No. The 21" uses a different mount inside and there is no latch to engage to extend the mount out further for access to a bracket as in the larger models.
FYI, in the event anyone else struggles with unlatching the stand on a 24" iMac (Aluminum), I couldn't get the white plastic card to insert well enough--it was too tight. No joy.
The resolution for me was to lay the computer down (rather than stick to the instruction to unlatch it while standing). This removed the tension on the stand and allowed me to insert the card, unlatch the lock, and remove the stand. After two hours of struggling upright, it took 30 seconds laying flat. :-)
Could you please tell me if this mount would work? (Just type this on amazon.com it will be the first result) "Cheetah Mounts ALAMLB LCD TV Wall Mount Bracket with Full Motion Swing Out Tilt and Swivel Articulating Arm"
I've been looking for a wall mount for my 27" since my desk is only 15 inches deep :-/ I hope you wouldn't mind sharing what brand and model you used here and how it has worked out for you.
@elua16 I wouldn't see why not, their were a number of tweaks on the inside of the machine, but I don't believe there were any changes with the actual case design.
Excellent video! This is exactly what I was looking for. I thought it might be difficult to mount my 27" iMac, but I see that it's not that hard at all. The quality of your video is stunning. What kind of video camera do you use?

@melsentube It is a little tight, but the chords do fit back there, But there is room for them to fit. It's not that easy plugging everything in place because of the tough viewing angle of the ports. I leave my USB cables plugged into the imac, and generally disconnect the hardware at the device end instead.
Cool vid mate but having the iMac that far back on the wall seems not very ergonomic or good for you eyes unless you are just watching movies on it or using binoculars!
The glass desk is only 18" deep, my chair is right in front of that, so I'm only about 2' away from the screen and the extra real estate on my desk allows for more room for other things. Ergonomically speaking, the screen is on the same plain as it was on the stand, so I'm not looking any further up or down. I have spent many hours in front of the machine and now ailments so far. Coming from some one with pre-existing back issues, that is saying something :) Thnx & rgrds
The bottom of the screen's viewing area is a few inches off the bottom of the machine. My viewing angle is ideal for my seating position. I have pre-existing back issues, so I can tell you with confidence that this setup is ergonomically sound. Thanks for watching.
Hi watching your video back and forth. Can you tell us what is the possible reason for our left and right screws to not be able to screw into the flang. We've tried tightening the middle top screw to varying degrees but its not making a difference.
@BlackBros2010 Your best bet is to use a flash light and to take a good look inside of the barrel where you are placing the screw, it's the only real way of being able to tell if you are lined up properly wit the flange. If the flange is perfectly aligned with the mount, you shouldn't have an issue. Let me know how it goes!
Thanks for the demonstration. Can you share the actual measurement from the bottom edge of the 27" iMac to the center of the vesa mount plate? I'm trying to determine if I have room in my armoire if I switch the original stand for another one.
@drplbiftin if you watch carefully the wall, you will see that I already marked the holes that time I used a proper level. The iphone was for purposes of showing users on the video that the bracket was mounted level. It's hard to demonstrate that on camera using an actual level (as the bubble would have been difficult to view).
Well done!

The idiots at the Apple Store told me it's impossible to wall mount a iMac.

Hi, it looks great, but how about the connectors on the back, are you able to attach usb, power and ethernet with this short distance to the wall?
