Gurren Lagann. Watch it. The first half of the series as a warn is a bit 'modern' in the sense that it doesn't have much of a plot, and is only really about the action. But the second half is amazing, and justifies the first of the season, as it gives it relevance and also makes sense of it perfectly. And is also as action packed.

But, from a critical standpoint the first half, storywise, isn't that outstanding. And while I did love it, a better storyline would have furthered my encouragment to watch the series during that first half.
