Mario Kart Ds is better than mario kart wii. For these simple reasons. Mario kart wii, crashing is too hazardous and items are overpowered(you can be in 1st place and get hit with a shell and you'll end up in 4th). Ds had a mission mode that had fun games and challenges, and cleverly designed bosses. Mario kart ds had more and better karts. Everyone had their own three karts. Then you can unlock all karts for any character. So you can be your favorite character with any class. More freedom.

@zeenasi Mario kart wii has a supperior online. But mario kart ds has a very well online as well. And you cant give it to a game because its online is better but the other one still has online. Especially when the other has better gameplay.

well, megawizard and majorgamer, i unlocked it with time trials so heres some tips for the trials.

always unlock the ghost valley one last because it is hard to.

use bikes or karts but most preferably bikes.

I don't know of the alternate ways, really. The fast staff ghosts can be easy or hard, depending on how much you've played. If you just started Time Trials, they can be kind of difficult to get.

Try out the Dolphin Dasher, Sneakster, and Mach Bike, and I guarantee you'll like one of them. With a well-timed wheelie, the Mach Bike's low acceleration is no problem.

in the ds desert hills race, that was a great ending! i think that the golden mushroom (i call it emperial mushroom, because i don't know what it's really called) can be one of the best items in the game, if the timing is good. one time i got it when i was like it 5th place, but it was dk summit, and i was just about to go through that long cannon. the mushroom was pretty much wasted. *Sigh* but yeah, if you use it properly, it is a very good item!

Then you'll have to do it through local multiplayer, I guess.

Staff ghosts are unrelated to the Golden Wii Wheel. You need to have three conditions fulfilled:

1. You have to have taken on at least 100 people in online races.

2. At least 50 of these must be done with the Wii Wheel.

3. Your previous race must be done with the Wii Wheel.

Oh, the Sprinter. Are you sure you unlocked the fast staff ghosts and not just the regular staff ghosts?

You should check them over anyway, because if you didn't get the Sprinter, then it means you haven't unlocked at least 24 fast staff ghosts. You can tell they're fast staff ghosts when you start a Time Trials course and you see the ghost data first.

When you get item attacked like that, do the thing where you build up a mini-turbo with out moving. That's what I do when I'm using a heavyweight. I use the Wheel.

Hey congrats on getting the 1 star rating. I saw someone today who had a golden wii wheel and 3 stars :O he had a VR of like 8000 something. It took me 3 days of nothing but Grand Prix, but I managed to get 3 stars eventually. Can't really say it's worth all the effort though, because you get nothing but a pretty icon next to your name. Would be nice if it unlocked a new vehicle or title screen, or something...

I don't think I've played Mario GP at all since I got the 1-star. I've since learned how to get 3-star ratings (I realized what was preventing me from doing so was going off-road), but I don't feel like it.

Wow, I can see why you were angry about being stuck in the middle of the pack from that first race. That is low acceleration vehicles for you I guess and getting continually bombarded by items doesn't help much either. You did a great job in catching up on that last lap however.

Tip for low acceleration vehicles: After being hit, press both the accelleration and the drift button, you will charge a MT in 1 second, giving you max speed even if your normal acceleration requires 3/4 seconds (Mach/Bowser Bike are examples).

Thanks. It's essential when you use karts; you have to assess which turns are Super Mini-Turbo-worthy and staying in a drift long after the turn ends sometimes.

I wonder how Terrance felt being the only biker in the whole room? He was the only one for a few races. Very nice jump to first! I hate that I lost my solid lead so quickly. I thought I performed a trick when you used your POW block, but I didn't.

Grumble Volcano probably provided a swift slap to those guys' faces. They obviously had no idea what to do here, and you dominated will Polly following behind. I never knew GBA Shy Guy Beach was such a popular choice. Anyway, great races!

Well, this Killua guy ws also using a bike, and while his VR is pretty solid, he had a tough time competing with you guys. He was noticeably uncomfortable being surrounded by karts though, it seems. He was constantly picking GBA Bowser's Castle 3.

GBA Shy Guy Beach is NOT a popular choice, though not because people forget about it. Its image has been sullied greatly by people who artificially raise their VR by using Toadette on the Magikruiser on it. It's just these guys who can't get enough.

This is where my good racing stopped. :( You had some rough things happen to you in Coconut Mall, but you never really fell that far behind. You were in 10th for only a few seconds, but you caught right back up. KOK had some bad luck right at the end. I'm assuming he hit a car or two.

DS Desert Hills is turning into one of my most picked tracks mainly because nobody ever does. That's why I picked it. This race was great. There was no telling who would win at the end of it.

And Toad's Factory is very neglected too. I was frequently picking Desert Hills when I played MKDS online, since most people had no idea what to make of it.

I didn't have any particularly brutal beatings this time around (why is why my VR increased after these sessions), so the Coconut Mall was the best example I could make. They're kind of lke thow photo opportunities show up whenever you're not carrying a camera--these always happen when I'm not recording.
