  • @007newnew I completely agree with you! Sometimes I feel like each a, b, and c should have their own a,b, and c if you know what I mean. You look to me like loose 4b that borderlines 4a. Or atleast a tight 4a that's closer to 4b than 3c. Lol anyways when you've looked at them let me know what you decide.

  • @007newnew ............Freeworship, Naptural85, and Kimmaytube all have 4a hair. Jerseystylezz, thelmarrie, and growblackhairnet all have 4b hair. You will be able to see the slight difference in all of the hairs in even the same category! You decide which your hair looks the most like and let me know :)

  • @gggrinz Okay, I view most of their videos, so when I get a chance, I'll compare. The hair typing system is antiquated indeed LOL! In my rational sense, and from viewing so many heads of hair, I don't believe that 3 little subcategories (a,b,c) can encompass our coil/curl shapes---but I can't complain b/c I didn't even define one category. Thanks for the info.

  • @007newnew Andre Walker's hair typing system is like the very first telephone; now a days we have advanced to cellphones. Similarly, Walker didn't include types 3c and 4c in his original system, but we know that these types exist. Basically I'm saying that you shouldn't look to him for categorizing your hair. Instead of telling you what your hair type is, I'm going to give you examples of youtubers for you to check out.............

  • I now do my wash and go's every 2-3 days this has practically eliminated my knots. :) I'm a happy camper.

  • @007newnew The z pattern of which you speak is 4c hair, which does not have a curl pattern.

  • @007newnew Hi hun. Thanks for your comment. Not all hair typing definitions given is correct. 4b hair does not have a z pattern it is an extremely tight spiral curl. I have 4b hair mixed with some 4a so I know that some 4b hair can look like 4a if properly conditioned.

  • @gggrinz Then you're right. Not all hair typing definitions given is correct. It's real interesting that I can't locate the Andre Walker hair typing classification on his own website. I was reading this info from Naturallycurly Maybe you can help me figure out my hair type. What are the other characteristics of 4b hair? At this point, it sounds the same as 4a hair.

  • IS YOUR HAIR TYPE 4B?

  • @jpr094 Her hair is 4a.

  • @427skies It looks more like 4B.

  • @gggrinz Definition of 4a: Type 4 is kinky, or very tightly curled, with a clearly visible curl pattern, Circumference: Crochet needle or even smaller, Type 4 hair is known to shrink up to 75% of the actual hair length, 4a: Tightly coiled hair that, when stretched, has an "S" pattern, much like curly hair. It tends to have more moisture than 4b; has a definite curl pattern. By this definition, her hair is 4a.

  • @427skies Hahaha, you can't use a definition like that to determine her hair type! Her hair is very similar to mine, which is a 4b 4a mix but mostly 4b. Look at her hair compared to a fully 4a like Kimmaytube's hair! See a difference?

  • @gggrinz Go look up on Naturallycurly(dot)com and the same definition is there. I'm done with this conversation, because you chose to be ignorant about the information that is right there. And all 4a hair doesn't look the same. It can be silky, cottony, spongy, wiry and thready just like other hair. Have a wonderful day.

  • @427skies I'm not going to look up anything on any website when you refuse to look up another youtuber. You're the one who's ignorant and I agree, this convo is going nowhere. In a way I can understand why you would think her hair is 4a, but it's not. Good day.

  • @gggrinz I've seen Kimmaytube, for your information. Again, you decide not to do the research and educate yourself, that is on you. Her hair is 4a. Plain and simple. And a lot of people would agree with me. And Kimmaytube's hair is 4a too. You seem to thing that 4a can only look like 1 thing. You must be a new naturalhead. Hm...good luck with that.

  • @427skies And similarly you seem to think that 4b hair all looks the same! Irony at it's friggen best.

  • @jpr094 It looks like 4B to me.

  • @gggrinz Hey Hun! I don't too much like the hair typing system (for many reasons), but it does have it's uses. By Mr. Walker's actual definition, 4a is coily and when stretched makes an "S". 4b has a "Z" pattern. I don't have any "Z" patterns in my hair as yet. It's actually full of "S" and pen tip coils. Funny you brought up kimmaytube b/c I watched her earlier videos and her hair texture looked alot like mine! Her coils are very stretched now due to the length and weight. HTH

  • @jpr094 I'd say 4a. It's very coily with an "S" pattern. No "Z". Today was the first time I actually took time to look at the typing system Hahahaha! Thanks Guysssss

  • Do you know T's hair type?

  • You just made my day! WNG NEVER work on my hair but I have also never tried the conditioner only method. I can see how it would really help to clump the hair. My hair is super fine so I am hoping the conditioner helps to lay down the curls and prevent puff and frizz. Thanks and beautiful videos as usual!

  • Great video. Great advice. New subbie! ;o)

  • @Crisszilla Thanks for the sub Love ;o)

  • Your accent!! :-D Where are you from?

  • @PackofDiscos LOL Jamerican

  • I changed from that to African Pride Olive Oil line *oil only b/c their other products aren't that great*

  • Your WNG vids are so inspiring! I can't wait until summer so I can give wash n go's another shot!!

  • @MsChanteJ72 Thanks Bunny ;o) Definitely something to look forward to (quick, easy, beautiful textured styling).

  • Thank You! I think this is my missing link. Every point you made in this video makes sense. Can't wait to try this, this weekend.

  • @brownsheep32 Thanks for the message Love! If you get a chance, let me know how it went ;o)

  • OMG that african oil is not my favorite either. i just finished it up.....never again will i buy

  • @Jolley185 The whole product line is not the best (to put it nicely). You see they're all at the dollar store too. I have not found good hair products at the dollar store yet!

  • Nice!

  • @tjkeatonel Thanx Hun

  • I hate that africa's best stuff, before it was good but they changed the formula and it STINKS. You shouldnt use it because it has hydroquinone, it causes cancer and they use it in bleaching creams. Nice hair lol ;]

  • @TreyLucaz Yeah, it seems they may have played on the consumer's trust, and now the ingredients are not what they claim. Thanks for the message Love!

  • Your hair looks magnificent! I'm having trouble on my path to find my desired wash and go method. I just cant seem to find products that actually make my curls "POP". I think you might have turned on a light for what might be missing in my application process. I intend to keep on trying until I get it just right. I may need MORE product when applying. I just worry about the drying process. How long does your wash and go take to dry??

  • @Harrisonized Hey Love! It takes a bit of experimentation with the Wash N go's. What helps a lot is to watch what your hair likes, assess your hair without any product at all (that's a great start to finding out what you may need). Know what look you're going for (laid down, puffy, texture mix, etc). Play around with it...it's fun. If you don't like what happened then wash it out and start over later LOL! My wash n go (conditioner) takes about 24 hours to dry ): Try a diffuser

  • sorry , i know this off your topic, how do you feel about interracial dating?

  • Tried this method today and loved it. I was just watching another youtuber tonight who suggested the same thing on dry hair. I sprayed my hair a little with aloevera juice mix mainly on my ends. I added a shea butter mix after underneeth. Then added the Tressemme curl hydration. Love this process, I was also able to sit under the dryer on low heat and it still came out great. Best results I ever had with conditioner. Thanks and God Bless.

  • @bpwarren128 Hey Love! Yayyy it worked for you ;o) You can't go wrong adding aloe vera anything and shea butter anything to the hair LOL! Thanks for the feedback. Stay sweet

  • Nice video and beautiful hair! I'm definitely gonna try your method cause I literally began to despise my wash'n go's. 1) because the front likes to hang more than the back because the front is a looser texture and 2) I just can't get into feeling all that gel gunked up in my hair. But I'm definitely gonna try using more conditioner instead! Thanks!

  • @moonsmoothie9 Yeah, I know the feeling about the gel gunked up in the hair. I think that's why I use it "sometimes"...I gotta be in the mood for all of that up in my head LOL. Try using the denman or tangle teaser on the front looser section, as they have a way of bringing out the spring in every coil! T scrunches up her looser sections. Thanks for the message Love!

  • Very nice. Thanks for sharing. ND

  • @ndinthecity Thanks Doll ;o)

  • Love the video!

  • @justsweetlikecandy Thanks Sweets!

  • Nice curl pattern!

  • @77deerose Thanks Love ;o)

  • I learn so much from your videos! Keep it up!

  • @mnwankpah Thanks for the encouragement mnwankpah!

  • I really enjoy your videos! God bless you!

  • @keena771 Thank you for this message Love ;o)

  • @007newnew Thank you for replying!

  • Hello! Do you ever use henna? What do you think of it?

  • @Oceanlinx Hi Oceanlinx! I use Cassia Obovata (which is the neutral henna), and I LOVE it. Great Deep conditioning treatment.

  • You are very fortunate to have a uniform curl pattern all over your head. I should be so lucky . . . but I'm not! LOL. Did you need to break "the cast"? My daughter also uses a rinse out conditioner as a leave-in! I have not yet found one that will work for me but you are so right about it needing to be THICK (viscose).

  • @JazzWife Hahaha I know! I just went and defied all reasoning. But I really have yet to find different curl patterns (not like I'm sad about it LOL). T hasn't tried the conditioner leave in yet. She loves her eco styler gel. I keep telling her to try it. She will one day.

  • Is that conditioner that you normally rinse out? I wasn't aware that it could be left in. I always thought it would have some negative effect from leaving it in. I'm currently using tresemme touchable softness for dry/brittle hair.

Can I find natural shea butter at a health store like vitamin shoppe? I'm looking for some new products to do deep conditioning, leave in conditioner and/or a moisturizer, and a good heat protectant that doesn't make the hair feel sticky.

  • @MzLimeLight Yeah, you're right. I don't like leaving these things on my scalp like this. I had a problem. I'm still looking at Ross, Marshalls, Tj Max for my BIG Bottles of Giovanni 50/50 Moisture Conditioner. I'm getting panicky b/c I can't find it. That's why I had to settle with this Tresemme (and not even the natural one!!!). I have to order my shea butter on ebay. I still need a good deep conditioner myself. Let me know if you find one. Use the grapeseed oil as heat protect.

  • I love your video. I have the same curl pattern that you have and I like the souffle while others seem to hate the product. I also use the Tresemme Naturals. Have you used the Donna Marie product yet?

  • @desireehair Thanks Love! No haven't used Donna Marie Product yet. Is it all natural?

  • The shea moisture curl enhancing smoothis has great reviews and it works great to define curls. Thx 4 review :)

  • @anmllvr234 Thanks Love ;o)

  • Pretty natural hair and curls!

  • @anmllvr234 Thank you Doll ;o)

  • Great video! Cute curls. a lot of great tips. :) My hair really loves conditioner too.

  • @millana31 Thanks Love ;o)

  • You are so thorough that's why I love your videos. Thanks for thinking about US.

  • @nstiNctiVnatur 'preciate you nstiNctiVnatur <3

  • Thanks for this tutorial it was very informative! Loved it!!

  • @shareckia Thanks for the love shareckia!

  • Love it! What is shingling?

  • @papillonww Thanks papillonww! Shingling is a method of applying the product to smaller sized sections, going from root to ends with the product throughout the strands. Using your fingers to define each coil during the process. It takes a bit of time as opposed to just squashing the product through like I did.

  • You always give such great advice to styling and caring for hair. That's why I love watching you. You really pay attention to your hair and you know what works through trial and error. I found that many of my successful curly girl wash and go's have been similar to yours. I sometimes stray away from what works to try something new, but when you make your videos like this one here, I remember using that same technique and it worked!

  • @ElleNuMi Thanks For watching us Hun! I appreciate you.

  • Are you from the west indies

  • @everythingist007 I heard it when I re-watched this video. I don't know why I was speaking with my little Jamerican accent. My mom hasn't been here in over a week! Hahahah. My parents are from Jamaica

  • @007newnew lol it happens to me too my fiance will notice it, and say that I sound like a little island girl, but my family will not forget to remind me that I'm a yankee hahahaha

  • im so gonna try this you make me wanna redue my hair 13 moths post relaxer fully natural yah'll i just did a rod set

  • @thefushigiz Girrl you better hold onto that rod set! Hahaha I haven't figured out how to do a rod set, so you got it going on!!! Congratulations on your Healthy Hair Journey!!!! Thanks for the message Love ;o)

  • I loved this video! I am on the curly girl method for a little over a month now and I love the results of the conditioner for styling! As my hair gets hydrated I find that I do not need a gel any more to avoid frizz however, I am going to try coiling the crown of my hair which seems to only have definition on the ends and not the roots to see if this will work for me. You have a new subbie! Thanks for the informative video

  • @islandgurl3601 Don't you love it!!! I've got a big tub of the eco styler, b/c I know when I want to use it, but for the most part, I love to do the conditioner styling. It really keeps the hair behaved when you go to do other styles like braidouts and stuff. Yeah, try coiling up that section and blending it in with your wng. Hope it works ;o) Thanks for the sub Love! TTYL --tia

  • Guuuureat vid! I want to try the cond w-n-g (in the next month or so LOL) I agree it prob would be more beneficial to the hair to use conditioner and its good to switch it up now and then. Love your results!

  • @missthis897 I can not wait to see your wng's It's going to be sweeet!! It takes a minute to get situated with products/techniques, a few practice runs. You see I'm still "tweaking" mine. But yeah, the benefits for using the conditioner to style the wng vs eco styler gel is that when you go to wash out the conditioner, you are already working with soft, manageable hair (you get great braidouts). I still buy my Tub of eco, though LOL!! Thanks for the message Love ;o)

  • do you find that when you use so much conditioner it flakes or is visible after it dries (the conditioner - Tresemme Naturals). How do you prevent this?

  • @mebrown96 No flakes surprisingly! Once it dries, it's fine. There's white stuff while it's wet only.

  • its look nice

  • @25whatif Thanks Hunny!

  • Why did you not like the African's Best oil? what is wrong with it?

  • @NaturallyObsessed014 The ingredients on the packaging and the actual ingredients do not match up. When I read it, I thought it was magic, but doing the research on the skin deep database, it has fragrance (not listed as an ingredient) that is highly toxic. Also may have parabens. I'm not happy they didn't list all of the ingredients. I'm highly allergic to many things so it's important to me.

  • ur results are amazing... I will have to try the souffle... not to many people like it but I haven't seen people use it for w-n-gs just twists... I think I will give it a try bc I don't want to use eco styler all the time (not the best ingredients)

  • @swtcarmel1 Thanks Love! Yup, I was going to ditch that Curling Souffle, b/c it doesn't work for me in the way that it says it will. But reading the ingredients, I thought it would be real good to lay on top of my conditioner for the wng. LOVE IT!

  • I am glad you said that about detangling bc I don't detangle before my w-n-gs either... i think fingers are the best for w-n-gs

  • @swtcarmel1 Definitely. Once you put a denman or tangle teaser through the coils, they will retract up on itself real hard. Fingers seem to have been purposefully made for our hair!

  • Beautiful! Do you find that your hair is crunchy when you style it this way?

  • @lanicert It has a little crunch to it yeah. But I think I need the little crunch to keep my coils defined. Thanks for the message Love ;o)

  • Hey Tia, you have really mastered the art of doing wash and go's. I must try your technique one of these days. I've never done a wash and go just because it's always so cold over here and my hair doesn't really hang (it grows in volume :) ). But I just might try it during the warmer months :).

  • @flozangel Oh yeah, you've got that weather over there (not wng weather LOL). First the hair grows up and out, then it usually slumps down. I think yours will definitely slump after a minute, judging from what I saw in your gorgeous pics. Keep Warm!

  • Nice vid...very informative. Beautiful hair!!!

  • @Tiffronee Thanks Love ;o)

  • How did you manage to find that Blue hat to fit over all that hair?

  • @JamCanGurl Girrrl, I found 2 of those big crochet pageboy hats at Bealls!! I picked them up for when I do my two strand twists b/c they hang low in the back. And one of them actually came with a scarf LOL

  • We must have the same hair, because my hair doesn't require shingling either when I do my wash n gos. I actually to a slightly modified version of T's method.

  • @427skies It's so much easier when I figured out what my hair will do and what will cause it to do something. Yeah, T just kind of slaps some gel on there LOL. Seems you've got your wng figured out. It really cuts down on the drama to get the mystery figured out LOL I'm still working on a few mysteries (twist outs, bantu knots Hahah). Thanks for the message Love ;o)

  • Loved it when I could wear my Wash N go. I just can't do WNG's anymore. I get way to many Hair End Knots. My 4c/4b hair love's to snap back upon it's self and make SSHK's. I really do find that I have to protect my hair from itself. All the styles you've done on you and your girls hair are always so pretty; and have been a great inspiration to me. Thanks Love for sharing your experience and tips. As always you are greatly appreciated{:-).

  • @LuvitHeart Yeah, I battle with Single strand knots too. As well as my youngest daughter. It seems the tighter the coil, the more prone to them b/c T's hair doesn't do all of that knotting and she wears it curly most of the time. I just find that I can head it off (the knotting) if I pull out the shed hair while my hair is stretched and DRY. Once I wet it---Single strand knot CITY! LOL. I used to get them a lot, but I've been working on figuring it out. Thanks 4 the msg Love.
