It's possible the machine was preprogrammed to show the stuff like "enter pin, choose amount" Their cards probably weren't even charged. Think about it, that what of made the situation more difficult for everybody afterwards. The machine isn't actual charging them.
the camera isn't even at an angle for viewing of the pin, that video of the screen is prerecorded most likely because of how clean the qualty is compared to other footage.
