I saw it more with the captain marvel reutrn as having their cake and eating it. I actually saw this right when he apeared in civil war that something was up and this wasn't the real deal and then secret invasion got anounced and I went yep he's a skrull.

I never understood the saying "You can't have your cake and eat it too".It doesn't make any sense.You're supposed to eat your cake,that's why you buy it.Eat that cake people you deserve it.

I don't think it makes sense either but it's an easy phrase to use to describe certain situations such as the one that happened with the return of Captain Marvel and the subsequent revelation of being a skrull.

I would agree that you're not really getting the whole story if you don't read the mini-series, but at the same time, if it's anything like Civil War, they're probably 80% the same rehashed lines of crap.
