costa rica might not have the best waves but it dosent have sharp corrals waiting 2 cut u and the surfing beaches arent as crouded like in most places so u can surf in peace, rob machado would love surfing here if he hasnt already, btw the only thing u need 2 worry about are the currents but theres always people looking out for u because los ticos son pura vida ;)

@SFCISME theres places to stay all over pavones but my favorite is above the organic food bar, its very nice and all good vibes. you can see the point from the balcony

@SFCISME you can stay in any hotel of costa rica. even where live, called Alajuela, (Its 1 of the 7 provinces of Costa Rica) you can get there in less than 4 hours...

This wave sections all over the place because; the town pocketed money to build a road instead they're using the rocks and destroying the wave. A waste of time since its far out of the way.

I surfed Costa Rica several times, about 20yrs ago. Then again, last year. It's rapidly losing it's magic. Too many agro Brazilians. The prick/hustler factor has risen dramatically. Fuck'n drug assholes, everywhere. The waves are still good, though. Fishing has fallen off, some. Thinking about other adventures in other places.

I just spent my whole summer surfing here, bunch of drugs going around. Found syringes on the beach and everyone's high lmao. Awesome surf and town. Can't wait to go back.

I was there last week in March with my surfer boyfriend. It was amazing best memory is running into Gilberto Brown and staying at the cabina behind the French man's restaurant. Awesome waves!

people say that when people died they go to heaven, that´s not true, they come to my paradise country COSTA RICA. Costa Rica is the only place where you can go to surf in the morning to the caribean coast, and in the afternoon to the pacific coast, is the only place where yo can go to surf in the morning and go to Cannopi mountain trip in the afternoon, everyone is welcome here, and we all the Costarricans speak inglish

I have been in pavones, in 24/05/08...another good swell there.....very nice place to stay, and for me the best wave i ever surfing.....the local are wonderful and all the things are pura vida....

livethelifetv when were you in Dominical? I stayed there for a few months last year, made the trip to Pavones. Was there for an epic swell, sick wave. Also made it to the Orsa peninsula via boat to Punta Marenco. Got to stay a local kids family's resort for free and no one else besides him and his brother surfer there. Really good point breaks and some sick beach breaks as well. Let me know when you were in Dominical tho? doubt we met but hey its a small world...
