  • I saw a flash game online once that had totally different characters, but based on SF4's character models, like editing how the characters worked. It was okay, but tells me that a character creation mode is doable, especially for 2.5D fighters like Street Fighter 4 and Mortal Kombat 9. Just let me chose my normals and specials, but for balance, don't let me change the amount of difficulty in the move commands.

  • down forward low punch = hadou-ken, all the others are copy

  • ok at 5:47 i swear he screams shoryuken but still that was pretty badass

  • hmmmmm nothing to say lol....still looks like a fun game

  • How did I get here lol???

  • Can you do an exhibition for the first game on the SNES? That's the only game in the series I own :'[

  • @BrawlYoshi How about the arcade version, instead?

  • @MHMemeDoubleYourFun Sounds good :)

  • poor bull

  • @MHMemeDoubleYourFun you know what, instead of calling this a "ripoff" I think it should be called a look alike. True it was popular in its time. But it was mainly because its similarities to sf2.

  • @MHMemeDoubleYourFun are trying to imply that fighter history is not a direct copy of street fighter. Yes street fighter took some ideas from other games but at least they didn't copy ideas and looks from one major fighting game like fighter's history did.

  • @IcecoldSaiyan88 Anyone who likes "ripoffs" don't consider them "ripoffs" and look at their unoriginal features as genericized features. Don't judge by FH's looks.

Despite the controversy surrounding the court case that followed it, the first FH was an out-and-out success. Successful enough to receive a tweaked-to-perfection sequel FHD, which rests comfortably as one of the best non-SNK fighting games available for the Neo Geo this side of Breakers (1996).

  • @WingmanVWXYZ really? Do you seriously think that fighter's history character are better? Let me answer that hell no they ain't better. Ken>Ray Ryu>Mizoguchi Bison>Kranov Sagat>Shay Guile>Jean. Y don't u try comparing FH to another SF copy WH? Fuuma=ray Hanzo=Mizoguchi Ryoko=Ryoko Dragon=Lee Brocken=Kranov. See FH=WH<SF

  • @dmayfield2 sf2 might not b but ssf2t is

  • I still love this game to the bottom of my heart...I can remember all the times I played this game back in the arcades.....Karnov's giant face on the screen....I prefer this game over SF2 actually...Mainly because the characters are so much more interesting, the OST in KICKASS!! And many of the characters would just own the SF2 Cast~ Mars>Gief Clown>Blanka Jean>Guile Karnov>Bison Guchi>Ryu Ray>Ken Ryoko>Makoto Chay>Sagat Lee>Yun and Yang....See Capcom?

  • I'd love to know what yall were smokin to say this was a good game...yeah it was decent as a rental but thats it....and judging by those insane combos this game was NOT balanced.

  • Retronauts brought me here

  • ????

  • Yungmie

    Likes: Kicking, infinite combos

    Dislikes: Punching, pants

  • That bull got the worse beating ever, LOL!

Great combos & set-ups in this video!

Does anyone know how to correctly do Ray's hidden Dynamite Special (the enhanced one)?

  • @VideoQuestEx

Hold back for at least 3 seconds and then press forward twice and press a punch button.

  • @ZioIsPwnzor:

Thanks: I'll give it a try!

  • where can i find an accurate "special moves list"?

  • I miss this game which I played 17 years ago.

  • Infinite Karnov Works

  • Street Figthers vs. Fighters History

  • @ColorzBox *looks at SF* …..Ryu, Ken Akuma, Sakura, Dan, Guy, Sean, Goken and Shenlong (to some extent). They have some differing moves but they all share most of the same movements making a vanilla hold over the hold group, if you can play as one you most likely can play as them all.

Fighter's History series has a more unique roster.

  • @MHMemeDoubleYourFun

Yeah I know what you mean, it gives alot of original characters to choose from, but I would love Capcom and Data East put this sue thing behind them and make this game happen in 2D, as in Marvel vs Capcom Style, like the first one, art style and all.

  • Game seems too spamtastic.

  • SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE! SPINNING WAVE!

  • tooooioioiingggg HAHAHA

  • Screw this...im calling PETA!

  • whats the deal with the bull.. lol

  • how to unlock the bull??

  • the punk guy is almost exactly like guile, down to the arm-whip sound projectile to a rising kick moves (albeit a spinning version)

  • In Japan, most players choose Makoto Mizoguchi, followed by Samchay, Ryoko Kano and the protagonist, Ray McDougal.

  • Matlok reminds me of Duck King from the KOF games.

  • Great !!

  • Considering this game's reputation as a shameless, soulless cash-in, I didn't expect it to look so... competent.

  • it's pretty solid. i mean, so many games at the time were SF2 knockoffs, so I don't understand all the fuss.

  • @onreload It is not a 'direct copy' (as Capcom argued on the first FH arcade), but a tribute to Capcom's masterpiece - a congratulatory rendition of a genre that was perfected by SFII, yet omnipresent since the heyday of Yie Ar Kung Fu. It was really low of Capcom to try to claim the entire genre as their own - and try to sponge poor old Data East for a few notes in the process.

It's main unique feature is the "weak point system", where different characters have different weak point locations.

  • @MHMemeDoubleYourFun You are so right! and I couldn't help but notice that CAPCOM's street fighter 4 ripped off some moves from the fighters history series. The two most glaring examples would be that Ken's shoryuken is now a twirling uppercut all the sudden. It even deals out damage the exact same way as Mizoguchi's. Abel's ultra combo is an exact recreation of Ryoko's super throws and slams.

  • @IcecoldSaiyan88 those came after the Fighters History games, you know that don't you?

  • @ManosHammer ya i just remembered that but ken was flames not blue wind. Also this came copied the shoryuken to began with.

  • @MHMemeDoubleYourFun Data East also pointed out that Ryu and Ken could be considered a rip off of Karate Champ with the white and red gi being the only differentiation between first and 2nd player. So in a way Data East was first.

  • @Kahalasama Capcom sure did combine competitive gameplay (1984 Karate Champ arcade) with multiple characters with different movesets in a "Who's the best?" tournament (1985 Yie Ar Kung-Fu arcade). But SF fans don't care, because they don't want to destroy their fond memories with the SF series.

In beat 'em ups, Irem invents it with Kung-Fu Master, then Technos and Capcom borrows/steals and improves it, then Irem counterattacks with the underrated Undercover Cops and Ninja Baseball Bat Man.

  • doesn't Mizoguchi's flying kick attack look familiar??

haha maybe thats where capcom got the idea for Dan's move XD

  • No it was from SNK Ryo Suzaki was a parody of Ryu

  • Wasn't Ryo more of a rip-off of Ryu.

And then Capcom made Dan as a parody of Ryo, and has been something of a joke character since, but look at the kick move in this game... it looks more like Dan's than Ryo's does

  • @protoman1214

Around the time the original Fighter's History arcade was released in 1993, Sega-AM2 also created a fighting game during the same year titled "Burning Rival", which has a character name Arnold, who uses a similar kick move called the Dragon Kick. Later, Sunsoft released Galaxy Fight, which Rolf in that game has another similar kick move, which is probably called the Rapid Crush.

  • Actually Dan is a parody of Ryo (moves), Robert (ponytail look and actitud) and Yur (stupid poses)..even the Dan;s dead Father use the same mask as Takuma when he is Mr Karate. U can see this in the parody game, pocket fighter

  • @BIMBOBOOP While Robert Garcia is most likely modeled after Steven Seagal.

  • @protoman1214

Karate Champ fighters = 1. either earliest cat in real life, 2. Tom (Tom & Jerry) or 3. Felix the Cat (first cartoon character on television).

    Ryu = Pink Panther

Ryo = Chester Cheetah (created by Ryu and Pink Panther creators for different companies)

Dan = That Krazy Krisp cereal character from that 2005 Geico commercial.

  • wrong

  • I wanna see that bull shoot some fireballs! XD

  • lol wtf is this?!

  • 11:21 - Oh, like Karnov even NEEDS to take advantage of a bug for a TOD combo. Never mind all the others with him in it are 100% damagers, even starting outside the corner. No wonder competitive FHD is Karnov vs. Karnov.

Besides, what exactly IS the 'Gottsui Bug'?

  • I was wondering that, but trying to read past that is beyond me. I think it's something that you have to delve into Japanese forums for.

  • wtf is up with the bull

  • Exactly what I was thinking! What's up with the bull? Or better yet, whose idea was it to put a bull into a fighting game?

  • yeah.. just like smashing a car in street fighter or a row of bottles in art of fighting.

    bonus rounds obviously...

  • gotta beat the game without losing a round, on at least difficulty 4

  • these combos are great! too bad Fighter's History sorta sucked....but awesome vid

  • this game was far more balanced than the early Street fighter games and better than fatal fury they need to remake it

  • Capcom would sue.

  • @GreatIntellect13 And lose while hearing Data East's largest objection that said the 1984 Karate Champ arcade was the true originator of the competitive fighting game genre, released three years before the first Street Fighter (1987) and seven years before Street Fighter II (1991).

Capcom already took some ideas from pre-SFII fighters like the combo system (Shanghai Kid), multiple characters with different fighting styles (Yie Ar Kung-Fu), multiple playable characters (Galactic Warriors), etc.

  • @dmayfield2 You can't be serious. Did you watch Lee's combos?

  • @dmayfield2 super street fighter and alpha 2 was more balanced than this.

  • @IcecoldSaiyan88 i'll agree that Alpha 2 was good but SF2 not so much i mean i like the game but Fighters history was better all around

  • Some pretty skills!

  • SPINNING WANG

  • Ole, toro!

  • i watched it again...and 0:25 had me like "WTF!!!". that was played out so smoothly it puts just about any pro wrestling match between two experts to shame. almost. haha. and the huge Roman grappler guy reminds me of Leonidas on steroids and with long hair. and once again some stuff makes NO SENSE like the action at 8:30

  • Yeah shit is stupid kid lol@!

  • Combos is sick.I stumbled across this looking for a Combo vid on Dark Legend 2 for Saturn.

  • From what I've seen in this video, in my opinion, for sheer devestating combo brutality that makes the opponent totally helpless, Zazie and Karnov are the best. Karnov is clearly a boss character as he just beats them across the screen to DEATH, and Zazie can get the fastest KOs without a doubt (I knew he was powerful but this is scary)! For cheap, simple, cheating (haha!) repetition, Matlok, Lee, Jean, and Yungmie. Interesting style and variety, I'd go with Mizogouchi, Ray, and Samchay.

  • why in the hell would they make a fighting game where you can do special moves over and over again for an infinite combo until you just win automatically...?

  • well, that guy uses charge moves, like guile from SF. this guy in 3:20 must pull back on the stick for 3 secs before releasing the move. theres no way a human can do the charge moves that fast without moving backwards. its obviously a computer playing the toon. all in all though, it was a kickass game. they sure did kick the shit out of that cow.

  • yeah Matlock's a charge character. i have this game on my Sega Saturn. it's a decent game, a collector's item now. but...it's not a computer player. everything is obviously in 2P mode. i know what you mean by that because I remember Guile on SF doing sonic booms when he SHOULDN'T, even on the original SF2 in the arcade! something is wierd and downright impossible about most of the stuff i see in this video! and he's a bull, not a cow. that's mean! he's been beat up, dont rub it in!

  • MAtlock's infinite is insanely hard to pull off and not practical in real play because you have to be at an specific distance, the opponent has to be cornered, the hit slowdown eats inputs and, well, the opponent moves lol.

  • I think the Macross was on and easy inputs.

I could do a few of these combos but some of them are insane.

  • 3:20 = MOAR CHEATING

  • 3:08 = WTF that's cheating!

  • CURELTY TO ANIMALS!!! LOL. Poor bull.

  • I know. That bull is getting his ass kicked by everybody and he has no chance to defend himself!

  • Answering a really old comment. Ryoko here is the young one when she first started out. the WH Ryoko is the older ryoko after she became a champion

  • Your wrong. World Heros was made by SNK while Fighters History was made by Data East. These two games are not related. The Ryoko characters in both games was based on the real life female Judo champion/legend Ryoko Tani. Just look for her highlight reels here on youtube.

  • Damn. Ryoko was in the first FH. you are correct. no connection.

  • Actually, World Heroes was made by ADK, which went out of business and now belongs to SNK Playmore.

  • @judofan If World Heroes is from SNK, then how do you explain the Alpha Denshi (or ADK) logo on the title screen of the game?

  • nothing like fucking up a bull

  • damn right

  • one word: dope

  • 1. the song is the song from when you fight the ox

    2. the ox is playable

    3. the soundtrack is impossible to find. i hope you know how to rip from a cart

  • the ox isn't meant to be playable... you can play as him via MAME cheats, but it wasn't programmed into the game

  • Since this post. I have obtained the soundtrack :)

  • Those combo's must have taken a hell of a lot of time to do. Pretty awesome.

I like the track that playing during all the combos. Is that from the game as well? Where can I get it?

  • I think the track is from when you fight the ox, although I've never played this game myself.

  • some one knows how is the ultimate move of lee? plz i need to know

  • karnov is so overpowered

  • pure awesome thx for sharing Im playing it now on my saturn

  • is the bull playable?

  • He fought a bull, and droped it, amazing!

  • Impressive Combos :)

  • Ray:

    It's a bagel!

    D-D-D-D-Dynamite!!!

  • The only thing I liked about the arcade version of this game is Ryoko's "MOUNTAIN STORM!" or whatever it's called: she did it here (white-outfit Ryoko) with the upgraded Dynamite version when she set the bull on FIRE for a lot of damage. You could kill someone with 3-4 of those grabs! The coolest part is it's unexpected from someone who looks harmless like her, but I guess that's the idea lol.

  • this game is batshit crazy!!!!

  • If I'm not mistaken this game was made by Data East. They are the same company that also made Karate Champ. You fight a bull in karate champ as well.

  • When Mizoguchi throws fireballs, does he say "Take a look at 'dat??" Its sooo funny when he does that imitation roundhouse spin kick and says "CHICHAWW!"

  • LOL LOL LOL LOL !!! Thank you for uploading this!! This is my FAVORITE cheesy game. Especially when Samchay says "MACHO!" and when he wins he just say "HAAAHHHHHHHHH!"

  • It's crazy how many moves are ripped off of Street Fighter. I've never played it but some comments here says it's fun so I guess it is.

  • @Kufuu Street Fighter isn't very original either. But both games are taking ideas from the past, and paying tribute to them while adding new ideas.

  • Great, a clasic game, make a long play.

  • Ryoko tossing the bull around like a basketball = win ;)

  • Baloooooooooooooooooooooooon !

  • LOL LOL! LMFAO, ROFL! ROFL!

  • imho :p

  • No, Just No..

SNK always makes decent games such as Last Blade 2 and King of fighters.

Capcom on the other hand just keeps making "Upgrades" to street fighter 2. THEN, they make a "SUPER ULTIMATE HYPER 15TH ANNIVERSARY CHAMPIONSHIP STREET FIGHTER 2 TURBO EDITION"

  • WTF do you mean???

King of fighters, Last blade 1 and 2, World heroes, Samurai Showdown, Fatal Fury, Neo Geo battle Coliseum.

Odds are you have never played any of them

  • I also forgot Art of Fighting. King of the Monsters, Buriki One, Savage Reign Aggressors of Dark Kombat.

So Yeah SNK > Capcom in fighting games (Unless your a mainstream gamer who like to pretend to be "Old School" because you downloaded SF2 off of xbox live.

  • Concordo plenamente!!

Na verdade acho que a série KoF sempre foi boa, com jogos bons até hoje. Mas nada supera a Capcom!! Ou seja, SF2 e toda a série Alpha são ÓTIMOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That, and... not many Capsule Computer fans seem to actually care about the other fightng games from said company.

  • it's for neogeo but data east made it

    BALUUUUUN!

  • that bull is the secret last boss when u beat the game with no losses. the bull has some related with Ray

  • love it

  • Jean = Vega + Kenshiro [hokuto no ken]

  • I like Mizoguchi's Senpuukyaku of doom.

I have made a infinite combo with HK + Senpuukyaku, cancelling after two blows and then HK.

  • I like Jean, he's like a mix between Guile and Vega! Matlock is jus like Guile! Put some of these guys on Mugen!! I love "Fighters History"

  • SNK was smart. Makoto Mizoguchi is in KOF MI2 Regulation A

  • Good game, good video, nonsense comments

  • THEY LOST AND THEY HAD THE ATTOURNEY GUYS OMG lol

    pheonix wright

  • Never seen that bull before. Is it a hidden character or something?

  • I did not know that...

  • I'd really love to play this game.

  • I never knew you could use a bull in this game.

  • Ray reminds me a like between Terry Bogard and Ken Masters

  • Karnov is a beast!! @_@;

  • Pabieda - VICTORY IN RUSSIAN.. KARNOV FOR THE WIN!!!

  • Karnov wins, lol.

  • WOW I Never Knew That Mizoguchi would be in KOFMIA as for Gicane your 100% True what you said.......

  • You can use a BULL in this game?!

I don't know whether that is cool or not...

  • I thought Ox was a World Heroes character.

  • And Ryoko too ... o_O

  • Wait, Ryoko's in this game? Gonna have to watch this again. I don't understand. Fighters History was a Data East property. I remember the lawsuit from Capcom years ago because of the character similiarities. If Ox really did appeared in World Heroes or some SNK game...oh I'm confused

  • Check from the second minute man

  • A character named Ryoko is in both games... and they're both based on a Japanese judo champion from the early 1990s. As for Ox... I thought he was a tribute to the bull you'd fight in Data East's Karate Champ. Don't recall him ever being associated with World Heroes in any way...
