  • OK, try listening at 9:00, you'll hear the skip at 9:12.

  • WTF ... this clip skips right at 9:12! This is remastered? Sorry ... It's great, an excellent performance, good sound ... but it skips. What a drag ...

  • Very good live version of this classic. sounds like they were doing the song more like the studio version. sounds great!!

  • no Genesis without Gabriel...

  • @operalover67 I like 2 songs on Trick of the Tale, then it went schlocky Wind/Three, then it just popped out completely. Abagagme. Phil dropped _a few_ excellent ones solo also but all else...Pop 40. Thanks for commenting.

  • @PalerShadeOfWhite Domino is anything but "popped out"

  • @MartinLutherPonies You know, I'm glad you wrote because the truth is I was simply feeling like a little bitch when I wrote that. I have not listened to even a high percentage of all the music by all members after 1975, so I am actually ignorant and uninformed, and have no leg to stand on. Only heard radio hits. Mea culpa. Sorry. Thanks for straightening me out. I will go straightaway and listen to Domino. And check out your channel.

  • @PalerShadeOfWhite EDIT: I'm exaggerating/generalizing a little and being overly harsh but I submit that the general drift is on target. Recall that this started from the blanket comment "no Genesis without Gabriel..." (operalover67) above.

  • this got to be one of the best live performances in history. thank you so much for uploading!

  • @halflaifjee yOUR'E VERY WELCOME. i TOTALLY AGREE. (oops sorry Caps Lock)

  • make sure to check me out also @drewellstv on @youtube

  • A flower???

    ..

    ...

    ......

    BANG BANG BANG BANG!!

  • Recorded in the town I was born in. Leicester University had some of the best concerts ever

  • @tupolev777 Thank you for taking the time to comments. Would love to visit England again.

  • Thank you, I do not understand why it is so hard to find a live version with Peter singing, almost everything you find is Phil singing, which is fine, his version of Apolclypse in 9/8s is amazing with such strong passion...but come on now this is the original live version...you cant beat that

  • @MrNotNiceGuy Thanks for commenting - I know of 5 or 6 live Supper's Ready PG versions in my YT Channel (have to put abbrevs, full URLs not allowed in Comments): youtube.com/watch?v=isz4QKiW-M4 , ... v=s2DKyWUy7_c , ... v=WehOTHQNBA, ... v=jlX4-bEF0gU, ... v=9VShmYLJFlA. Write back if you can't find them this way.

  • @PalerShadeOfWhite thank you for posting such great music

  • @highgroundstrike Thanks a lot for commenting. Don't thank me, thank the early ragtag hordes of hardcore technoid Genesis fans online who gather, keep and distribute bootleg Genesis material on the Web (from Torrents and rapidshare, etc.). All I did was slap some still image graphics on the MP3 file in a video editor.

  • you get it. im so high you get it

  • @ahgatonica I THINK I get it...I assume you are having a good experience to this music!

  • is there an audio at 9:09 to 9:12 ?

  • @falconfira I did not notice this before. Yes, there is proper audio at 9:09-9:12 in the original recording. The original .FLAC file from which I made this video does not contain the "drop out" you have pointed out. So something happened along the way in the processing. I apologize. You may wish to get the original audio file yourself, by typing into Google: GEN730225TM torrent or Genesis Leicester torrent ...

  • It was a day at Penn State in 1974 I think, we were at a apartment of a friend of mine sitting around smoking something or the other and he put this album on I looked at it and there was a picture of a fox with a red dress on I thought how strange and than the music started and it was love at first listen from that moment on I bought as many Gensis albums I could find.Thank you for posting this great version of Supper's Ready

  • @richchar I am one of those sad cases who did not know about Genesis at the time (around 1970-'75). I was a partier high school kid in 1974 (Jethro Tull LITP, King Crimson, ELP, Yes, etc.) and would have loved them. I didn't even know about Genesis at all until about 1980. Jeez.

  • @PalerShadeOfWhite these passages are from page #17 of The Companions of Jehu written by Alexandre Dumas pere--"Sir, I have heard speak of the Companions of Jesus," replied the magistrate with his jeering smile. "The Jesuits, you mean? That is not what I am seeking, sir."....Elisha consecrated Jehu King of Israel, on condition that he exterminate the house of Ahab; Elisha was Louis XVIII; Jehu was Cadoudal; the house of Ahab, the Revolution.

  • OMG, what an rendition. What a delight to hear, for the first time. How very kind of you to share this wonderful version. A most vivid stereo picture. Small regrets for drop outs. The best version, still, I've ever experienced. Very powerful!

    Thanks again for sharing this.

    Frank

  • @sikpikfrank So glad you enjoy it. "How gracious of you to take the effort to comment". ;-} -Kevin

  • Hah, I love how his voice cracks at 13:46. Proof of a real, amazing voice.

  • @GettingEmOutByFriday Very true. How about the need-for-Chloraseptic rasp he does in the 1973 Bataclan Supper's Ready excerpt [ youtube.com/watch?v=9VShmYLJFlA ]? Thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • @GettingEmOutByFriday Great username, by the way. "...it is my sad duty to inform you of a 4-foot restriction on humanoid height...twice as many in the same building site...

  • @PalerShadeOfWhite Heh, that's good, too. Thanks! Get Em' Out By Friday is one of my favorites :) I like your name too ^^

  • Since 1978, i am looking for this version. The first time i got it was 2005. Then it was missing. And i am happy to ,know that it is included again in the repertory

  • @balloassan Glad I put it on YT where you could find it again. Thanks for writing.

  • This is GOOD !!! Closing my eyes and feels like I'm there..

Intro story is fun ! I will let this song be played at my funeral.. It's gonna be al long show..

    Groetjes uit Zeeland !!

  • @kameelzee Thank you for commenting. Met dank aan Google Translate, ik weet nu dat Zeeland is een provincie van Nederland. We hebben een stad genaamd Zeeland in ons land de naam Michigan. "Flushing", een wijk in het stadsdeel Queens, New York, is vernoemd naar de stad Vlissingen in Zeeland. Welkom bij San Diego / USA, virtueel. Forgive my poor Dutch writing. ;-}

  • This is my all-time favorite version of this song. It's awful that it was not included on Genesis Live. I had a crap version from off the internet for years before I found a remastered version from the Dutch pressing of the LP on the internet about a year ago. So much better than the album version and from the other live versions I've heard. Thanks for putting it up. How did you get the entire thing up? Did you drop the bitrate? I tried to upload it myself, but it was too big.

  • @atheathorium Thanks for taking the time to Comment..The easiest way to answer is to ask you to search Google or YouTube Help for the following (or part of) words: "Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes." [Actually, I will send you a link by YT personal message.] Basically, the time limit is based on copyright and YT Terms of Service compliance.

As you know, changing bitrate will not change the time length of the song, and that is the issue. Take care.

  • A wonderful story but an amazing song! I love listening to the song while wearing headphones.. It feels like I'm really im Willow Farm :)

  • @DrRaymondHolmes Cool. I am going to dust off my headphones which I haven't used in 40 years. Thanks for the inspiration, Doc.

  • as soon as it started i nearly shat myself =D it was almost like part of "the hitchhikers guide" which my dad loves almost as much as this band... amazing job

  • @dropboys1 Thanks a lot for commenting. Don't thank me, thank the ragtag hordes of hardcore Genesis fans online who gather, keep and distribute bootleg Genesis material on the Web. All I did was slap some still image graphics on the MP3 file in a video editor.

    What is the relationship to Hitchhiker's Guide? I've heard of it for 30 years +/-...My recollection is that it was audio, no video. I'm going to go learn about it right now. Also, I keep a large roll toilet paper next to my PC ;-}

  • Wonderful! Love the audience's reactions. Thanks for posting PalerShade ofWhite.

  • @chinatree1 Thank you very much for replying. Yes, the audiences were great at that time. Take care.

  • This is amazing...thank you so much for uploading this...great quality...outstanding!

  • @makissoflife Thanks for taking the time to Comment. I didn't do much. We should really thank all the Genesis fans who have uploaded all these classics to the Internet and seeded torrents/rapidshares.

  • Great version. How did you exceed the 15 minute limit for uploads??

  • @joncapezzuto Thanks. Kind of long answer, please Google "your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes" and click the first result. Basically depends on being an uploader for a while, satisfying copyright and Terms of Service requirements [and other things(?)].

  • fantastic !!!!!!! thanks!!!

  • @ksjoyjespeace Thank YOU! Hope you found those URLs/Links I put in for you on the Supper's Ready Imperial College video: youtube.com/watch?v=4DSE2chFwXE
