USNavyITWife -- you are correct. I am trying to watch it right now. Mom is a packrat, and has everything from when I was young...haha. I looked up the old VHS's to find movies for my kids to watch that I enjoyed..and I found it. Unfortunately, its terrible quality. And they will never be able to watch it..at least this copy!

in cameron missouri we did a musical version and the shows writer bernie kukoff came to cameron and watched us perform and he really liked it so there might be the possibility of them wanting to try and turn it into a broadway thing

This can be considered Fox's first attempt at a musical comedy-drama ala Glee. Alas, it didn't do quite as well. The 80's weren't so kind to musical tv shows back then.

@undeadnightorc I thought I saw this on the NBC network, not FOX in 1987-88 it was on saturday nights at 7pm but like all shows that had that time slot it was difficult to had seen all the episodes because they were usually pre-empted by local programming or sports or paid programs. I remember this but not saw enough episodes to remember specifics. It was this and 21 jumpstreet on sundays at the same time were my fave shows at 9-10 yrs old

@undeadnightorc That's because the original "Fame" series broke the mold. It's a hard show to top but didn't stop them from trying. Anyone remember the failed "Dirty Dancing" series? I swear there was a musical police show too, but that one didn't last either. The 80's was the last hoorah for musicals, they're now making a come-back:-)

Didn't this come out after "Little Shop of Horrors?" Which was a fifties style movie. I think that's why they cast Tisha in it because she was one of the "backup" singers in "Little Shop of Horrors." I had forgotten about this show until I clicked on this. It's a shame what you forget when you are in your 30's. I always used to watch this.

I thought I remembered Tisha Campbell playing in Rags to Riches! I loved this show (and the 80's). This is good TV that you don't mind your children watching. Wholesome quality TV. Those were the days...Saved by the Bell, Rags to Riches, and another show about a girl with her dad in a "triangle"....Does anyone remember that show? Her name was "Eedie". "Have you ever carried moonbeams home in a jar....."

@yonwicked1: Only available on DVD in Germany (seasons 1 & 2, with English audio tracks). Go to amazon.de and buy it if you want to, but be warned, you'll need a multi-region player, or the codes to unlock the region in question. Or, just play it on your computer's DVD drive (if it has one.)

Yeah, same thing happened with "Brand New Life". Both shows were so good, I can't believe they were cancelled so soon, especially considering that was a time when family friendly shows were very popular.

There are two things I remember about this show, which I watched all the time when it was on (1987 I think?). It involved sheep's milk or goat cheese in the cafeteria. Second, some girl said something about "sukiyaki", and the other one said, "sukiyaki meaning 'slob'!" and a group of girls doused the snob (maybe her girlfriend too) with something. Tell me I'm not imagining this-LOL! It had to have been from this show!
