This video is a great example of one of the things that annoys me about United - does the purser really have to talk for so long, about stuff that is blindingly obvious? It's very, very, very irritating and entirely unnecessary. Yap, yap, yap, yap, yap... SHUT THE HELL UP!
@petrhsr You got that right! There's several takeoff flights that I've viewed on YouTube and they gab for quite some time! I mean, why not talk after the plane has achieved cruise altitude
@ediandpen ge90 115 b if u have never heard that thing roar u aint lived. i live next to prestwick airport scotland and they sound amazingly evil when they take off but i like RR and PW better anyway saa
@ediandpen down here we have been having snow divertions and prestwick has had some 777's in , there are the occasional fuel stop ones to . we have had air france cargo 777's in doing runs for atlas air , also emirates and air newzeland divertions in too .but to awnser ur question the air france 777 300er's do and i think the emirates onehad them on too. the air newzeland had trents.
I think, GE90 doesn't have any clear-nice-heared spool-up sound... RR trents and PW4090 much more nice to hear than GE.. BUT.. GE90 LOOKS like much more impressive and massive by visual than RR and PW.. GE90 is the Biggest engine in the world nowdays and really looks the GREATE :)
Nice. Where were you headed?

The PW 777 engines are the less potent

Nah. The best sounding engines are the IAE V2500's used by Jetblue's A320's. Just my opinion.

Wow Korean Air B772 are powered by PW 4090s just like United Airlines B772s.

I like how the wings stretch at takeoff!

Does anyone know the normal takeoff climb for the 777? This one looked at least 20 degrees.
pettyofficer30 1 year ago
@pettyofficer30
It's the attitude, and this looks more like 15 degrees.

I get chills hearing these engines!

@petrhsr I have a friend who is a FA, she told me they talk at takeoff to relax people. But I agree with you! This is too much talking for no reason.

@petrhsr dude calm down your abviosly one of the people who freaks out when there on a plane

Recently took a couple of UA flights and there was a blissful lack of interminable chatter over the PA after takeoff - much better!

Well if its about a 7:30 hour flight on a 777. I would say that it was going to Munich Germany.

I think it is Hong Kong, because at 0:27, you can hear someone saying this is to Hong Kong from Chicago O' Hare. : D

The fligh attendant seven hours ahead of chicago so they are going east not west

The GE's have no real sound. RR sound the best by miles, then the P&W 4490-98?s and way way behind is the GE
ediandpen 2 years ago
This is a PW4090.
The PW4098 isn't longer in service.

@barkaswerker, what engines are united running on their 777's now then?
praetorian2150 1 year ago
@barkaswerker - Yup, def P&W engines. UA is a rusted-on P&W customer.
petrhsr 1 year ago
@petrhsr I am not sure if Korean Air is a rusted-on P&W customer just like UNited
