Raocow, you really were astoundingly diligent and resourceful in this. You got the power up on your first attempt! (That is, first attempt to record you getting it.)
With the last runs and his muscle memory making it easy for him to blaze through the maze... It reminded me of the victorious chipmunk runs... At least in video form, not so much audio.
What a devious puzzle. Yet to be honest, this level of mental challenge is extremely rare in games these days. It's pretty refreshing and interesting to watch.
Er... I'm not going to play it myself though, no way. Too freaking intimidating.
@FMagl No; they would turn around when they hit the edge of the screen. It actually happens in this video at 4:55. I don't see how it would be possible to get them in there, though.
:D oh raocow, always halfway through I'm screaming "just stop, its not worth it" and then you finally get it :D every episode is an emotional rollercoaster
This is the kind of video I like to see. There is a Raocow and he has some troubles, but he overcomes them and seems to have fun doing so along the way, none of this Angercow business.
You did the great "Intentional" glitch on 4:18 . If you jump at precisely the right time when bouncing, you can jump much further. The right solution would be to take the box downwards and use it twice. Anyway, congratulations for victory on the switch maze!
To clarify what raocow was trying to say towards the end:
In these puzzles with execution elements (i.e. DaShoes), it's not clear whether you're doing the wrong step with the puzzle, or you're doing the right step but not doing the jumps or so properly. Because of the puzzle's nature, it takes a lot of thinking to know what to do next. All you can do is analyze the puzzle and use trial and error. Good job to raocow for doing that successfully.
That was awesome! I cheered loudly (and admittedly nerdy) to myself at the victory.
Anyway, I rather enjoyed watching the 28 minutes. Seeing the steps this time was fascinating to watch considering I wouldn't of thought like you did at all during this puzzle and probably been stuck way longer (In fact, I know so). So good job Raocow!
I wish I could be there for games like these to act as your advisor. So I could tell you stuff like, "hey Raocow, you solved the first half by randomly running into stuff, so maybe you should try randomly running into stuff some more!"
If you wan't to know what you were supposed to do for the yellow spikes at 1:50, you were supposed to throw the blue block on the previous yellow spikes in a way where you could regrab it and use it again.
Instead, you accidentally pull off a frame-perfect glitch. XD
Yeah, raocow you were really lucky there. I was stuck there for quiet a long time trying to throw the box on the most left spike of the 3 yellow spikes in order to take in down. Incredibly lucky! Don't think that could be redone thou. Anyway, congratulations for the switch maze! Good Luck on puzzles later on~
This was a nice thing, I'm actually pretty glad you left everything in, it was neat to see the ordeal not just the conclusion. Nitori looks like a really well made game.
I spent at least half the video yelling at Raocow to try something... and he never tried it. (Dash shoes with only the red switch on.) I don't know if it WILL work, but it took him SO LONG to remember he could dash.
I honestly think you broke this one, because it seemed like you could have brought down those white enemies, made them fall into the pit, and then used them to get back up with stinky balls. Otherwise what was the point of that wind channel going up there?
@chainfire9001 Actually, the FOEs land atop the grapple blocks and go over the spikes, which'll probably help on the return trip. If he turned on the switches for the FOEs, it wouldn't made a difference, unfortunately.
@posthumanfetus By standards of the final world in a Touhou fan game, that puzzle looked much too easy to make the Ariadne's Thread worth it. I had a general idea of how he needed to get back before he even showed it, and raocow's successive attempts generally acheived some kind of progress, and platforming-wise, this world has put him through much worse. Also, I don't recall seeing very many mushrooms in recent episodes.
Buddy, I would have given up and just used the Aryan's Thread because that puzzle was pretty rough. ... although I just figured you would have to use the running slam jump with the dashoes.
That was actually some rather impressive playing and deduction.
