@costernocht - yeah no kidding, because hardrock+(c)rap music are not about beauty and sweetness, are they. that's the point of them. one is for angry white guys, the other is for angry black guys.
This was actually a Frank Trumbauer ensemble (released in the U.S. under Benny Meroff's name on Okeh, and as "Frankie Trumbauer's Augmented Orchestra" on Parlophone in Great Britain), featuring Bix, Bill Rank (tb), Don Murray (cl), Bobby Davis (as), Adrian Rollini (bsx), Joe Venuti (v), Eddie Lang (g), Frank Signorelli (p) and Chauncey Morehouse (d), recorded on September 30, 1927.
From 1900 to today, I've made 111 playlists so we can listen as if we were sitting by the radio in any past year. Still working on these early years.
Follow the history of pop from Sousa marches & Joplin rags to the sounds of today. Relive the music of any special year in your life . . . . . . . . .
Thank you Edmund. I'm Robert Berenson from Jersey City and am hearing (thanks to you) wonderful Bix recordings that I HAVE NEVER HEARD...what a thrill!
The singer is Irving Kaufman who recorded prolifically using different names for different record companies. He got all his jobs because of his diction which was very important during the years of acoustic recordings if you wanted to understand the lyrics.
Great. Bix, Shalom from Israel.

Bix is an all-time great and so frustrating, wasting so much of his talent as he did.

There's more beauty and sweetness in this two-and-a-half minute song than in the entire body of hip-hop, rap, and headbanging rock 'n' roll.

This song is so amazing - almost too good to be true. So good it should probably be illegal. I love Bix, such a shame that he died so young.

Really Diana? How old were you? Bix passed away in 1930 - which if you were born then makes you 78-79. I think someone is fibbing here....
