The ones I really hate are the sa-15 Tor, it fires on you and you're pretty much done. Good thing the sams in game are dumb and keep their search radar on almost continuously.

@MightyTabooTiki Flares arent useless, but in those short distances, its best to keep the flares for long range SAMS and use high G-manuveurs to evade the missile. even in A10 i think its possible :)

if u get engaged by long range missiles or by a figther and u have a good distance between u and the shooter then u can use flares, but u have to ALWAYS move, dont stay on one course, always go up then down make barrel rolls go side to side or whatever.
