M motor > 40T gear > 8T (attached to) 24T. Next series it was driven by an XL motor, which although is slower than the M it had the power to move all the gears quicker. I'm not sure.
All you need are Lego's Power Functions and Lego technic (what you need specifically will depend on what you want your robot to be like) LRW is just me, but I will gladly film and fight anyone who wants too.
Eventually I hope lots of people build robots, and soon LRW will be a real tournament!
@ochayedonald Not yet I'm still working on it but you don't need to make it curved. You have to make it in a kind of pyramid shape. It so far the basic model is quite strong. I dropped it down the stairs and only the clubs on the side fell off. I still haven't found a way of making it light yet.
They're the new style tracks from the Bulldozer, and although I've ripped them apart before with Inertia they're pretty tough. But I didn't have them tightly meshing with the gear-wheel-things and also they have NO grip on wood!
great heat, and im very happy about the naming for the crusher { only because i suggested the final name :) }, also im sad because the dinosaur became extinct in the first round so hopefully the will do better in the 5th wars
another great heat! this series seems to be proving that your flippers need a bit of momentum first before they actually work lol. were those stud things on levitator to help traction?
They didn't work at all lol, I'm really going to have to do something about that!
Later on in the series I drove the flippers as I knew how to a) make the flipper go down and b) get the best out of them. The semi between Armageddon and Velocity is... fun : D

Maybe make a redesign of inertia, lower to the ground? The idea is really good, and it could work better after a redesign. Thanks!

I tried to make it as low as possible, see Series 5, but then I messed up the drive...

Awesome. However, a real combat robot would roflpwn them.

how do you make the robots weapons move independently???
sparkstriff 1 year ago
@sparkstriff
Two transmitters and two recivers per competitor

I think the idea is great , i love the robots themselfs , they way they move , and the flippers and weapons on them - its great :D

Hey. I'm thinking of building a Lego Robot. What would I need to start off, and if I do go ahead with it, would I enter it into LRW?

Nice fights. It would be awesome if you put that crusher on a lifting arm so it could fight like Complete Control.
ScrapDadddy 2 years ago
A grabbing-lifter is something I definitly want to try - I don't think a crushing-lifter will in Lego : (
ochayedonald 2 years ago
Have you ever tried doing a Typhoon 2 design. I'm working on one. For me it is difficult. It would be really cool if you made one.
legomailman 2 years ago
Closest I've come is Inertia. Not sure how to make a full body, also curved, out of Lego, whilst making it very strong and very light.
Can I see you're progress?
ochayedonald 2 years ago
@ochayedonald Not yet I'm still working on it but you don't need to make it curved. You have to make it in a kind of pyramid shape. It so far the basic model is quite strong. I dropped it down the stairs and only the clubs on the side fell off. I still haven't found a way of making it light yet.

where did u get the parts for velocity
CalumWasEre2009 2 years ago
You'll have to be more specific, I got the parts from all over the place but I can tell you where to obtain certain pieces.
ochayedonald 2 years ago
well what power functions
CalumWasEre2009 2 years ago
The power functions I got from the official lego online shop or bricklink. com
Velocity uses 2x M motors for drive, 2x XL for the weapon, 2 recharagable batteries (standard in almost all of my robots) and two receivers.
ochayedonald 2 years ago
how did u make the wapon of deltasaur
morismania1 2 years ago
It's simply an actuator pushing the arm, very near to the pivot of the arm.
Though, I don't think it's very good, I will need to do more testing as this series didn't really give it a good go.

Twister vs. Inertia- THAT would be a fight my friends!

your right parts would be everywhere

In the first fights in the heats it's usually an improved veteran against a newcomer (which are often painfully flawed and largely untested).
You'll like the semi-finals...

3:54 reminds me of Rameses II in series 2, does anyone agree?

This series is turning out to be really... I mean REALLY great!
I don't know about you but wouldn't that be cool if we could fight our robots?... Like Doomsday vs. LRW?
I see you also have the new battery packs :O
I don't think I'll be getting any of those any time soon XD
Scorge120 2 years ago
I would buy one of the li-pol battery boxes, but they cost too much...
zimvaider 2 years ago
I came into some great and generous fortune - which went straight to the batterys!
I'd have to build a harder, better, faster, stronger robot to challenge you Scorge. All mine now weigh under 850 grams!!! D :
That said, hell yeah... ; )
ochayedonald 2 years ago
WAIT, How would you fight robots if you dont even live in the same country?

We can't, but WE CAN DREAM CANT WE???
Perhaps we could do a webcam fight...
