Actually, he was already Darth Vader the moment he swore allegiance to Sideous and the dark side. This just shows how Vader got the notorious form that we're all familiar with. It went to prove that even if Anakin did became more powerful with becoming a Sith lord, it was certainly not worth the price he paid for it. Just my opinion.

So Obi-Wan would have been in his seventies or eighties, while Anakin/Vader would have been in his fifties or sixties. You had three people in the original involved with Vader's character. David Prowse (Vader in the suit), James Earl Jones (Vader's voice), and Sebastian Shaw (Anakin unmasked) in ROTJ 1983.

What an odd thing to say. H. Ford famously told Lucas - "George, you can type this sh*t but you can't say it." The original trilogy worked so well by drawing un-ashamedly from the hokey dialogue of the 30's to the 50' serials , to many folk the prequels seemed poor in comparison. Often, very serious film writers have echoed this sentiment. As for the idea that I should never comment on any art form I cannot re-create? Well... there's so much wrong with that I don't know where to begin...
