He one thing that some impersonators miss out on sometimes...the voice. It irratates me when impersonators sing young Elvis with the older Elvis voice and sing it with a more exadurated dark Elvis tone. Elvis didn't sing with that dark of a tone. Ronnie does a great job.

he does have a nice voice...but he sounds more like eddie cochran or brian setzer from the stray cats..he really doesnt have that guttural elvis sound but the guy has talent no doubt!,,,definitely worth listening to.

@yogihewitt I know Ronnie and have since before Elvis died. Ronnie just got plain tired of being called everything from an impersonator to someone riding Elvis' coat tails. Ronnie McDowell has one rarest voices ever recorded; 4 full octaves plus. Just listen to "Unchained Melody". He has had several hits in his own right that had nothing to do with Elvis in any way. But because he is so often asked to sing like Elvis he started to sing in his own voice.

@pro3tlb I know how it is for people to want you to sing Elvis all the time, I got so tired of it that I couldn't sing like him anymore. I am a big fan of Ronnie, I liston to THE KING IS GONE at least twice a month. I do a pretty good Conway,Elvis,George Jones and Johnny Cash. Ronnie has a voice I don't think anyone can copy. has been around a long time.he had a pop and country hit dedicated to elvis in 1977 right after elvis died called the king is gone had many top country hits using his own voice like older women and many more.he also did elvis in the kurt russell movie elvis as well as elvis and the beauty queen,the tv series elvis the early years,elvis and the colonel,elvis and me.he is a great human and singer and an award wining painter. does lots of tours doing his own music as well as tributes to elvis.

Ronnie Mcdowell is NOT an impersonator. Very distinct and excellent voice all his own. Just a lover of Elvis' style and music just like many of us. And one of few that has had his own hit records. This man puts on a great show even when his not doing Elvis' songs.

I think you have overlooked Jimmy Ellis (Orion) who had the most natural voice that was almost identical to Elvis without even trying

Jimmy was an older ELVIS sound while Ronnie was a younger ELVIS both without trying.
