  • Thank you for the post! She is magnificient here!

  • The text is based on a section of the grace after meals.

  • Glorious. It's in both hebrew and Yiddish. GREAT SONG, great performance!

  • Beautiful ! My Grandmother was Carmella Rose Ponzillo ...first cousin to Rosa and Carmela (Ponzillo ) Ponsell .....they are the second cousins to my father Ted who is 92 years old ..............Toni Paniccia .....NYS

  • Beautifully sung!

  • This is a Columbia Record recorded January 8, 1921.

  • Wonderful recording!!! But - of course it´s sung in yiddish, not in hebraic. The beginning, the first lines... maybe, they are sung in hebraic, but than it goes on definitely with yiddish.

  • Glorious as was all that she sang! Brava! TY.

  • This is the Ponselle performance sung in Hebrew (not Yiddish) that I was referring to in an earlier comment.

  • meltzerboy-I remember it now.

  • Excellent voice¡¡

  • very naic

  • Marvellous, thank you.

  • This is totally new to me and is magnificent. Any idea when it was recorded?

    Thanks-John

  • Thank you. Beautiful performance of a Hebrew song, and I love the photos.

  • I believe Ponselle is singing in Hebrew here. A song not typical of her repertoire, but beautifully performed. Thanks for sharing.
