Ok, we have an opponent who doesn't strike back or try to defend himself. Why is this?
Why don't we put this guy up against someone from another martial art and see if it still works as well. I am thinking that a well placed punch in the nose might have an effect on him.
To all the people saying this is fake, please keep in mind that Chen ZQ's skill looks to be way above his opponent in this video. If you have any competition experience, you know intimidation can easily freeze up people and the competitor in Red looks like he's wishing he's never said yes to this.
@chiapet007 there's a difference between getting butterflys and just being totally compliant. If he was scared, he'd actually try and get away and run, not stand there and do nothing. get out of the fantasy
@iexcalibui2 There is a thing called UFC on TV, if everyone that was outmatched and froze up in that show ran out I doubt he'll have a career anymore. There are hundreds of reasons why he stayed up there and tried despite the odds. The reality is that this kind of one sided wins can happen in any fight of any level, anywhere.
@chiapet007 yeap he's stay in there and try, not like this dude in Red that does nothing. I think a grappling dummy puts up more resistance than that guy.
@KensaiZen im pretty sure u dont like kungfu if u dny it reality and if you are jap u should hate less on your fellow asian and hate more on those theat arent asian because if u support westerner over other asian then u are truly white-wash
@asian714cali don't be silly. What does putting 1 guy up against 1 guy who doesn't want to fight show? This is a staged fight to "show off" how stupidly powerful kung fu is... well which it isn't anymore. Real Kung Fu has been dissapearing for years. Only thing left is "show" Kung Fu. Sad times. To show real kung fu potential why not put 2 good fighters instead of 1 good and 1 not even a fighter. Its like beating on a child to prove your awesome... pathetic.
@KensaiZen lol obviously modern kungfu isnt as real or hardcore as it was in the ancient days..but it is still effective and it is not meant for "show" maybe a few or those few fake one but kungfu like shaolinquan is still effective fyi not all kungfu are for fighting like tai chi which promote health ,not all kungfu or for sport some made for street or combat like dim mak or soutern style prayin mantis and some made for sport and combat like shuai jiao or modern kungfu sanda..
@asian714cali Yes I know not all kung fu is for fighting but then that is the principle of Kung Fu. It can be anything you wan't it to be. It is more about adapting the philosophy into your own style. Dim Mak is a myth, shaolin praying mantis is good. Shuai jiao is ok... Sanda is just a modern creation to save Chinese face when fighting against Muay Thai.
The guy in red is FAKING it. They should rehearse better, his apathy is super fake and clumsily obvious. At first I was thrilled, cuz the first match looked convincing and neat.
Any of you who doubt Chenzi's skill should watch some of his other fights. I've fought this man many times and can say that even if we assume this fight was planned from the start, Chenzi would've won regardless.
Absolutely terrible. Anyone fooled by this rubbish knows nothing about MA. The guy in red is clearly allowing the 'Master' to win. This is in no way competitive and is the Chinese equivelent of professional wrestling. Maybe some matches are real but this one is definitely not. This sort of paper tiger nonsense does not help the cause of Chinese MA. Any martial artist with actual experience can see how fake this is....although It does impress the noob fanboys
Every season the rules change, before the current rules where its school/style vs school/style, it was just a random assortment of people competing, some times students would go up against masters, like you see here :P
Every season the rules change, before the current rules where its school/style vs school/style, it was just a random assortment of people competing, some times students would go up against masters, like you see here :P
What you say is true and Chen ZQ has very good technique and aggression but his opponent is like a prison bitch.... not even really trying, and if he has such an inferior level then they should not have even been matched up.
My MA background? started learning western boxing when I was 4 in 1980 (father was a boxer) til present, Judo from 1985 til 1990, Taekwondo from '85 til '95, started Kyokushin in '86 til present, Muay thai from '91 til present, Wing Chun from '95 til '07, Yi Quan, from '05 til present and have dabbled in other styles but these are the styles i have trained with consistancy, but after a while styles don't mean alot and you realise how they all overlap in someway. My ground game needs work. :)
@dldc68 Where I am coming from is that the one in red attempts a technique and then just passively allows his oponent to do whatever he likes. This much is obvious to anyone with actual fight experience. And as such it is not a real competitive altercation. In this match the outcome is predetermined just like WWF. Maybe they are good fighters but one could not know from watching this match as they do not fight.
This guy has real power and is a china national champion ! I have trained with him and his fajin is amazing ,all you guys slagging him off are typical armchair warriors, stick to what you know because you don't know Taiji !!
@dldc68 And all you taiji experts who can't see his opponent letting him are typical bullshido warriors, stick to what you know because you don't know anything about fighting.
@ShuyuKoukin you have no idea what your talking about.... if youd only saw the real training of this martial art then youd be scared the crop out.....
@volikoto Aiyaah!!! Your spelling needs more training!!! Respond to me when you complete your training kid. There's nothing to talk about when trolls can't even bring up a good premise. The premises are the basics..spelling is even more basic..if you can't even master something so simple.. how am I suppose to take you seriously KID?! ヽ(`Д´)ノ
Is this guy even trying? The one in the red seems to be holding back. I don't know if this is even a match. If you look at 00:46-00:50 in slow motion, it seems as if the red is letting the blue win.

@MAN80085 right. Chen ziqiang VS Wang zhanjun, both of them r taichi masters. that's called a match.
I think Wang will win.
i think the most excited match is Wang zhanjun VS Chen Xiaowang, but maybe nobody has the money to make this match come true.
