I just purchased a an S780 mistrio and it has a telescopic extension tube. This thing is built like a Heckler and Kotch gun or Leopard 2 tank. It's the perfect weapon after you call in the exterminator to carpet bomb the Teleban bed bugs. Just replace the bag in this case after you finished vacuuming. The old bag should be ziplock bagged and tossed outside in the garbage. Terrorists and bed bug beware or I will snipe you with the extension hose.
You actually can use the canister hose extension kit for the s7 series. There is an adapter that all s5 canisters come with. Many people don't know what this is for. You can purchase this separate and you put in on the end of the hose extension that you would normally place the adapter for your canister. Its a sealed, tight fit to prevent dust from coming out. The adapter will go right on the handle of the upright, just like a normal tool.
@aventpromo Hey ok.Cool.I'll have to check into getting that.It makes it easier to dust and other stuff with a longer hose.Thanks.Are you enjoying your S7?
It may have bag costs, but consider this: It fits under furniture easier, it's quieter, has a longer cord, has adjustable suction, it's easier to turn, it blows exhaust air straight up and not forward(as my Dyson does, blowing the dust I'm trying to vac) and it lays flat to fit under beds. I'll never go back.
@Soldier0117 Tough one. I'd say Miele S7 over the Sebo. I think the Miele S7 has proven itself, and has way more features then the Sebo X4 or X5 does, however Sebo still holds the trophy for reliability. Sebo uprights have been on the market for much longer then Miele S7's (first German made upright by Miele), only time will tell if Miele S7 uprights will be as durable as the Sebo's have been. So far, so good though.
@GoVacuums I have owned a Miele S7 for about 1 year now. I have a pretty severe dust allergy and this vacuum is the best I have used for cleaning and dealing with dirt/dust. I actually use it to clean filters on air purifiers and other cheap vacuums that I use for garage/shop areas. It is the only device I've owned that is 100% efficient at removing dust in a way that you don't have to come into contact with it again. To those with dust allergies--- A Miele is expensive but well worth it!
Are the miele dustbags/seal strip free from pesticides? - i read a review that said some of these types of bags contain them which is what eliminates odours ??
not a bad vac but it does have ongoing costs of bags unlike the dyson. each person will have a different opinion as their circumstances are all different. Unfortunatly alot of salespeople prefer miele over dyson as there is stacks more profit dollar in the miele.
@182aussiebassist I think an easier explanation of why people in this industry prefer Miele over Dyson is more because after a salesman sells a Miele, he knows that a customer will never bring in that machine angry because it's broken while he's in the middle of a sales demo of that machine. This is my personal experience anyways, I used to cringe when I saw a Dyson coming back in for warranty repairs, and it happened a lot. In 2 years of S7, not a single warranty repair has come in yet.
@GoVacuums lol, dyson cleaners are a joke, those are fancy fashion devices but not serious cleaners, they dont have bags but it takes a long time to fill a bag and how much bags you can buy for the price difference to a dyson? personally i hate bag less devices and i dont wanna see all the dirt spinning around in them, it looks nasty and u have to remove the dirt very often.
@182aussiebassist Is there something wrong with making a dollar for the little guys?James Dyson keeps all the profit for himself..Greedy!!Then he shits on The English and moves the production plant from there to maylashia...Dysons cost the same but with horrible warranty support and call support from Dyson.Miele is better built, better materials and top notch factory support. The Dyson is a far Forth place or soo..So yes Vac stores love them. They have more power and just last longer..
@panaclean775 No unfortunately Miele has not yet come out with an extension hose kit for their S7 uprights. The only one they make is currently for their canister vacuums. Miele uses a metric sized hose, but it is not the same sized as the Dyson. It really is a unique sized hose, and the only other manufacturer that i know of that makes the same sized attachments are Samsung canisters. I hope this helps.
I purchased an S7 last year and sold it after 4 months use. Sadly I just couldn't live with its size and the swivel neck was too heavy to turn. I now have a Sebo X1.1 and I'm very impressed with it even though its a traditional push/pull upright vac. Miele have tried hard but Sebo still wins on its simplicity.
Caypok is synthetic pet hair. It's basically stuffing that's used for upholstery, We used to use real pet hair until we had customer that was terribly allergic to cat hair, and ran out of the store sneezing, and wheezing, we decided to use fake pet hair. It has almost identical texture and feel to actual pet hair.
All the swwepers from the United States are being made in either China or Mexico, if I can't buy American made, I might as well buy european made, I live in Philly, where can I find a dealer here, and what are these nice sweepers going for?
they list at $950, Expensive? yes but isn't bad for a quality vacuum, I mean my Riccar Radiance is $1100 and if you want a Kirby or Filter Queen you will pay $2000 give or take. But this one or a Radiance has so much more value built into it in my opinion cause both of them are warrantied better, trap dirt much better and you are not getting something that is based on a very antique design and will last just as long
they also have the Twist which I think starts at either $650 or $700 and has all the same basic features as this one shown here; the 360 head, 39ft cord, the filtration isn't quite as good as this one but still very good and hey I mean it's a Miele it will still trap more dirt then your average joe vacuum cleaner
I am a Miele Dealer from TN, and the only thing else I would mention for your demo is the Automatic Mode with the higher end Miele S7. If everyone used this feature in the US we could shut down 4 power plants! Thanks
would like to know Automatic mode does to save power, I'm guessing its something that sets itself according to how much dirt in carpet or something like that?
The Auto setting will actually adjust itself to the proper suction setting, no matter the surface you're cleaning. If you are vacuuming your curtains, you don't need the same power you do when you're vacuuming the floors, so the Auto setting turns the motor (and uses less electricity) down, and lowers the sucution power.
