oh my gosh, people, it doesn't matter whether there is a road on the runway (btw: in fsx this happens also, even with addons) i work with both, or rather: i work with x-plane and play with fsx. X-Plane is just a lot more realistic, and that's what count's for a good SIMULATION (not game.) --> X-Plane is better for those who are real pilot's or want to become those, and fsx is more fun for the average user.

I have both x-plane and fsx i love them both x-plane has been looked into by the FAA who are the leading authorities on who passes as a pilot and do re-currency trainings with pilots in the cockpit hell they even certify if a type of aircraft is airworthy...clock hours on x-plane have fun and take in the scenery with FSX..best of both worlds now stop arguing boys and girls.

Depends on what you want, realism or eye candy. Xplane is authorized by the FAA to be used as a real world training aid for real pilots. That tells you how realistic it is. However, it does not look as good or have the eye candy that fsx has. That being said, Xplane runs on older computers. FSX does not.
