  • 9:03 is in regards to myself :) you have nice taste in music good sir. also, could I install a pick guard on this?

  • I was so happy to hear you start playing The Impression That I Get by The Mighty Mighty Boss Tones :) Great demo. Just ordered mine today.

  • settled then, buying one for myself

  • When your playing AC/DC what amp setting are you using?

  • Got one today used I need to take it In to fix the tone knob

  • Cool playin man. What's the " pop punk" riff you play towards the end of the vid?

PS. Thanx for posting this. I'm definetly getting one of these :)

  • Thanks! That riff is just a little something I wrote in college --- not part of a song really!

  • Which are better the pickups your using or the Gibson 57 pickups? I Just got my Dot Studio today and I need some pickups I don't like the one's that came with them I want to upgrade.

  • Well, I haven't had 57 Classics, but I have heard they are beautiful sounding pickups. In this video, you're hearing the stock Epiphone pickups. I now have Burstbucker Pros in it, and they're great. If I hadn't scored a crazy deal on these BBPros, I would likely have a set of Seymour Duncan '59s in it.

  • i really had been wanting to put a burstbucker pro in the bridge and a gibson p 94 in the neck.. do you think it will sound ok and or have feed back problems when running pedals or anything like that in general

  • I haven't had any problems with feedback --- not even with my big Hot Rod Deville. I think a lot of the feedback chatter out there is hearsay, because I have gigged this guitar a lot with 0 feedback issues.

  • So this guitar is good for smooth jazz like george benson? If it is I'm going to buy one and is it good for jazz or rock?

  • I am not a jazz player, but I have dialed in some very warm, smooth, and woody "jazz tones" on the neck pickup with the tone rolled back. Keep in mind I swapped the original hot PAF style pickups out for more vintagey Alnico 5 PAFs (Gibson Burstbucker Pros)

  • Have u tried this guitar in live situations? How about the feedbacks?

  • I have played the guitar live quite a lot. I have not had any problems with unwanted feedback at all. To be fair, all those gigs were with a small combo amp that was mic'd, so the stage volume wasn't very loud.

  • Hey man do you like your amp i ont one,but keep hearing mixed things,IDK? Great playing man ive got a gretsch but i like the dots also there nice

  • You know, I like the Valvetronix amp very much. I have several guitar amps, from high end solid state to all-tube, and I play the Valvetronix the most because it's so easy to dial a decent tone in with it.

  • Is that "I Don't Trust Myself" at 1:30? It sounded pretty good. I really like the sound of the guitar in general.

  • Yep, that's my version of it at least --- thank you!

  • Best test i've seen so far! thankyou! now i know i've got to get one of these mofos!

  • Glad I could help. I really play it a lot now that I have upgraded the bridge and pickups. Fully giggable guitar with a great sound.

  • are these the factory pickups you are using?

    nice playing really enjoyed it

  • Yeah, those are the stock AlNiCo 5 pickups that came in it --- it has Gibson Burstbucker Pros in it now, and I think I like the stock Epiphone pickups better. Call me crazy.

  • WOW!!! Now that's something you don't often hear...

  • The new pickups are great pickups, but the stockers had a "directness" you can hear in the video, that really fit in with my ear well.

  • what color is that?

  • The color is "Worn Brown"

  • Way cool man... I'm thinking about buying one of these, so it was really helpful.

  • Thanks --- I'm really glad I could help! Like I said in my PRS video, "The primary goal of the videos I make of guitars is to give an idea of what they sound like. Most folks can find tons of pictures when they're guitar shopping, but not enough sound clips; and the clips that are out there are usually played with professional equipment and pro session players. I figure a regular guy playing on a cheap amp helps show the real sound."

    Rock on!

  • Two words for this guitar- Dirty Fingers! I got some on mine. They sound awesome!

  • Great stuff. Sent a couple comments but don't think they went through (learning this youtube thing). Anyway, love the guitar, leaning toward dot studio vs dot. Really want the DG-335 (big FF fan to alt to blues to country), but will wait for now. Questions: Have a musicman hd212 amp. Want a pedal to go from clean to effect then back while singing and playing for neighbors in the backyard. Thoughts? I'm open. Also, do you advise dot studio or dot? Really appreciate your expertise!

  • If I had to pick all over again, I would probably go for the Dot over the Dot Studio. They cut lots of corners with the Dot Studio (electronics, fretboard, tuners, bridge, et. al.) and it's becoming more apparent as time goes on. I don't use this guitar very frequently, maybe 1 out of 6 gigs and about an hour a week at home, and it's for the reason that it's more reluctant to intonate than any other guitar I have, it doesn't stay in tune very well, and I can't trust the electronics.

  • I've got the exactly same guitar and amplifier :)

  • smokin playing!!!

  • Thanks a lot --- glad you enjoyed it!

  • Thanks a lot!

  • Definately cool, bro!

  • Awesome clip, bro!
