fiction or not. Again, it is perspective and even if its fiction..

  • @MysteryDrive ...then there are still good moral lessons to learn in the book(s) and arguing over it isn't going to solve the mystery any more than considering the possibilities. "It is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without having to accept it" - Aristotle.

  • Comment removed

  • @MysteryDrive That is your opinion and you are open to it and I can appreciate it. I happen to agree with you. The bible is full of metaphors, once again, written by man. Maybe you should look into what I've said instead of trying to argue with me.

  • @sparkinton Reading the bible is not the way to truth. Today, we have real science, we have given up the myths of empiricism, justificationism, fallibilism, instrumentalism, and managed to gather in true knowledge of reality. Reading the bible places you at the authoritative stage of knowledge, which is quite primitive and useless.

  • @MysteryDrive holy bullshit

  • @MysteryDrive... I think you are so busy trying to find someone to argue with that you are overlooking that I might possibly agree with you. That is the problem with both sides of the field... too busy trying to fight over right and wrong vs what is really in common with both. The fact that there is SOMETHING bigger out there than us mere humans. I think I've pretty much said I think its all metaphors written by mankind. What is there to argue about?

  • @sparkinton I don't agree with you. You are on the side of ignorance and superstition, while I am on the side of science and reason.

  • @MysteryDrive I beg your pardon but you are an idiot if that is what you've read and translated from what i've said. I absolutely am an advocate for science but, I also have respect and understanding of the beliefs of others. It doesn't mean I believe it but, its good to entertain the thought.

  • @MysteryDrive and plus, if someone finds comfort in reading the bible... who in the hell are you to take that from them with you infinite wisdom and enlightenment? Your opinion is wise but, you are far too judgmental about it.

  • @sparkinton The bible is flat-out wrong. All political evil in this world, including the mass murders committed in the name of religion, is the result of ignorance. Who are you to suggest that people should cling to such idiocy as the bible instead of reality?

  • @MysteryDrive I don't disagree with you on the fact that most evils in the world are in fact caused by the interpretation of religion by mankind. However, I do know that it has brought comfort to people through their humble interpretations of it. who are YOU to take away the legitimacy of someone getting something good out of it? You are argumentative for the sake of your OPINION. I may agree with it but to someone else its an opinion and you can't deny that no matter how much you disagree.

  • @sparkinton Unlike you, I am not a primate who believes that knowledge is justified by some "authority," which is what you are adhering to. There is nothing true in the bible. It is false. Nothing good comes from believing in falsehoods. All evil is based on ignorance. Rather than see people squander their lives in ignorance, I promote the idea that people should seek real knowledge. Who are you to tell people to take comfort in lies?

  • @MysteryDrive Youre an idiot. I agree with you. I'm just humble enough to admit there may be .01% our feeble minds don't know and im not rude enough to say that someone elses feelings are un-real just because i dont feel them. Get it? Ass.

  • @sparkinton "The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one." -George Bernard Shaw

  • @khfsu1 Please... re-read what i've said. I agree. It just isnt up to me as another human being to take the legitimacy of someone elses feelings away because *I* have received enlightenment and know better. Good grief. People are so ready to argue and so unwilling to absorb.

  • I was here.

  • Carl Sagan > My Dog > God!

  • Comment removed

  • By now 111 dislikes....mmmm 111 stupids¡¡¡¡

  • The Gandavyuha Sutra (part of the larger Avatamsaka Sutra) is astonishing in particular in that not only does it posit infinite time spans and cycles of universes, but it also posits different dimensions and alternate multiple universes, indeed an infinite number interpenetrating into each other. In the final chapter, the spiritual searcher Sudhana is given a glimpse of the infinity of time and space. I would recommend HH the Dalai Lama's book the Universe in a Single Atom for more about this

  • Carl Sagan's analysis of comparative cosmological theories is excellent. His inclusion of Eastern religious metaphysical speculative thought finally into the forray of our understandings of the universe alongside modern science is admirable. However he is wrong in saying the Hindu tradition is the only other religion with comparative time scales. Mahayana Buddhism theorizes the same cycles of birth and death of universes, in works such as the Kalachakra Tantra and notably the Gandavyuha Sutra

  • Entropy happened before that. The Universe collapsed and then expanded again. The real question is. How many times has it done that?

  • Vangelis' music and Sagan's brilliant poetic speech makes Cosmos the most beautiful TV series that I have seen.

  • I'd like to model my life after a combination of Carl Sagan and Jack Lalanne

  • im not a religious person but the big band theory is the most stupid theory of the origin of the universe! seriously fishes turning into all animals and monkey into man? haha no im sorry nobody really knows the answer thats how it is! science has been wrong millions of times!

  • @mr4METALLICA What you just described isn't the big bang theory...

You just described the theory of evolution. Scientists acknowledge that we do not know everything in the universe, nor do we know if things are for certain. They are constantly learning, providing that knowledge to the rest of humanity. Besides, there has been plenty of evidence to support the theory of evolution. And even that doesn't mean it's true.

  • @noobsaref i dont care to me its stupid and whatever they say right now will be proven wrong later on so i dont really give a fuck!

  • @mr4METALLICA dude did you seriously just get the big bang theory and the theory of evolution mixed up? No wonder you think they're stupid if you don't even know what they are!

  • @pyrea17 the fuck? yeah dude im stupid enough to not understand that

  • Carl, you were a amazing human being. I feel so lucky to have been able to share this tiny blue planet with you, in this enormous place, we call the Cosmos.

  • the fact that religious people find the need to point out their beliefs means they are insecure

  • I used to believe in God, until he stole my sweatroll

  • I can't wait to create a time-machine. Snatch Carl Sagan. And then go on an adventure to see all the ages. We'll first visit Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Then visit the mob and flappers in the 20s. Then visit presidents, poets, philosophers, Jesus Christ, etc. It'll be so fun I can't wait.

  • If carl could say one thing to you today it would be Ignore everything I said I am burning in hell you dont want to come here study the Bible trust in Jesus or you will end up here to I wouldnt wish my worst enemy come here ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! the pain

  • @coolvideo28 If there was a God, I doubt he be such a petty being that he would punish someone for eternity for simply not kissing his ass every Sunday. In other words, if there was a God, I think whether you believe in him or not is the least of his concerns.

  • @Tommy9834 God the Creator of all says what goes Not his Creation, Jesus God died innocently for your sins so you could go to Heaven even after you ignored him and did what you wanted. If you still denie him you get what you choose hell.

  • @coolvideo28 Did God say that? Or did someone claiming to hear God's voice say that?

I love how you Christians say God is beyond our understanding, yet claim to know his will as if you guys are his equal, then preach Pride is a sin.

  • @Tommy9834 If you actualy studied God living word the Bible instead of getting your information from missinformed people and Bible hate sites we could talk, but you are not interested in the truth you just hate Christians for some odd reason.

  • @coolvideo28 Ahhh yes, the Bible, the book written by a bunch of humans who claimed they are speaking the word of God, but offer no proof.

Well how about this, God just spoke to me, and he says this religion you call Christianity is full of shit.

I have the same amount of proof backing me as the people who wrote the Bible so if your gonna believe the Bible, I guess there's no reason to doubt that I really am speaking your God's words.

  • @Tommy9834 The Bible proves the Bible is perfect Not 1 thing in it can be proven wrong but as Archeology/Science advances we find out it is more right. God will speak to you if you give him your life he loves you enough to get tortured and die for you.

  • For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

    John 3:16-18

  • @coolvideo28 So the all powerful God can only forgive us by sacrificing his son, even though him being all powerful, he doesn't actually have to do this. Now that's called good parenting.

BTW, double negative only works in math. Quoting Bullshit from a bullshit book, doesn't make what's coming out of your mouth, not bullshit.

  • @Tommy9834 Stating facts out of Gods living word is just telling the truth if you cant handle it thats your problem.

  • @coolvideo28 Prove to me those are his actual living words then, and don't try hiding behind that "Faith is believing with no evidence" bullshit, cause I don't have faith, cause faith is for the foolish, the gullible, and blind sheep.

  • @Tommy9834 Do You believe in gravity?

  • @coolvideo28 Yes I believe in the theory of gravity cause that can be logically explained, and is not faith-based, unlike religion. Religion is always faith-based.

  • @Tommy9834 If You believe in Gravity then you believe in Faith because you cant believe in gravity without believing in it by Faith. unless U would like to explain to me how U believe in a magical invisible force that holds everything down without using Faith, because I could just as easily say that is God doing that & say see God is proven. U cant just make up a word for somthing & call it Science many evolutionists will openly admit they believe in gravity by Faith but I bet you wont at 1st.

  • @coolvideo28 All mass produce gravity, even an ant. The more mass you have, more gravity you produce, hence the reason why the gravity of an ant doesn't attract you in as much as the gravity of the Earth or the Sun. And this isn't just some mumbo jumbo like your Bible, we have tested this hypothesis, many times with several models, and turned it into a theory (Theory =/= guess)

I love it when you Christians try to hide God in "Unknowns"

  • @Tommy9834 (Cont), cause you know, somehow you guys conclude that "Unknowns" must equal God. Imagine if he thought like that for small pox, cause at one point, the cure for small pox was "Unknown" and guess what the Church said about that? They said that small pox was Divine punishments, therefore, mortals should not tamper with it. Luckily, some people said "Fuck the the Church and their bullshit rules"

  • @Tommy9834 Nah man you don't understand! God created man in his image, despite the fact that we are a hierarchical species which is impossible for a single entity to occupy. But dont let reason blind you! He created us in his image, then tempted us with forbidden fruits before bestowing us with knowledge of right and wrong thus condemning all of us unless we kiss his ass, but its ok now! Because he decided to come to us as his own son...

  • @Tommy9834 so that he could offer himself to himself to forgive us of the sin he created in the first place. TA-DA!!!!

  • @Tommy9834 Yo cant take Gravity into a lab and test it admit it you are believing in a magical invisable force that holds everything down, just because we make up a name for it doesnt mean it is Science.

  • @coolvideo28

Sorry to destroy your theory but you can test Gravity. The fact that matter weighs more on earth than in zero gravity proves that something is pressing down upon it. Because of this, we can conclude that the force that keeps us pinned to the floor, and our planet in its orbit, exists as when they're not there, i.e. zero G, matter weighs less. Also, if you want a more "layman" way of "testing" gravity: Drop a pen. It falls down, correct? Thus, gravity exists.

  • @coolvideo28 You also can't take the entire solar system into a lab and test if the planets revolve around the sun, rather then the Earth too. BUT we make other observations, and we test them, do experiments, and came up with that conclusion after, not hours, not days, not months, not years, but decades. Everything that is being presented scientifically, is something we came up with decades of experimentation and study, unlike your Bible, which some guy just pulled out his ass.

  • @Tommy9834 The Bible has been attacked for thousands of years and yet They cant prove 1 thing wrong thats because it is perfect. How many things have been proven wrong in Science? Higher than you or I have ever counted to thats for sure. The Bible is Gods living word its perfect you are following a religion evol. & when you waste your whole life on it die then your kids are laughing at another theory proven wrong you will have wasted your whole life for what?

  • @coolvideo28 Haha first page and it's wrong. The Earth is 6 000 years old. How about this Psalm 93:1: “Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm”. Yes the Earth isn't moving. Not one fact proven wrong. I just named two.

  • @Rationalist411 Please show me were in the bible it says that the earth is 6,000 years old. Psalm 93:1 is fact if the earth did we would all die genius. Maybe you should stop lying for aa living and start studying the Bible Gods living word aand you will have a real education.

  • @coolvideo28 Can you make string more than one grammatically sentence together because your whole comment (beside the first sentence) doesn't make sense. I can tell you are are uneducated from your writing. Your second sentence if such a mess I can't even understand it. You third one is just a personal attack which is what unintellectual people do. You are either a child or a sad man. I hope you are just a child because if you aren't you are truly a sad human being.

  • @Rationalist411 So let me get this straight you run from my question because YOU know you LIED and then you call me names & say I am sad HAHAHAHAAA

  • @coolvideo28 THIS IS MY LAST POST TO YOU. Too bad you missed the whole point of my post. I don't want to agree with people like you. You have no intellectual integrity. The bible doesn't explicit say the Universe is 6000 years but it does implicitly say that? If I say a year is 2323320/120-19000+17/4 (implicitly) it's the same as saying a year 365.25. You get that? You get how things don't have to be laid out explicitly to get a meaning or fact across. Anyway, have a nice life.

  • cont...Seriously though don't bother replying because it's going in the trash. I also regret responding to your question as I didn't want to get into an argument with you so ignore it. Again I won't respond to you so don't bother posting anything to me. I'm pretty sure you'll probably do anyway (just have a feeling from the person you are). Still, going in the trash and won't be read.

  • @Rationalist411 You lied I called you out on it and now you attack me. I get it you cant handle the truth. I will pray for you because I do care about you as I do about all. Have a great day.

  • @coolvideo28 Not one thing huh? I guess you still believe that the Sun revolves around the Earth then right? Or that the rainbows are God's way of saying sorry.

And yea, some things in science are proven wrong everyday, but by what? Not the Bible, but by new scientific discovery, so how is that a point towards the to your fairy tail of this God?

  • @coolvideo28 At least in science we can PROVE things to be true or untrue. Your bible is a collection of fairytales and should be read as one. Did you even know that Jesus was not the only christ in that era? Or that the bible is actually a very edited version, having a large portion edited out? How do you feel about your god being vengeful, hateful even? With all the torture, violence, actual dung-eating and incest in the bible, I am really glad I don't have to follow that kind of book.

  • @ejap76 Dont try claiming you guys own Science just because evol has hijacked it evol. Faith is Not Science at all. All the Scientists most well known for doing the most in Science have ne thing in common they are Creationists Bible believing Christians. So while you guys evolutionists act like you own Science truth is your not practicing Science you guys are holding on to evol. Faith that was proven wrong forever ago. The Bible on the other hand Gods living word is 100% perfect.

  • @coolvideo28 And what kind of prove do you have? Scientists can prove and unprove things, and admit that they were wrong.

  • @Tommy9834 Also just for the record Rocky Marciano is the best boxer of all time.

  • @coolvideo28 Holy crap, I'm so glad the bible is NOT a "living" word from anyone. What an evil tome that is! God should have just given us information on how to cure disease in the bible. Instead, he gave pages and pages on how to keep slaves, how to slaughter animals, and how to rape and pillage innocent people for imaginary crimes. Amazingly coincidental how the important stuff in the bible mirrors exactly what primitive people in the Bronze Age thought about all day.

  • @coolvideo28 Wow! I had never read that arbitrary passage from that arbitrary book before! You've really shown me the errors of my ways, Thanks bro!

  • @coolvideo28 Ok now I am convinced you are simply trolling. Earlier you said God loved us so much that he was tortured and killed for us (which in reality, a few days of torture followed by the experience of a mortal death wouldnt be that big a deal for a GOD) but now you say that this genius of a man is burning for eternity for not randomly deciding to devote himself to that book...how is that loving? I mean, do you really not even see the insane contradictions here?

  • @firebirdthecody Please go over to a museum nation and start screaming in the streets that islam is wrong and they are crazy for beliving this nonsense then when they take you away ask that they kill you how JESUS CHRIST died for you and ten half way through it let them video you and you can tell us "its not that big a deal". No ther was no contradiction here.

  • @coolvideo28 Jesus was certaintly not killed by muslims... but you see it would be a big deal to me if I was tortured for days and murdered because this is the only life I have. That torture in the grand scheme of things would really have no effect whatsoever on an eternal diety, so I cannot praise something I do not believe in for giving its life to forgive everyone for some curse that I dont believe in

  • @firebirdthecody You believe in God your not fooling me you or God saying otherwise. I will pray for you. You will live for eternity somwere right now you have choosen hell. Jesus is right here arms open wide, but you have to choose him.

  • @coolvideo28 You see, the problem is I don't believe in God. I really don't. If Jesus is right here right now with open arms, then so is Buddha, and he looks like he gives much more comfortable hugs.

  • For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools

    Romans 1:20-22

  • @coolvideo28 "The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose." Ecclesiastes 1:5. This says the sun moves around the earth. The sun does not go anywhere with haste. It is static compared to us. Your bible knows shit all about the workings of the universe. BOOM WHOS THE FOOL NOW!

  • @CtheWolfe Wow we can both read that and see you are completly lying.

  • @coolvideo28 Lying about what? That is a fucking bible quote dude from the KJV bible itself. What can I possibly be lying about? It says the sun HASTETHS the sun goes no where with haste.... certainly not to where it rises. We know the earth rotates thus the sun rises and sets.... but the sun moves no where with haste in relation to us. Get owned. Your bible doesn't even know we move around the sun and that it is OUR movement that causes the sun to rise and set. Fool.

  • @coolvideo28 "Gods living word the Bible is 100% Fact If you dont know Gods word You dont know the truth." - Your profile. So how is it that the bible is 100% fact when it gets the movement of stellar bodies wrong. I mean I think I just demonstrated the sun does not move with haste anywhere in relation to us. You should at least change your profile to the bible is a work of fiction with the odd truth or historical event recorded in it.

John 3:16-18 KJV

  • Some of the comments go completely against what Sagan was trying to convey-question religion and life, but do not forcefully project your beliefs onto others. If we want to work together to make the world better, we need to respect each other.

  • @Aryagoth I take infidel to to be a compliment. It even sounds kind of nice. =)

  • God is such a waste of talk it doesn't matter if he's real or not and if you're a good person whether or not you follow religions strictly he will take u to heaven on the chance there is one
