"If you see something, say something." Department of Homeland Security - Janet Napolitano... Waitaminute! Wtf!? I think she forgot to add that we don't rat on the Gov't only one another:/ Gimme a break.
The tax payers of the state of Virgina and the county this took place in need to be asking these questions of their senators and commissioners. I know I would want to know why so much was spent on what would have been an otherwise peaceful demonstration had the police not shown up. The police need to be reminded as often as we can of their oath, something I do whenever the opportunity arises. Their actions here were despicable and they should be ashamed.
A changeling you better believe....sieg heil! These Nazi's came with the overwhelming power to slaughter the entire penned in protesters 100 times over, if given the order to do so. And that is what is so scary. RIP American Constitution.
A friend who is a veteran told me that when you join the military, you surrender many of your legal rights as an American citizen. Any lawyers know whether this is true? Still, there are human rights...
@Wolfiemouse When you join the military you give up some freedom. If you do not want to give up the freedom do not sign up. It is a contract and the conditions are set out. That you are born with rights has nothing to do with one being able to decide to contract away these rights for what ever reason. They are yours to do with what you want. So when you join the Army for instance you give up the right to a large degree of say privacy or being able to go and come as you want.
as far as I know, even prisoners in solitary confinement in maximum security prisons are allowed periodic visits from family, lawyers, and congressmen
All citizens, no matter what the country of origin, hav rights, whether recognized by law or not, to a fair and speedy trial. anythin less is intolerable injustice
I was at this protest, and I had no trouble coming and going. I had to leave (after some of the protesters sat down) to use the restroom - and I walked quite a way to find one. Then I left at 4:30 to get on the bus, like a lot of the protesters.
He is correct about the automatic rifles. It was ridiculous.
the excessive force is to intimidate the people into remaining passive and ineffective in their civil (dis)obedience. sad thing is it works. have protesters ever tried to physically remove the war criminals from power, or interfere with congress' ability to pass corrupt laws, or bust political prisoners out, etc.? ......nope. we dont have the balls to give up our cushy lives and challenge the police state head on like the Arabs are doing now.
@sundance293 You are correct on that statement. However, his [alledged] leaks helped to expose corruption in Middle Eastern governments, which is not really a bad thing.
It explosed our inept politicians and that is why they are so angry at him. The audacity of this guy embarassing our fearless leaders.
One more quick point, I find it interesting how the wrath of the government came down not on those who committed the crimes, but on those who explosed the crimes. Hmmm... interesting!
maybe the ar-15 were because it was organised by veterans, they can be way more deadly than common protesters or common police for that matter, when they really want to
I fear this will become more and more commonplace in the years or decades to come, if we still have the ability to voice our opinions at all. We truly are the frogs being boiled now... some of us are noticing the heat but the rest are oblivious by design. God help us all.
the courts are corrupted beyond repair. congress is hardly more than an ornamental group of functionaries fighting over who gets to devour the most money from the public trough. the executive branch is now the sole proprietor of a corporation called "the United States of America".
did you think they would print the headlines "the republic is dead"? did you think fox or cnn would cover the story even on the back page of the obituaries when the republic died?
@knowthingman thank you- atleast someone gets it- we're not moving towards fascism. we're not creating a police state. We already HAVE one. We've had once for years!
ppl need to wake up an acknoledge that and deal with it-
America it seems has lost it's balls and courage with them. The people just do as they are told, like sheep being led to the slaughter, oblivious to the loss of freedom.
@NewAmericaNow I don't think so. I believe there are a lot of us that are awake. Things just haven't gotten bad enough yet to make us leave what we are so accustomed to. Idk if you saw the video of the big kid that was being bullied by the little kid, but once the "bully" had nagged at him so much, the big kid finally decided that he had enough and struck back. The revolutionary war was only fought with about 20% of the population.
the question of guilt or innocence aside what is he accused if there is no charge then what is he suspected of doing?

@DailyBrusher Under USMJ this young man might indeed have waved his rights when he joined the military.

@ke4lyy You should never be asked to wave your rights as a human being. That inalienable right comes with being born.
