I remember when I used to catch the PATH from East Orange to see ah peep show or two for ah quarter...I was dumb mad when the window closed in like 5 secs!!! LOL LOL Those were the days!!
OK, I remember my older cousins blasting this to a homemade beat box. They would walk down the street with this song blasting! That was early/mid 80's. To me, that was the best time of my life in those days,
This joint brings back a lot of good memories & actually one of my son's favorite too...He recently heard it on an episode of Everybody Hates Chris...Tripped out when he heard it on my iPod...
You know it's real music, then the lyrics can relate nearly 30 years later!!!
@HeavenForYourEars -Stop brah please stop! that's funny as hell. You're definitely right tho. These brainwashed,pre-school rapping, materialistic, gun packing, saggin jeans wearing, shitty beat producing thugs of the (2000's) have killed true hip-hop & rap. It's not even about talent today,it's about image. That shows just how fucked up society has become. Technology has made these punk motherfuckers lazier, soft, uncoachable, uncontrollable, unteachable. The masses of sheep are growing. It's sad. 1luv
@str8outtatexas1 yeah bro. this new generation of kids don't know what music is..all they know is that house and techno shit and they think rap is all about cars, money and bitches. when i see them i star laughing. but it's sad cuz they support the wrong rappers. they should support nas, scarface and rappers that are still kickin old school and they are still alive. u should check out Pete Rock's new album. it's sick it's called "Monumental" we all should support REAL HIP HOP!
very sad that todays rap is just crap and all about whos got what and i got more than u along w the bitches hoes and guns /drugs THIS IS REAL MUSIC OH PLEASE SOMEONE BRING BACK THE 80"S
Notice at 1:05 how the people on the street are looking at the action going on in the camera. I guess that they didn't have it in the budget to close off the street or have a closed set.
What I would give for Ti track suit, or the jacket at least. check it at 3:33. For those youngsters that don't know Ti was the "freshest" back in the day!

It was an honor to be a part of this group my name is Shelton D and I want to say thank you all for the heartfelt comments ..rest in peace to my brother my friend DJ Mike music
I used to mix this one in all the time back then - and I just brought it back out this summer. Paul Cameron's mix with Look of Love Dub inspired me to buy it in 1984. My only complaint was the sound quality seemed so quiet compared to other tracks. The only place you could find tracks like this back then in The Bay Area was a record store at the Oakmont Mall. Anyone remember the name?
Loved the rap at that time, it was fun and clean, there wasn't that rivalry between East And West coast rap which unfortunately resulted int he deaths of two of the biggest Rap biggest stars 2pac and Notorious B.I.G
Thanks for posting! I loved this song when it came out in '84 - and I still love it today. Amazing how the lyrics are just as relevant 25 years later. A true CLASSIC!!!
My dad used to play this song back in the 80's in his car and now I'm listening to it. This song is way better than the kind of crap rap they call songs now. I've been listening to this song ever since I was 6 and now I'm 12. Just goes to show these songs are better.
...not only the track who's the shit. the message too! now we have 2010....and people still believe in IT and do IT...4 Money .................bam bam bambambam bambam.
