I had an endoscopy 30 years ago. I had to attend a meeting in the afternoon. The dr said it was done without anesthetic in Japan so if I was willing he would do it that way for me. It was a piece of cake and I watched through an eyepiece linked to the camera. I was a bit put off by the slimy juices in my stomach. I walked out of the hospital an hour later. Also had my tonsils removed with a local anesthetic I held my mouth wide open to let dr saw away with his knife That was a bit gruesome
