i am a friend of the person who owns this comment box,... this song is not in Finnish.it is Hungarian. I'm full blooded Hungarian/and was born there.Hungarian is my first language.oh and the translation is way off.do your homework.
@Jalehall En ole ihan varma siitä pelaako sinulla kuulo tai ymmärry tai onko tämä joku huonomman puoleinen läppä, mutta minusta Tarja laulaa tässä täysin suomea. Ja kylla nuo lyriikat on melko oikein paitsi tuo kappaleen nimi, koska siinä ei ole sanaa "minä".
@Jalehall if you were hungarian you would know this is not hungarian she is singing in finnish the band comes from Finland, where im from, and she is definitely singing in finnish no question about it.
I love this song! I actually sang this as a solo at a concert for my choir once, nearly fainted from nervousness, I'm amazed I was able to sing this song fairly decently ^^'
she wanted to let u all know that this one set of lyrics meant... which death made me an artist which was translated wrong it really means in Hungarian Your whore mother.... i dont think u wanna say that to someone
just to let u all know this song is in Hungarian my friend who speaks n writes in Hungarian and was born there said that these lyrics u translated r quite incorrect... for example the 1st set u wrote is WRONG!!!!!! the correct 1st set of lyrics say: only once i got to see my dream is really... I want butter on it...
I like the dresses that Tarja wears... She is always in those medieval, fantasy looking dresses. She really reminds of Kahlan from Legend of the Seeker when she wears white :P
@theonewhoistheone1 There is a specific button for 'ä' in finnish keyboards. If you want to make 'ä' you will need to press this button--> ¨ <-- and then 'a'.
'ö' is the same but only press 'o' instead of 'a'.
I'm not sure if there is ¨ button on all keyboards (should be located right next to enter) but if you do, you probably will be able to do 'ä'
its a good language but if you take the effort to learn it you would find that it was useless even in finland the people i saw spoke english well.btw i dont know a word of finnish
Oh mijn god, dit nummer is echt zo ongelofelijk mooi! Ik krijg regelmatig tranen in mijn ogen als ik dit nummer luister, ik kan er echt geen genoeg van krijgen!
Dit is Nightwish zoals ze horen te zijn, met Tarja Turunen, en dit nummer bewijst dat Tarja gewoon een prachtzangeres is!
There was I think two mistakes on the translation. It is become, not come. I've never heard that "what my child takes me for", so I don't know if that's right, but I think it would be better as "what my child thinks I am". And in the end, it's death makes (or creates) an artist, not made. I hope I helped you :)) Pretty good work. Where are you from?
1:13 (the chorus) it could be: "My God, to you let me (be)come what my child thinks I am." but your translation is just as good. :)
3:14 it could start with the word "I", 'cause in english you can't tell from the verb who is the doer. So it's: "I created my own heaven here..." and so on.
And the name of the song in english is passive, we don't know who the doer is. So it's: "Death makes an artist". Even if later in the song we figure out that she IS singing about herself.
i have an almost craving to hear a harp version of this. if anyone here plays the harp, has time can be botherd and wnats to i would LOVE to hear
