  • i want to completely hide it, now you have to have one block above ground is there any way for that?

  • Thank you! This was very helpful.

  • Great vid

  • Thanks! I was really stuck :)

  • gr4Mm3r F0r3V3r!!!11!!

  • Thanks! I suck at these things.

  • Alpha. LOL

  • @Swi7chB4CK What of it?

  • Thanks.

  • I tried doing something like this but failed.

  • How does the torch send energy upwards?

  • @justinlovespastry yes torches send out energy to every block around it except the one its attached to

  • brilliant.

  • wer lust hat auf meinem server mitzuspielen, einfach bei mir melden ; )

  • пацан да ты гений ! сам придумал?

  • is this possible with piston, using that to make a door :D

  • @armor5guardian yep but ill take some time :O i made few my self (and i can open them from the inside and outside :D

  • mine doesn't work the torch under doesn't turn off when i turn the lever :(

  • @MinecraftGirl2 Go back to the kitchen, that might work.

  • @SolacePiano

    I love you.

    That is all.

  • @MinecraftGirl2 The torch must be placed on top of "powered" block to turn off. The block is powered when redstone is on top of it or the redstone wire is pointing to it. So, if you want to turn off the torch, it must be one block higher than the wire and wire must be pointing towards the block the torch is on. I hope this helps!

  • @martys1103 nope like it's perfect and i put the bricks on to hide it and it don't work and i'm not stopping no red stone but if i can't see the circuit it don't work

  • @martys1103

I have the same problem as minecraftgirl

its just not turning off, even though i got it pointing at the block

  • Very useful, thanks!

  • Very useful always wondered how to do that!

  • my red stones torches seem to always be "on" i cant turn them on and off with lever..

  • @KenoKatze They might not be connected to the leaver.

  • Thanks!

  • Wow that was helpful! I couldn't figure it out.

  • Very helpful!

  • Now just to do this all over my auto death traps and anti greif system and we will be set for NEVER EVER LOSEING MY STUFF.......

  • cool, thx

  • Wow, nice!

  • Cow: "Nooooooooo."

  • This was helpful, thank you!

  • why is there no window on your door?

  • Thx man soo mutch

  • nide hide, thanks now i know it

     [=

  • I just can't get these working >:(

  • even my dog know about it

  • My redstone torch stays lit

  • What do you record with?

  • ...nothing new...

  • .... I already knew that.

  • @xUtuber117x

    And you still watched...

    Not very clever, are you?

  • @akzorx22 Well.. from all the views and likes it had, i thought this was some new, elaborate technique or something.. but it wasn't.

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • Cheers

  • now that hatches are out I've been trying to create a drawbridge but I didn't know how to hide the circuits...thanks

  • <3

  • omg. this was the best tutorial ever..

  • thumbed up, wel done.

  • really? a tutorial for this?

  • Now can you make a video showing how to make it work with a redstone torch in place of the lever? THATS what I want to do to hide the circuitry, so its harder to open the doors to my storage tunnel.

  • @Xarian Make an inverter. Make a circuit with the door, hook up redstone dust, then place a block, on the side the with redstone put a torch, then on the otherside (NOT ontop) put some redstone dust. hook it up to another inverter and a redstone torch, when u remove the torch, the inverters turn the output into an input.

  • That cow is pissed off.. xD

  • thx alot! now to hide tnt on multiplayer >:)

  • This also works with little sisters :)

  • @xSNiiP3PwNx err.. so if i dig a hole and stick my sister in my door opens? thanx im going to try it out right now! :D

  • @GmadaGfack There weaker then normal redstone.. There only good for 1 to 2 times... Just break them and replace.

  • @xSNiiP3PwNx kk thanks :)

  • @xSNiiP3PwNx so if i stick my sister in a hole a door automatically opens?.. wow gonna try it right ahead! :D

  • doesn't work for me :/

  • LoL First I red " Minecraft: How to ride redstone circuits. "

  • @TheProNerd

    first you red? WTF?

  • Thank you.

  • minecraft 1.5 is out!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much, thank you for making a video that shows a great example and you knowing what to do. Also, thank you for not giving annoying off-oiunt commentary. From my heart to yours, thank you. (:

  • Whats for exacctly the redstone torch ?

  • @EroticccPk the same way, the presure plate sends a positive charge to the block its on, just like with a button/handle

  • Your door is backwards.

  • mega thx you've helped me soooooo much!!!

  • That was a switch wired to a door, hardly a circuit.

  • Dude you do not know how to use redstone circuits you are not an expert from my point of view

  • so you can put redstone torch 2 blocks under the door? How come it didn't work for me... I've put a button 2 blocks above the redstone torch, but when I pressed the button, nothing happened... oO

  • @Crazope the button only sends a signal to the dust

  • @Ealija No switches and toggles with power the block they are attached to and any adjacent block (other than diagonals) that lie under it.

  • @Ichvyenichalster oh,thakts that you told me :) im a starter with redstone. The only things i made are a double redstone lock for my door(you never know :P) and a rapid pulse from a tutorial :P

  • @Ealija My suggestion is to learn the very basic concepts and understand the workings of all the logic gates which you can find on minepeidia. Believe it or not, redstone circuitry in this game is identical to logic used in electrical components and cpu's today so it's cool stuff.

  • @Ichvyenichalster i got told that yesterday....deja vu

  • @Ealija ooooooh, okie thnx

  • ok cool. thanks this is actually what I've been looking for. does this method still work with a couple redstone repeaters thrown in? the track im using is about 32-35 redstone long. :) (yes it is also underground. does it matter that the door is iron?

  • @TechnicallyNotGuilty It probably will still work, just try it out.

  • Too bad you haven't commented it, still awesome though. I use another method, which also works with pressure plates. See my videos for more information.

  • hey i can't do it with pressure plates help?

  • @ryannguyen123 Hey I don't know if you figured it out or not since you're reply was a week ago but with pressure plates you have to put the redstone wire straight under the pressure plate, like he does here but behind the lever? You have to do it but under it.

  • @StrafeSauce thanks

  • Awesome stuff!!! Here, have an internet for cleaning up my house!

  • Is it just me, or does glass not cut off redstone if it's placed diagonally to it?

  • This doesn't make any sense at all! It's bullshit!

  • @MinersCraftTube How does it not make sense? And please don't cuss.

  • @chester10999 It's not how circuitry works! Also, why am I not allowed to cuss? It's YouTube, and if you can't take a little bit of beating that's not even directed against you, why are you here? It's the internet, and you need to get used to it.

  • @MinersCraftTube A few things. First, explain how this isn't how it works. Everything is in completely working order. And second, you are technically allowed to cuss, it's just that I usually block whoever cusses at me. Also, I have gotten used to it. You should see the list of people that I've blocked.

  • Ic. Redatone torches can so call connect up wards thx!

  • 4 people could not even find redstone.

  • OH! So you can use redstone torches to go up through blocks... that helps...

  • cool

  • I'm not sure what's going on but when ever I try this, almost exact same way, when I lay down my torch, it turns on the red stone circuits and the lever won't shut them off

  • You need to have the redstone touching the bottom of the block that the torch iss on so that the power of the wire will be inputted inted of receiving

  • @ezio1462 the switch has to be facing the door

  • nice i learnt a lot compared to the one that linked me here :D

  • good

  • Love it! Great little tutorial! Good job :D

  • Ohh you can i was just doing it wrong :D

  • This was changed in the new patch i think, u cant put redstone underneath a switch, or u can, it just wont work :*(

  • @Hazzbazzy you have to put it under the block that the switch is on

  • @Ravarefurrywolf

Exactly when was the last time you checked? Before, redstone circuits could be destroyed by either a mob or the player trampling over them... A patch, released not too long after redstone was added and while Minecraft was still in alpha, was then released to stop this from happening. I have note block circuits that are exposed and animals literally spawn on them, and nothings happened so far.

  • Thanks for the video! Me and my buddies are laying out underground wire systems for a prison we are making. This helped a ton!

  • FINALY thank you now I know what to do with those powered torches thank you i was getting so frustrated

  • Thanks for the little tutorial!

  • I seem to be having distance issues with this...

  • nice it worked.but then how do u open it from the other side.

  • that is perfect^^...and besides.....its protects it from the pigs^^ (they will eat it!!!)

  • @Ravarefurrywolf No, they won't.

  • @MrNegativeComments last time i checked, they do. you leave out a line of redstone out. and they destroy it. i tested it myself. set them down.....went back to find some floating on the ground with pigs around.

  • This didnt work for me :(

  • that cow needs to stfu

  • cant you just place the level in the bloc on the side of the door?

  • what actually redstone does?

  • @o0DeathStrike0o Redstone is bacically electricity... :p

  • nothing special, why would you post a video for it ? (neither liked nor disliked)

  • @vidminasm Because this is a quick, short video that tells you exactly what you need to do.

  • i like it

  • i tried to do this with minecart switch. couldnt ge it to work

  • I made a simple combination lock underground, didn't take very long to build but took up over 30x30 blocks :P that was on a creative SMP tho so I had unlimited materials

  • thumbs up if you though it said ride XD

  • Just put the redstone wire where you need it and put some dirt blocks on top, how simple is that? xDDD

  • @Uberslime not as simple as ud think

  • @Uberslime thats what he did :/

  • I CAME!

  • thank you so frigging much!

  • thats not even hard too do i cant people we didnt think of that lmfao !

  • doesn't work, I copied it block for block.

  • how about people that have distance issues check the minecraft wiki on redstone circuits...

  • damn thats smart

  • Distance problems can be fixed by a reapeter

  • not that complicated, i had to put my double door wrings 2 blocks under ground

  • but there is a problem, in the darkness will spawn every time the cave sounds

  • @TiTanAEfull english?

  • Thanks a tonne, this helped me hide my redstone for my mine cart network.

  • I am curious is there any way to do this on even ground? I am trying to switch rails (14 blocks away ) and for some reason if its a flat ground your wiring wont work. It has to be uneven like your example.

Is there a way around this problem?

  • @Twisted86 There's a limit on the distance that current can be carried by redstone wiring. A maximum of 15 redstone blocks in distance, measured from the current source, will be lit up (not a maximum of 15 blocks total - you can have the wiring split). You're likely running into distance issues. You'll have to use a repeater (a double NOT gate).

  • GENIOUS, MAN

  • nice video thanks

  • I made a simple circuit with one inverter that opened double doors when a floor plate was pushed. It is neatly hidden in the wall and works really well. To make it double sided would be the next step.

  • mebbe tht doesnt work and ure just pressing the lever, while your cleverly dometicated creeper hides until u press the button and he pops up realy fast, opens the door, and uses his active camo to disquize itself. then u give it a treat by giving itmeat from yourmeat factory. a pig mangages toescape and sets off the domesticated creeper's tnt exposion thing and dies. you are sad. you make this video becuz u r anngry tht ure creeper died and want to trick every1 on opening a door wit fakeredstone

  • @BattlefeildBeast Oh God please work on your english for the sake of everyone who has the unpleasantry of reading your comments.

  • Thanks man, I was having the hardest time duplicating a video untill I saw this, it put it into perspective what I need to do exactly

  • autism? wtf tag xdd

  • Question. How come if I build a completely identical setup to the one as turinpt2, the torch beneath the door stays lit no matter what the state of the redstone dust leading up to it is in? my blood is boiling with frustration over knowing that i'm doing this properly and yet still not getting the results that i want. why wont the damn torch turn off?

  • @1RodeToAsaBay I have the same issue and I think it got patched.

  • @sasyboncho

What do you mean by that? It used to work and then they fixed it to *not* work?

  • @1RodeToAsaBay In theory, I suppose so. Maybe that's not what they were striving for? You could try to make 2 dirt blocks and put the torch on the end and the redstone at the start...

  • very useful, thanks!

  • For all you assclowns ripping on "obvious" tutorials like this...new players have to start somewhere, and it might just be this is the first video they see which shows redstone wiring 2 blocks under. Your sarcasm and petty flames just illustrate your incredible narcissism.

  • NICE ! i dont even play the game but i have always wonder if u could hide it like that

  • thats ingenius why hasnt anyone thought of it yet xD

  • Nice!

  • cool

  • Ha! But you inverted it.

  • What a simple, yet brilliant video. This small idea can help make my future redstone endeavors much more visually appealing.

  • i have a problem, when i put that last torch, it will be on forever! even when i pull the switch its on.... what could i do to fix it?

  • @sebbeviper if you cant see it, whats the big deal?

  • @LovehammerMedia because, it will give power at all times, wich means that the door always is open

  • @sebbeviper you cant have the wire on the same level as torch

  • This isn't helpful when i have a basement...

  • @AgentPinoy67 make the basement deeper.
