@RCA1186 Bowser got around to eating the fish eventually... they were just quicker, and so it was harder to know when bowser would get one, so i didn't get any on video. As for the wild bacteria... Bowser was wild-caught originally. Maybe he needed a constant diet on "wild" bacteria? I knew it was a risk, but I went with the natural diet and it seemed to work. For what it's worth, I never fed Bowser dying or sick or easy-to-catch food.

The turtle only stayed in a tank as long as it was big enough; this tank lasted several months. After this tank, I decided to return Bowser to the wild. Also, I think the "cichlid" is a bluegill, also wild-caught from the same area as the turtle. The bluegill and other wild fish seemed naturally more aware and cautious of the turtle.

The turtle would eat more than half immediately and the rest over the course of a couple days. Basically, all he wanted to do was eat; the more I fed him, the more he grew!

@overtkill7 I enjoyed the other local native animals I collected for bowser's tank, but I always knew that the turtle was the dominant force. I would have really liked (to the point of getting bowser his own tank) to catch a small (6") northern pike... that would have been cool. They are hard to come by at that size though.
