@MegaELECTRICEYE The Love was always there, it just wasen't always said verbally alot, & there wasen't alot of hugging (although some) Karen didn't look at herself as such a big deal, even though you & I know she was- I always personally sensed it was a bit of a self esteem issue, but Karen would certainly take alot of time by herself in dressing, fixing her hair, she was"VERY" self critical of herself, but hid it for so long. I grew up in Orange County, California and was friends with the son of Bob Messenger who was the Carpenter's bass player. I recall many times seeing him practicing in the house. These musicians are gone forever or fading away into oblivion replaced by loud brash ill behaved young "musicians" if you call them that. I loved and still love the Carpenters
