in this pacific case these people prayed and had faith without works so everything they prayed for was void. for the people who dont know wether there is or isn't, when a calamitie comes the first thing people say is GOD help us . so if you dont believe when it comes i hope you ready. never the less i enjoyed this sureal footage., tree man
@MrTaken09 Thanks, I often pray and offer Prayers but generall address as to whom it may concern. I am very Happy you visited, commented and Know GOD. HarOLOD
It's not that I "don't know" it's that I don't care.
Just the other night I was discussing with my wife that I wish there was a god. Someone that would be a big daddy in the sky, take care of me when I'm dead and at that time reunite me with past family and friends. I'd be happy to venerate such a being. Thing is I'm not so eager that I'm going to make a god up, attribute feelings, positions and dictates to him.
If there's a god, and he's hopefully not a bastard, I'll find out soon enough.
But there is this other problem. What does God want? If you follow any teaching how can you be sure it is what God wants you to do? People get the most contradictory idea's from the same piece of text.... hence the large number of types of Christianity for instance.
God 'just' being "I am" is indeed the best starting point and following your conscience the best way to live.
Most people I know seem to have a conscience, many people who make the news don't seem to have a conscience, especially White Collar law breakers! What do I, having no conscience go by? What seems to work is I think; what would PuppyZwolle do in this case, and before you it was other people I respected. HarOLD
If life can be shown to be a completely normal development of chemistry under the appropriate conditions, assuming of course we can properly identify life when we see it, then your god would be . . . . . . the universe. At that point, I think using the word god would simply be confusing and misleading.
"You are a child of the universe, no less then the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you..." Desiderata Thanks PuppyZwolle, insightful comments always. HarOLD
It's a funny sort of pun, to "weigh in" on God. God as an abstract would of course have no mass. There are those who believe that God is all around us, so in that case he (or She!) would have a mass equivalent to all the matter and energy in the universe. Or perhaps god simply weighs a paltry few kilos? Would be pretty boring for an omnipotent deity!

Good one HarOLD. :)

Nice video. The usefulness of prayer is an interesting topic. The comparative virtue levels of theists, agnostics and positive athiests is too.

Research I remember is that agnostics and athiests seem to meet death better than Christians. HarOLD

Agnostics are the best. ;^)
You know you kinda quote scripture when you say; "God is is."
Science does have a better track record over praying and as god is everywhere I'd take my prayers along to the doctor.
I firmly believe in that 'old Islamic saying':
"Trust in Allah but tie up your camel".

My favorite quote on that is:
" All is one, I am a piece of a universe trying to understand itself."
It may just be a right way to look at things.
