At least in this fight Klitschko showed he has a lot of heart, that he could be tested and face adversity and not quit like he did against Chis Byrd because before this fight there were big questions about his "ticker."

Fucking bullshit Klitschko would have won on points, he only had 2 rounds by my scoring, Lennox dominated and made a 2 inch slash from 1 punch, and he only got a small cut on the nose.

If Lewis would have continued Vitali would have needed a plastic surgeon for a least six months to get his face in shape he would have lost his eye, as well as his senses. Vitali is probably the greatest fighter of all time. He has the highest ever knockout-to-fight ratio (93%); he has never been knocked down, not even by those ferocious punches from Lewis; and he has great speed/power. His only two losses have been due to injury.
To say that Lewis was a far greater fighter is rather silly. Vitali was winning on all three score-cards, and Lewis refused to fight him again.
Also interesting to note who the crowd cheers/boos for.
Klitschko had the same great chance that Rahman had in the first fight but he didn't take it.
Lewis was well behind on the scorecards but he won legitimately because Klitschko couldn't see. If he had been allowed to fight on, he would have lost an eye

Really was a great fight too bad, because of the cut Vitali could have created.
I can well understand why he called the years of Lewis rematch.
But now he should give Solis a rematch that could have been a huge struggle.
Especially since Solis was something even better and a ko was not.

Lewis turned down 30 mm for a rematch and that tells you he was lucky Vitali got cut but if you look at the punch it was a hold and hit tactic and a rub of the dreadlocks. I think had the fight gone on Vitali would have had a god chance although the cut was bad. Lennox never KO'd a man past the 8th rd and he was starting to tire. Too bad Lennox refused to rematch Vitali. I think Vitali would have been more confident in fight 2

Vitali is probably the greatest fighter of all time. He has the highest ever knockout-to-fight ratio (93%); he has never been knocked down, not even by those ferocious punches from Lewis; and he has great speed/power. His only two losses have been due to injury.
To say that Lewis was a far greater fighter is rather silly. Vitali was winning on all three score-cards, and Lewis refused to fight him again.
Also interesting to note who the crowd cheers/boos for.

He wasn't well out of shape. His first bout against Rahman he was well out-of-shape. Here he wasn't at his best, though, you're kinda right.
But he wasn't winning, and he "won" due to an injury. Why not give Vitali a rematch? Too much at stake, knew there was a solid chance of a loss.
I'm not saying Vitali is definitely better, we'll never know. But it's totally ridiculous to say Lewis is based on this fight.

Klitschko had the same great chance that Rahman had in the first fight but he didn't take it.
Lewis was well behind on the scorecards but he won legitimately because Klitschko couldn't see. If he had been allowed to fight on, he would have lost an eye

@BruceinFalkirk I think Lewis did extremely well to take those vicious shots from Vitali [in vice-versa], particularly in round 2.
It was deduced that the cut was due to a blow from the side of Lewis' glove though, wasn't it? It wasn't from taking a severe beating. That simply exacerbated it.
Who's the better fighter? We'll probably never agree lol. But despite my leanings toward Vitali, they're both class acts, and two of my favourite boxers.

MMA has different rules to boxing.
Lewis was definitely behind on the cards, no doubt about it, but there were still 6 rounds to go and Klitschko's vision was impaired so the fight was stopped.

@BruceinFalkirk I've never seen a match go on with injuries like this, should have been stopped the round previous. Seemed a little fixed to me, as if no matter what damage Lewis did the people in charge make sure that it goes on for a little longer than in the rules. Makes you think.

Indeed. This fight was stopped in time and Klitschko came back to be king of the hill after Lewis was gone. He wouldn't have done that if he had lost an eye and boxing has way too many fights that were stopped way too late and the fighter never fought again.

Lennox took the fight at short notice.....the absolute worst of Lennox was still good enough to rip the very best of Klitschko to shreds...the momentum of the fight was with Lennox, as he said, he would've knocked him out...no doubt whatsoever.!!! The first punch that cut him had VK clinging on for dear life.!!

Vitali has never been knocked down. He has one of the greatest chins in boxing. That said, Lewis also has a good chin on him. But remember, Vitali has the greatest knockout-to-fight ratio in heavyweight history. He would have worn Lewis down enough that they probably would've gone the distance. To say Lewis would definitely have knocked him out is just silly. This is from a Kiwi btw lol.
