This was good, but I love hip hop, and even though I'm not a muslim, I've studied Islamic influence on hip hop. I've also studied Islam. I've noticed how so many people of every religion and race have fallen victim to mainstream hip hop trash. Much of underground and old school is different. Poor Righteous Teachers were 5 Percenters, and even though traditional muslims find them vile, their message was good for the youth.

Hophop was created in 1970s by poor kids from S Bronx. It wasn't created in 1991 (over 12 years later). It was created to bring kids together who were living in poverty and to bring them some joy. It was competitive, and unifying. Gangster rap didn't arrive until late 1980s with NWA (from Oakland/Scentral LA/compton).
Speaker fails to mention all four elements of hiphop. Only mentions one: the emcee (rapping). Graf, turntablism, breakdancing are the others

What he fails to mention is many of the listeners of hiphop back in the day were black and latino kids. Many white people compared blacks and latinos to monkeys and baffoons as well. This is classic racism. Would the Prophet (pbuh) approve of comparing kids to monkeys? I don't think so, I like to think the Prophet loved kids. moving on..

Hiphop has more elements than just the emcee (who raps): breakdancing, graffitti, the DJ or turntablism are elements.
Hiphop wasn't started in 1991, but 1970s when Kool Herc threw parties for kids in the S Bronx Ghetto. These kids were black and latino. For the most part, I agree with the brother.
There's rappers promoting violence, but not with the intention of promoting it. They are telling the stories of their lives, while the youth take it seriously instead of learning something from it.
The rappers he mentioned above really have no positive impact on todays youth. Look at KRS One, Nas, Common, Gangstarr, Talib Kweli, Mos Def. These people's raps have meanings to them.

Mashallah he speaks the truth, ive seen it with my very eyes how this can distroy people! Ive learned from experience that islam is the truth that everything that all the rap vidz n all that are pointing to is only for dunya an SHORT term pleasure that would usually result u getting shot in the head 3mins lata. Wallah we dont know how much of a blessing it is that we have islam. And if we continue uppon this path that we are leading we wil eventually loose it and not even know.

jesus and the other prophets were muslim. Islam means submittion to god. If they submitted to god they were muslims. They did what allah told them do, so if they fulfilled their duties they were muslim

a moslem, believe in Jesus Christ as the 24th Prophets, believe in Gabriel as the Angel of Messenger, believe in Adam, Noah, David, Moses, Abraham as all the prophets (messenger of god).

God sees everyone all equal, he is also very Fair in giving. He gives christian more riches than moslem. He may also granted a christian heaven, and send a moslem to hell, depending on the person bad or good deeds.
A christian can also go to heaven. Because Islam sees god as a Fairest.
Jewish, Christian, Moslem, they all are the same. They believe in God, holy book, Saint, Angel. Jewish -> Christian -> Islam. That is how the religion has been perfected.

So whys a Muslim that thinks gangster rap automatically better than any of us Kaffir? Or are only certain unbelievers Kaffir, because I can think of some Muslim examples...
Oh and do you know, the term "Kaffir" was a derogatory term used by Arab slave traders to describe their slaves. It was later adopted by white slave traders who they traded with and is still used by some 'white' Africans, and of course some 'Muslims'. Or did the Kaffir just dirty the word?

Kaffir is a term to describe someone who has received the news about Islam, and still refuse it existence and do not embrace it. Kaffir is also an equivalent to the western terminology "Heathen". If the christian have "heathen" we have our "kaffir".

Do you think its going to do Islam's reputation good to show everyone else that you think your superior in some way to them? By that I mean do you truly believe all Muslims are in some way superior to each and every single Kaffir on the planet? Because if you do your then saying even the lowliest, most unclean, of all the 1.5 billion Muslim in the world is better than even the best and the brightest non believer. Big words, big words!

In sight of God, the one who believes in Him is better than the one who doesnt. There is no class system in Islam, people are better than others only in their "taqwa" which is sometimes translated as piety/righteousness and so on.

Islam teaches everyone to be equal. Black, white, arab, non-arabs, asian they all the same status. Its their good deeds and actions make them differents.
(Did you remember the time Black people is being killed and tortured by white people in America?) - Does Christian teaches everyone to be equal?

So why the term kaffir if you believe everyone is equal, why do you need a name for them, why do you think they should go to hell would be another one? Why should someone who's only ever done good things be punished with hell for not believing? And if your going to use that word, what do you honestly think about the Muslims who use it because they discriminate? You know, the ones who call people "dirty kaffir".

The Islam that kills and tortures is not Islam, they are not islam, they are the wrong religion. Osama bin Laden is not a moslem neither does all those suicide bombers.

I don't see all bad responses to my comments... I didn't know Christians, anyone other than Muslims where allowed into your paradise until I read one. Yours might be fairer than the catholic's hell there...
Take it as a gift if all my nagging is helping your cause... Its not just Osama that kills, what about the Muslims who wanted Rushdie dead, or the Danish cartoonists. You see my point?

Salman Rushdie is an author of a book. His book has portrayed Islam in a bad way.
Lets put it this way, What if someone wrote a book that portray Christians as Evil and a Cult. Would it make you angry?
But you see the country that want Rushdie dead is Iran, they are a bit on the extreme side (no offense to Iranian).

I find all of these "extreme Muslim" rants to be hilarious. I mean sure, some of them talk about killing people over silly things, but America IS killing Muslims over silly things. So uh... Its ok, hes not really throwing insults, hes alot more respectful than a lot of other posters. hes just asking questions. even though he doesnt know much about muslim belief besides what hes been told.
