  • Great video! I have a VX Equipe myself as a daily driver. 40,000 original ks, still has original tyres. Have had a couple of issues though, but this is probably through lack of use (i.e. air-con deals drying out)

  • sorry make that in the vy ,vz,ve series ok!!!1

  • gen 3 not four get it right gen 4 came in ve series!

  • ...wow, now i understand why they fall apart just as fast as they are put together.....

  • @DRPadmologist hahaha

  • @DRPadmologist Couldnt have said it better myself - 5 stars for that comment :-))

  • ha, I can strip one of these in about an hour, they are such a simple car to work on. It is a VX to all those poeple who are debating it..

  • that wasnt 2 minutes?, that was like 20 minutes and normal speed?

  • As bad as the build quality is, you know what you were signing up for when you bought it.. Reliabilty and build quality is not something you buy a Holden for.. But, for a massive smile on your face and that v8 burble up your spine? Now that's what Holden is for.. Had a v8 vl.. It was held together by glue, but it could fry those rears like it was in ice.

  • other than actually moving the car on the assembly line, it looks like its mostly hand made.

  • this video must be pretty old thats a VT-VX body style

  • all hand made.. will fall apart soon

  • not really, when a car is hand built they generally mean the bodywork... which is not shown in this clip... this is really just adding the trims and running gear.

  • well done..

  • They fall apart in 2 minutes as well. haha

  • lol

    :P

  • I drove a VN - the 3.8V6 hooked up to 5-speed manual was good, esp for long distances and economy, unfortunately the build quality was another story!

  • my dads had a vl and never skiped a beat and never bought a new spare part

  • Well it is powered by Nissan.

  • ahha besides the break light ours always goes in a couple of months always see vls with break lights out lol ahah yh good car though

  • if only it did take 2 minuts 2 put a car 2gether

  • I reckon Holden built my crewman ss in 2 minutes lol

  • hand made to perfection :P

  • hey i thought machines do all the work, do people actually assemble the car? i always thought they had machines to do all that

  • yes bogans assemble these

  • @Memphis35 hahahahaha

  • @imfasturfurious The welding robots make the bodies, and no doubt machines turn out a lot of the plastic bits, but humans assemble them

  • hahahahahahha hahah

    holla at yo koala rZ

  • Thats a very kwel video - I own one too.

  • the madest vidoe :P

  • holden is owned by GM.

And GM standardizes their manufacturing process globally.

Which means nearly all their cars (i.e. commodore's) have most parts built and put together from separate location around the world (e.g. the engine).

Which means ... "commodore" = not technically australian.

  • So what about the V6 that is built here?.

You can buy parts all around the world, All of them 100% of what you need, Then assemble them in one place, They place it is assemble becomes the country that built it.

This isn't the VE still even though parts makers here are dropping like flys The VE still uses plenty of Australian suppliers, But it's there total use of them that is biggest, They don't buy just for Home cars, They buy for around the world, And this keeps some suppliers in business.

  • i class the holden as australian because it is desinged here so i class the falcon as australian for the same reason i dont think there are many car componys that are owned outright most of brttians cars are owned by american and german componys same with mazda a large part is ford but it is still japaness

  • it's all marketing ... just as long as you think it's "australian" and keep buying, that's fine for GM, they will keep selling ... especially as they get closer and closer to bankruptcy. =)

  • Australia is the only country where the Commodore is built up, regardless of where in the world it is sold...

  • VT? wtf, this is a VX. I should know I own one. Youngozzy, I agree with you on the Japanese cars.

  • Its a VX SS

australian cars shit on Japanese, if your an australian who supports or drives jap crap then get the fuck out. im sick of dudes spamming talk about how good there sushi is, i dont care if you may beat us in drags or your car has a blow off valve that sounds like a kettle steaming, nothing beats the roar of a v8, i will still laugh at u when you drive by in your ricey's.

    AUSSIE PRIDE

  • i agree mate! AUSSIE cars all the way! i own a VR and love it to death! :D

  • Ha Ha - i own a rough and ready VR clubby and i love that to death as well. I drive it like that nut case outa Mad Max.....

  • @YoungOzzyBlood fucking red neck racist. Being Australian means we have the freedom of choice. If we want to drive a Japanese car then so be it. If we want to drive a Japanese brand of car made in Australia like me, then so be it. If you want to drive a Holden and act all high and mighty then so be it. Holden have generally poor build quality so many people are not interested. You are what is wrong with this country.

  • @Memphis35 people are entitled to their opinions, you are basically saying that when you talk about what car you want to drive then you contradict yourself by sayin he is not entitled to his opinion?? whether his opinion is politically correct or not it is still his opinion. and i believe it is people like YOU that is whats wrong with this country. blabbering on about fairness but when it coms to you beliefs nobody elses matters.. how is that fair mate?

  • @YoungOzzyBlood both countries cars are good, dont be so narrowminded, btw its a vt, have a look at the headlights

  • @MrGrog88 its actually a vx not a vt. the vx headlights are slightly different. they have a round bit at the bottom on the ends. vts dont.

  • @rayzeverlast exactly, i dont see the vx headlights here i see vt ones

  • @MrGrog88 look closer numbnuts, see that tear drop on the inner bottom corners of the headlights? lay off the grog mate and maybe you will be able to see strait

  • @MrGrog88 The lack of the full length tail lights tells is it's a VX (only berlina and calais VX's had full length tail lights)

  • I think that they forget something though. Um, just trying to figure out what is was. Oh, I remember now, quality! They forgot the quality!

  • HAND BUILT

  • is that the same commodore that's in, i think it's called birdwood motor museum or something

  • @snyper6996 yep

  • and that exact commodore is sittin in the national motor museum in the town ehre i live :P

  • what town is that?

  • VX SS

  • That is a VX SS not a VT or any other model of Commodore. Good video , good work mate.

  • thats no vx its a vt look at headlights tail lights and GRILL its a vt derrr!!!!

  • if anyone thinks its a VT ur retarded, i accually work for Holden lol.

  • gen4s being beaten by baseline ford v8s, your joking, i went for a test drive in a vt ss s2 gen3 with cat back exhaust and my first thought in economy was id flog a typhoon, i also gotta alloytec and it runs great

  • By the way you dude thats not a VT SS , its a VX SS either VX series 1 or series II, dude!!!,look at the head lights, the real lights, the body kit,the rearspoiler???dude??????its a VX not a VT!!!

  • No wonder why i see new VEs being sold around Melbourne, cars that are not even 10 months old have problems, specially on the aloytec V6 eating oil all the time and overheating, not to mention the GEN4 which somehow gets beaten by a baseline BARRA220 5.4Litre SOHC, not to mention BOSS290;)

  • ahahahahhaha mate u must be in la-la land or something. What sort of crap did u just write there? ive got an Alloytec and a Gen4 aswell, and none of them have had any of those problems even though i give the gen4 a good thumping.

    Get ur facts right please.

  • Yeah mate, I don't know what your raving on about, I've never had a problem with any V6 or V8 commodore I've owned in the past. I've driven a few alloytecs now as company cars and all have been great!

  • what i meant was what type of commodore is this what model can some one please tell me

  • look if any one else seas this vid can you please tell me what type of holden commodore is like what model please please please

  • Holden Commodore SS (VT)

  • thank you

  • VX.

  • @vzcalaiskid VT

  • @MrGrog88 Ok, this is'nt just for MrGrog here but for everyone. The car is a VX SS Commodore. Call the museum, Holden HQ, i will not stand corrected.

    ...

  • @MrGrog88 your a fuck head mate.. the headlights are teardrops - the tail lights dont spread across the boot - the front body kit - the boot spoiler - the side skirts - everything screams RED VX SS Gen4 V8... i think Series 2 even.. can u be told?

  • @jharl13 alright VX, i was completely wrong

  • @jharl13 gen 3 bud
