Eee PC Plays Halo

@WatchCharmedOnline Actually the Asus eee pc 700 has a celeron processor. Atoms weren't introduced until the 900ha ("h" meaning hardrive and the "a" meaning atom).

yea it lagged some, but the main problem isnt the ghz or ram, its the graphic memory.

On my eee pc 901 i tested Guildwars, wow, halo, counterstrike and runescape, all worked smoothly, wow had no lagg, counterstrike ran well but with some small freezes that u even find on decent pc's, halo no problems, runescape .... easy to run. and Guildwars was outstanding, was well impressed seya lla hope this has helped someone :D

Unless he has a laptop. I have a 2 year old Compaq laptop (Compaq is owned by HP) and it can't even run Halo on the lowest settings. It also can't run programs like OE Cake or Phun. I don't blame him for hating HP.

seriously. my friend (roomate) and i just payed for an HP with vista 64 bit version, 6 gigs of ram, nvidia 9800 gt, great deal for everything that was on it (except vista!!!) and we boutght it cuz it was cheap, i can build, dont get me wrong.

but hp has never worked well for me, they always fuck up. and opening them is a bitch, the drives are a pain in the ass, and i hate the ports. so many better designs, yet they stick to a crappy one.

EEEPC can run Half Life 2 well, but Counter Strike Source runs only at about 10FPS.

Halo 1 runs smooth on pretty much anything. You have to remember the original xbox had 64MB Of RAM and GPU less powerful than the EEE's and a P3 Processor... I installed it once but it took up 2GB and I only have the 4GB Model.

I'd have to disagree. Halo 1 was a horrible port by Gearbox, the main issue it had was game performance.

Of course nowadays its a cakewalk to run, but for PCs at the time had a much harder time running it. Look at the Nvidia 5000 series and their cards, they were really the top of the line cards(excluding ATI's line) back then but the cards struggled to keep up with the game.

I agree. I had a 8x AGP 5700 Ultra and Halo ran sluggish on it. At its time it required a really powerful computer to run smooth despite the fact that other games at its time looked better and ran better on the same hardware. It wasn't very well optimized at all.

its a mini laptop which runs on linux but only 2g hardrive, i think its got an expansion slot so u could put a 16g sd memory in, cost 199 from pc world in uk, so do i buy an iphone or archos or the asus eee, im looking 4 somthing that can surf the net, down load southpark and put fotos on
