  • Awesome performance by Uncle Peanuts. He is a very young 80 this year and still performing. Check him out on Kirk Whalum's The Gospel According To Jazz Volume III. Inspiring--Cheers--EL

  • Peanuts Whalum is the ultimate entertainer. I used to frequent Pierre's Lounge in the Adam's Mark Hotel, St. Louis on weekends just to listen to Peanuts perform. It was there I fell deeply in love with Jazz . Thank you Peanuts for the life changing experience you gave me. Because of you, I am now a jazz performer. You are a most gracious, kind gentleman.

  • nice i like it.

  • is he doing a nat king cole voice? this song is great by Dinah Washington

  • Thats Rob Block on guitar and Jeff Anderson on bass.

  • Is that John Farrar on guitar?

  • Even though I'm a drummer, I still think it's cool when he plays the hi-hat with one foot sometimes when he plays w/out a drummer.

  • We can't wait to hear this incredible performer here in Cincinnati! Just found out he'll be at The Blue Wisp on Sept 19 and 20...we'll be there! Also got an email that he's celebrating his 80th birthday in St. Louis on Sept 7th at Brandt's Cafe...word is out that his nephew Kirk Whalum is showing up.

  • I used to play with him , at Fedoras , and Hillary's in St Louis . That was a musical education.

  • Beautiful!

So I went out immediately and bought a CD :P

  • Kirk is awesome; Peanuts is beyond......as close as you can get to heaven!

  • I like that kirk can do smooth jazz and straight ahead. Not many do that and are sucessful at it :)
