They can't know everything so when the supposed authorities tell them this drug is for..., this drug does..., this is good, they listen without question. They are socialized in college to be this way which is also why they won't listen to their patients. As a patient you do not have the authority to know but the doctor does and in that role they assume you do not know.

Right on! My doctor tried to put me on blood pressure meds but I checked the friggen chart and I don't have blood pressure. I was above average but below what is considered high. I told him to keep his meds and made some adjustments to my diet instead. If my blood pressure goes above the point where it's considered high, I'll take the meds but not until then.
