  • lol chickenrapist. cool name

  • IF ANYONE WANTS 1966 G400 HIT ME UP

  • pink strings??? haha i didn't know you could get coloured strings

  • Thanks bro, this really helped.

  • @Ceptics Thanks mate

  • love the pink strings :P

  • how are the stock pups on clean when you got it? i want a guitar that can do classic distort rock but have clean delta blues, and i really like this one, any throughts? and i might put bareknuckle pg blues pups in it.

  • @tom27j

It was not bad as the Faded model has better pups.

But the MightyMite adds a lot of spunk.

If you got the funds for a pair of Bareknuckles why not save up for a Gibson SG Standard or something?

  • Hey chickenrapsit what is the difference between the 62 SG and SG Faded ? I think it's just the pickguard and the paint job but I might be wrong...........

  • in your opinion, its a very good guitar?

  • @moroco22hur

not bad for the price range. well it was a very good unit, compared side by side with OTHER similar models but this was tonally best.

i would also consider tokai SGs at the price range.

  • GO AC/DC! xD

  • Why does yours have a binding aroung the neck? I have a 2006 model and I would love to have binding.

  • @mgrein93 i know that my 2010 epiphone G400 62 SG has black nut and black

binding.Gibson/Epiphone started the highend upgrades in 2007 on certain epiphone sg's and finished the highend upgrades for 2010. i know the Epiphone G400 62 SG IS ONE OF THE SG'S THAT HAS BEEN HIGHENDED UPGRADED.

for these guitars to continue to be crafted this way Gibson/Eipiphone will have to raise the prices or stop and go back making them with cheaper hardware. it doesnt matter to me because mine is a 2010 highend.

  • are these the stock pickups ?

  • @Zapping2 No they're mighty mite vintage buckers

  • O.O that guitar has no Bass at all ... is sound very thin, can you give it back ?

  • i can speak for the 2010 Epiphone G400 62 SG. I OWN AND PLAY BOTH SG'S

the Gibson SG and the Epiphone G400 62 SG. now i see and here why more

and more pro Guitarist/Musician's and mainstream recording artist are play

the Epiphone G400 62 SG live on stage and studio recording. the 2010 G400 62 SG is with out any doubt pro quality! the craftmanship is flawless and the harware

is highend. love the Gibson/Epiphone USA Alnico V HUMBUCKERS. Gibson USA

WILL EVEN TELL YA the G400 62 SG IS PLAYED

  • @stratdem PART-2

by the pro's for the simple fact its pro quality

with a budget price. Gibson USA will also its way under priced

and that could change at any time. i personaly like the neck better

on the Epiphone G400 62 SG THAN MY 69 Gibson SG. AND WHAT I HAVE READ

AND HAVE HAD PHONE CONVERSATIONS WITH Gibson i'm not the only one

who feels that way. i love playing both my SG'S.

  • why are the strings pink

  • ROFL. I came to watch this just because of your username.

  • There is absolutely no reason why Epiphone can't add neck binding to all of their sg's, except the Specials. Look at this guy's guitar..it looks sooo much better because of the neck binding. It looks like it's supposed to look.

  • does this guitar have neck binding because I was looking for a nice sg guitar. and i think that the worn brown guitar has no neck binding so i just wanna know that xD

    Thanks,

  • @TakaNuva1111 Th old ones have neck binding and gold epiphone logo on the head stock. The newer ones have no binding and have abalone(looking) epiphone logo. The stock bridge pu is not that great, but I put a duncan sh-4 in it and this guitar is now my main guitar even over my PRS (not that it is better just sick of people spilling beer on a $2000 guitar)

  • wat r u playin at 4:20. i've heard it before but i've forgot the name

  • @mrdannymacaskill

School's Out by Alice In Chains.

  • @ChickenRapist Alice in chains! u bag o' nuts...u mean alice cooper right cuz he rocks aha.

  • @ChickenRapist You mean Alice Cooper?

  • @ChickenRapist actually it's by alice cooper

  • @ChickenRapist

I think it's Alice Cooper. Nice review!

  • @ChickenRapist

    My bad Alice Cooper!

  • @mrdannymacaskill you mean alice cooper...

  • @mrdannymacaskill It's actually Alice Cooper not Alice in Chains.

  • Pink? jajajaja Gay

  • red strings ?

  • can you put a full size pickguard on it?

  • how did you get the bindings in a epiphone ?

  • it depends on the price range the cheaper ones dont have it but the more expensive do

  • should be "are they" lol..........

  • Hey mate....at 2:10 when you stopped strumming and started with those saaavage blues riffs.....what are you playing? Are there certain tabs you've practised off?? I'd love to know...that's the exact sound I'm after aye....at the moment it's a bit all over the place. I've just been given an Epiphone G-400 Les Paul Custom maestro as a 21st gift....sounds so nice, even with a portable amp. check out the vids;)

  • I'm just playing scales.. Basically improvising on the Blues scale in A..

  • does anyone know what he's playing at 8:25? thanks

  • It's actually The Darkest Night by As I Lay Dying..

  • You play really well

  • Hey man, how did you get that Epi - G 400 with a bound neck, they don't make them with the bound neck.

Did you custom order it ?

  • Its the Faded Edition that's why.

  • @ChickenRapist i'd like to know whats a bound neck......

  • @JeffreyCentino97

Can't explain this well. You have to google it. There's a layer of binding around the neck as opposed to other Epiphone SG makes..

  • @JeffreyCentino97 sure thx....just as almost everyone consulted, google it :) xddd

  • WOw! At 1:40 the clean tones sound amazing! Very acoustic. I have the g-400 1966 reissue in silverburst. It's absolutly amazing without any mods.

  • i want purple strings, i know those are red, but where did you buy them?!?!

  • angus licks ??

  • Wow Nice like how you rake when you Play

BTW nice Amp. Is it slidstate or tube?

  • Thanks.. The amp is solid state..

  • dude those strings r awsum i really got buy sum

  • they r sick i have 'em on mine

  • those strings r red devils they come in a blck box

  • what kind of strings are those?

  • cool strings

  • you should learn something more badass

  • stop strummin gayly through the woodland & crank that bitch!

  • not if you like mahogany bodies. Most of the time it is a matter of opinion, but I have seen some UNCOMFORTABLE looking guitars (Mostly BC Rich, though they have some good conventional models)

I vote one of each. A Swamp Ash strat and a Mahogany SG

  • dude ur right ive had a bc rich for about 2 years now and its realy uncomfortable but im getting a gibson sg special

  • I like your taste.

  • where is the head???

  • it looks great but maybe next time if you can play something bit more worth watching cheers

  • not for rock there not

  • Whats the difference between the faded SG and the regular epiphone SG? Because the faded is like $60 cheaper...

  • The extra paint and the gloss of the finish (plus the time to apply it) are what make up the difference. It seems like a rip off but some people are REALLY into aesthetics, this is a players option to reduce cost. Remember when picking a guitar that its sound and feel unplugged are much more important then plugged in, as all electronics and pick-ups can be upgraded, but the wood will always sound the same.

  • strings r fuckin gay..

  • im getting the honeyburst, i love that colour

  • lol pink strings!

  • freakstyle: out of the SG and les paul (epiphone) i'd probably go for the LP, it's heavier and denser but you get a much richer tone in it I think

  • what do you think about this : epiphone sg g400, boss ME50, fender frontman 15R?

  • Epiphone Les Paul Standard is so much better.

I have the G400 and a Les Paul Standard (but my LP have a Seymor Duncan Distortion (bright) and a Spanish Paf (neck)).

  • where did the neck binding come from?

  • Chicken Rapist!!! LMAOOOOO

  • acdc10020, it cost about $300 american

  • freakstyle94, get this sg. Costs less and even a little better then the epiphone les paul standard

  • I am impressed! I din't excpect this from epiphone! I have a gibson sg classic. You could tell a difference between the two but for the money, this epiphone is awesome!

  • i have a gibbie ha ha

  • man you play very nice but How much it cost???

  • Dude!!!!!! that guitar can roar!!!!! I'm so gonna get this sick guitar!!!!!

  • HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! LoL!!! 6:15!!!! "Shit"

  • Shhh! Hahaha.. It was a spontaneous review.. Mistakes were bound to happen bro!

  • you r awsome=)

  • dude is the coiltap factory made or you set it up?

  • SWEET! I'm getting the coil tap for my SG in the bridge. Bridge is the best pickup IMO.

  • u rock and i have that guitar

  • uv got potential dude

  • im gettin this

  • Oh i loved those blues sounds!

  • Thanks man!

  • its a bit ironic to see that nice amp with all those pedals, yet you get an epiphone .. did you break the budget? i have nothing against epiphone but there guitars are low end gibsons and sense i dont have alot of money i also but epiphone.

  • Erm.. She WAS a backup guitar, that was better than ALL the Gibsons I have ever tried, save for the one that I own now.. Sold this guitar a while back though..

  • Is that the Brown or Cherry Red?

  • Red actually, but it is a faded red, thus making it look like brown at times..

  • WOW

i think it has a better sound that gibson sg special faded

  • This guitar has more mass to it, and the SG special has open coiled pups. In the end the Gibby sounds harsher and more trebly, and this sounds fatter and smoother..

  • for the guy 2 comments below

what he done was modeify the bridge pickup with a coil tap, what this does is when the pot is up one pup wire is de-activated making the pup the same as a single coil without actually having a single pup

and really all a humbucker is, is two singles coils wired as one to in result give much bolder or fater tone and produce much more output

humbuckers usually are more feedback and noise resistant!

there ya go a slight pickup lesson for those who dont know, levi

  • 4:17 u played schools out i love that song and good review by the way

  • cool

  • WTF? why you can pull out the controller of the tone?

  • I'd guess a coil tap ?

  • Splits the coils to make it sound like a single coil, cool feature

  • Yeap.. Instead of having a toggle switch for the coil tap, my coil tap is wired to the tone pot..

  • sounds good

  • what can i say thick american.

  • ok well how wer the stock pickups? did the mighty mites really make a difference? where did u buy yours or is it better to order it online?

  • Yes the mighty mites made a big difference.

The mighty mites gave a better mid-range response and gives a more "controlled" driven performance.. In a sense your riffs became tighter, instead of sounding so open with the original pups..

I bought the guitar at a shop, the pups second hand, taken off a vintage guitar..

  • I like the vintage cherry color a lot, the brown is cool too. But I like red on guitars better, either way is pretty sexy.

  • whoa, i didn't know this had a bound fretboard

  • Only the older ones.. The newer ones do not come with this..

  • Yeah when I was looking at someone who had the vintage g400 on youtube I was wondering why theirs didn't have a bound fretboard.

I love my vintage g400, I put a Burstbucker pro in the bridge and it sounds awesome for blues and even metal, too much mids for cleans tho.

  • Indeed.. The mids and bottom end are accentuated by the choice of wood and the amount of it.. This beast weighs MUCH more compared to my Gibson SG Standard..

On more bottom-inclined amps, the G-400 is too muddy.. But pair it with a bright sounding amp, this thing is a beast! Great when driven, and loves fuzz as well..

  • Im going to buy a vintage g400 but i dont know which color so whats your fav?

  • Anything to do with heritage red, or cherry red..

All my SGs have that colour on em!

  • sorry for the noob question what is a bound fretboard?

  • Binding on the fretboard.

  • Errr.. It's not a look thing..

Nowadays play my Gibbie more and hence selling this (its an ad for a forum)..

So I used coloured strings so that they don't rust longer..

Plus my sweaty palms really kill em strings..

Red was the most neutral colour I could find..

Didn't want black.. A mixture of 3 primary colours makes it thicker and less brighter..

  • do u have red fuckin strings
