never think that something like this could happen pumping Gas. guess you gotta be aware of anything around you, that might happen. What a terrible way to die,or even see happen.
@ Niselat, In reguard to your comment "WHY did it have to be a hot girl? Only ugly people should die in a horrific manner", I have NO RESPECT FOR YOUR UGLY SELF! You are VERY UGLY and apparently you know that which is why you said only you would like to die in this horrific manner. EAT YOUR WORDS!!! I hope someone beats you good namely the victims family.
As horrible as this is, I think we should ask ourselves "Would we still care as much if the victim wasn't a young attractive white girl?". I just watched a video on live leaks of some people accused of witchcraft being burned to death in kenya. There is only one video of it, but the practice is becoming more and more common. I don't think it has gotten enough attention.
the other woman did not die, so why did you speak of her in past-tense when giving her age "she was 29 years old" and you say the girl who died "is" 18 years old... should've been said the other way around.
@Sebizzar Absolutely. The god that people worship would not take a life in such a horrific manner. It's life, it's random and sometimes extremely tragic...
Typical woman driver. Why the heck did she steer towards the gas pumps?! If she was yelling out the window that her breaks were failing then obviously she was aware for a good amount of time to which she could have steered else where, hmmm -_-
the lady that was driving that red truck that she '' LOST " her brakes is a god damn moron. sorry to say. why would you head for a gasoline staion how bout you hit a tree or something. for her recklessness she killed a girl.
I pumped gas in Oregon (drivers cannot pump their own gas here) all of 2009 and quite possibly was at work at the time this happened. This story makes me realize how lucky I was to make it through that year. RIP Whitney
First off, honestly, a car is pinned up against a gas pump, in fire.
How would you move this car? remember that others have been injured as well.
Bottom line is that nothing could be done.
And, true, most people do not get involved when it comes to things like jumping into a fire or even things like a rape or assault, that is what the fire and police are for.
Sorry, but I would not be involved, survival instinct says flee.
It would be a few minutes before I would return, honest answer.
I feel sorry for that woman. I witnessed a similar incident in my line of work. As for the guy who tried to save her, he'll never get that sound and image out of his head. I can almost guarantee that the woman who caused the accident was only sited for failing to control her vehicle. I mean come on man, that's why we have emergency brakes.
She died the worst possible way, and she had so much more to look forward to in life, the lady who caused her death should have used the emergency brake every vehicle has, my heart goes out to Whitney's family, I know its been two years but still
idk whats more disturbing..the story or the disgusting way the news channel enjoyed reporting it and claiming they are the number 1 news station at the end of the story..
I seen a video of this before by a different uploader and they showed her pic of the girl who died, what a beautiful young lady!! Very sad situation may she RIP and my condolonces goes out to her family!!
she didnt even do anything wrong, minding her own business, woke up that morning just like every other morning. this is impossible, its not fair. it was hard for her, her friends, family, witnesses, and people who had to work at the scene. this was a horrible way to die for an 18 year old girl. RIP Whitney
driver who did it got away in an ambulance? would that ambulance be able to do anything for whitney? no.
I've always wondered why gas stations don't have 3' walls around them to prevent these accidents. Cement filled metal poles or telephone pole lumber spaced 2 - 3' apart should stop all but the most high speed or large vehicles but not prevent people from running to safety.
there is no such thing as sudden brake failed if it was working the morning you take your car out? but if there is! why would anyone take their damn car and crash it at a gas station? Theres plenty of places you can crash your car if it fails! What a Kamikaze Bitch!! R.I.P Whitney Hendrickson
@deemilieu Not so, there's actually crappier Japanese junk out there Id put my car over any day.. like Mitsubishi.. I mean, IT'S BS. Lol but yea most the American cars Ive owned were damned good.. so it the one Ive got now. My Cutlass is still running great too, and its 18 years old.. sooo, read up before you speak. God bless.
It sounds like the brakes failed. Terrible story. Tragic
Is there an annual safety test on cars in the USA? There is what is known as an annual Ministy of Transport test (MOT) in the UK for cars over 3 years old and it is a very throrough test these days. If your car has a fault you have to get it fixed to pass or you can't drive.
This is a terrible story. I feel sorry for the girl. Crappy way to go. But what gets me, is that the lady who was driving the red explorer who said she lost her brakes. ok, i understand that. BUT, if my brakes went out, I would do everything humanly possible NOT to hit a gas station....I'm just saying, maybe a tree.... a parked car.... a brick wall... pretty much anything would have been better than a gas station....
Under the circumstances, you did wonderfully. Having worked for WKOK on and off for 5 years, I can definitely say from experience that it isn't always easy or fun. This story grabbed me mainly because I've had nightmares very similar to those events, and needless to say they are not pleasant to experience or recall. I sincerely hope that the witnesses are able to come to terms with their experiences and that the family is doing better with time. Once again, very nice work under pressure.
I feel sorry for Greg, the pour bugger. No one should have to see and live with that, let alone endure the incalculable agony she suffered. No death could possibly be worse than this, and I haven't the slightest clue how the devil you managed to cover it with any semblance of composure. I vividly remember reading this news story on March 17, and it threw me for one hell of a loop I can tell you, even though I live over a thousand miles away and had nothing to do with it at all. Very nice work.
never think that something like this could happen pumping Gas. guess you gotta be aware of anything around you, that might happen. What a terrible way to die,or even see happen.

Maybe it was gods plan. I mean god has a plan for everything right ? :P
I guess his plan was to kill a 18 year old girl, by pinning her to a gas station then burn her alive. Thats basically feeling hell right there
