Damn, Mickey's been in some damn good games throughout the years. This game, the Game Gear/Master System version of this game, Mickey's Dangerous Chase (Game Boy), Magical Quest (SNES), World of Illusion (Genesis), Mickey Mania (Sega CD), Great Circus Mystery (SNES/Genesis) just to name a few.

I saw a friend of mine complete this game in 1993/4, I wasn't good enough at it myself :-) Another great playthrough. I remembered the levels ok, totally forgot what the bosses looked like until I saw them here.

I used to get so pissed at this game when i was a kid that i would throw my controller on the ground and it eventually broke. 18:07, was the only part of the game that I liked even though i never finished the game. Lol.

Great game! But it's nice to notice by now that you could put any other character in Mickey's place that it won't change the game a bit. It seems like the Japanese guys only put Mickey to sell more. Or it is just their style of gaming...

Another curiosity is the number of team members to execute this project. I counted 12 people (includin a Disney manager) in the credits. Are all codenames with Special Thanks to another 12 people.

This game had such great sound. I had some ugly-as-sin multi colored button controller that also had built in headphone extension. Made it sound even better. An excellent game as well. I did manage to win this one as a kid. Thanks for posting.

Collecting seven rainbow-coloured gems sounds suspiciously like rainbow Islands to me.

And look that the effect collecting all those gems has- it builds...one two-metre bridge between two towers of the castle. Mickey should've just got a long plank of wood and it would'vbe saved him an awful lot of trouble!

For most classic games, playing on Easy Normal or Hard makes little difference in Ai behavior. Although Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion is intensly more challenging on hard mode, the Ai behavior doesn't change. However, if you ever play Gunstar Heroes on anything less than Expert, you are missing out on some serious modifications in game challenge and Ai behavior. But for Mickey Mouse you get a pass on Normal mode, nicely played.

Play As Mickey first because Donald is a little difficult or have a partner play with you because the gameplay is different in 2 players!
