  • nice gun.

aren't these considered a restricted firearm? or are they considered non-restricted due to the flintlock? since I would be interested in getting one, but I don't want to have to deal with the restricted firearm restrictions and bullshit.

  • It fired smoke more than anything...

  • MrToinou2706, only the ones on the losing side...

  • musket ball as ammo like it terraria:) (or silver bullet?!?)

  • How do u clean that gun

  • Why wear goggles and ear muffs?. The millitary personel of the 18th and 19th century didn't need too....

  • @MrDeano324 yeah well they died

  • Tarkul

  • Hey globalhawk777, dont load the pistol when you have powder in the pan. It is the last thing you do as you make the pistol ready to fire.... Thats really dangerous and I dont want to see you get hurt. also shooting over your powder supplies is not recommended either.

Dont be afraid to clean the bore every 3 or 4 shots so you dont snap that ramrod in half.

Im no expert and i have not seen the pistol up close but i can see it does hang fire big time. you might want to try real black powder.

  • JEZUZ H KRIST!!

#1 - your stock is cracked

#2 - you're shooting over your powder supplies

#3 - you're using pyrodex or some other synthetic propellent in a flintlock

    #4 - you're over priming

#5 - you're priming the pan first (at least once) and then ramming the ball home

#6 - you have a camera person IN FRONT of the barrel!!!!!!!!!

    #7 - you're RAMMING a ball down with a wooden ram rod

Please remove this video. You're embarrassing yourself. Is your name Daryl? Or Earl?

  • Would you do the world a favor and pull this video which is full of safety violations?

Why is it a bad idea using the rammer with a primed and cocked pistol?

Why is it a bad idea using Pyrodex in a flintlock and wondering why getting a hangfire every time? Overprime constantly?

Ever lubed a patch that it actually slides down the barrel and you don't have to hammer on the end of a wooden ramrod and probably wonder why it may break later and glide right through your hand? Cracked pistol stock?

  • About the priming, I know people will tell you not to do this but it's what I did (I have a video on my channel shooting my flintlock, you can see how instant it fires) but I grinded some 3F down into priming powder. I used a plastic bowl and the plastic handle of a screwdriver to grind it into a relative dust, bit by bit, until I had a small container of it. It ignites every time!

  • @Omega52 Doing it with materials that don't make sparks is safe and in small amounts is safer! If by some freak chance it went off, you'd lose some hair on your knuckles, worst case scenario.

  • The camera person standing in front of the muzzle is a SAFETY violation! Both shooter and camera person should be reprimanded and that flintlock should be taken away from that guy who seems to love hang-fires and way too much pan powder and fake powder as the main charge.

  • @zoarmonkey settle down guys....remotely controlled camera, right !

  • @globalhawk777 --Oh yea right. Just like the Navy captain of that cruise liner tripped and fell into the life boat, too...... hahahahahaaaaa

  • First off, ditch the pyrodex. It's no good in flintlocks. Next you have WAY too much priming powder in the pan. And finally, for Christ's sake exercise some COMMON SENSE range safety!

  • @newphillysports hmm not understanding....

  • @globalhawk777 definitely too much primer in pan but by gees, it just wouldn't ignite!

  • thumb up if you came here typing captain jack sparrow pistol XD

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, it does seem slow.

  • That's one sloooow ignition! Needs some tuning....Check out my flintlock video by clicking on my name below

  • @tetontodd1 thx

  • I'm just waiting for a stray spark to ignite his spare powder bottles on the ground, if he'd have attended a proper muzzle loading course , he would use a thicker loading rod , a portable table , and a lot more muzzle loading sense.

  • @Wad12br I guess I got away with with it this time!

  • How does Gangplank use this as an ulti?

  • What range is this? Looks nice, but I don't recognise it. I myself shoot in Ontario and am looking at other ranges :P

  • why not chance at a target, five paces each man was the correct distance for a duel (so 10 from your standing target. (dont use a real man). Walk ten, turn, aim, fire.

    Interesting vid.

    Thanks for posting.

  • @thecomanche1 thanks, enjoyed making it

  • I can't decid if the pistol is legit, geeky, r just pointless.

  • Did you drill the touch hole yourself or had it done by a gunsmith?

  • @vesperweksss gunsmith

  • relaxing video

  • Very nice gun, I'd love to own one, but damn it must've been hard to reload under the stress of the battlefield! and if just a single rain drop falls on the pan it'll misfire... nice historical piece though

  • awesome,, how much for this pistol? im interesting,,,

  • @bluemarlin380 about $299 US

  • MAN YOU ARE A DANGEROUS DUD , 1 YOU PUT THE POUDER 2 THE BALL 3 YOU LOAD THE PRIMER THEN YOU SHOOT AT SOME POLITICIAN HA..JI..HA...

  • they dont take that long to reload

  • @METALLICARULES11 the magic of hollywood!

  • i would love to have one i would fire it every day

  • where can i get one? ebay? i dont care how much it costs I WANT ONE!

  • Nice but ur putting to much powder in the pan

  • nice, but you betetr clean your gun once a while.

  • What is this music, I like a lot you video!

  • NEAT!!!!!!

  • Regarding the people asking about the delay between the pan powder igniting and the main charge going, no, that's not the way a good flintlock works. With a touch hole located in the right spot, and of the proper diameter and thickness, and with real blackpowder (Pyrodex does NOT work well in a flint gun), a flintlock will fire nearly as fast as a cap or centerfire gun.

  • just out of curiosity, how accurate is that?

  • @TheBioshock2luver good enough at 7 yards for A zone hits on a man-sized target!

  • How much did this cost and are there any licences needed?

  • @drtrekwars $299 US and check local laws

  • @globalhawk777 ok thanks mate :)

  • that must be some large-grain bp youre using in the pan.

  • damn there is a huge delay between pulling the trigger and the gun actually firing. i know why there is this delay but on all other flintlock videos it has been much shorter than this :O

  • @TheWeeklyLawReports yes, true

  • i would reather have a bow and a bunch of arrows in those days. you would get a faster shot on your pray.

  • loading while gun is stretched?... risky. .)

  • lovely looking gun, i love those old 1700s early 1800s pistols

  • It seemed really quiet when it fired. Was the sound turned down, or is it really that much of a whisper on ignition?

  • @ChristiRich auto level on the mic, dulls the sound, unfortunately.

  • what type of lisence do u need

  • how much do they cost is $1500 a good price?

  • I just received mine from military heritage but when the weapon is not cocked the cock is sort of wobbly something that just happened, it didn't come that way but the screw on the cock is tight any solutions to what the problem is?

  • @ocarlson007 Military Heritage is a true "hit-or-miss" company. I bought my 2nd Model Brown Bess from them and had a maelstrom of issues (all of which I was able to fix). First, the finish they use on the weapons is paint...not real varnish/finish. If you use commercial gun cleaners, the paint will literally strip off like mine did. I had to pop the pins and revarnish it. The pins are awful and have burs. The frizzen screw stripped and had to have one custom made. The gun shoots fine but beware!

  • Must be pain in the ass for the boys trying to reload this in the middle of a battlefield.

  • i own't one of these!

  • Is it just me, or is this video oddly relaxing?

  • um, nice gun. but to make it fire fast every shot, you have to clean it.

  • I really didn't know it was that long of a delay after the trigger was pulled to the bullet exiting the gun. Really cool video, looked like a lot of fun firing that thing.

Would like to see how it deals with certain kinds of targets, and what the accuracy range is.

  • @123backinyerface good enough for consistent A-zone hits on man-sized target at 7 yds (meters)

  • the bras on the pistol look brand new ! how come?

and how much did it cost?

  • @MrJapaneseboy1111 its a new, very good copy!

  • imagine being in close quarters combat firefight with this gun... after every shot, gotta do a whole dance just to get another shot in there

  • @TheStarchaser09 i guess thats why there's a big brass butt!

  • Nice pre-21st century gat.

  • Did you drill the vent hole your self ? or did you pay someone to do it? and if you did it your self what did you use?

  • @jjrc1990 I recently got one of these myself and I did drill the hole. I used a 1/16th inch titanium metal bit and it was actually quite easy. You want the hole to be dead center of the pan, and if you are looking at side on, you only want to be able to see the top half of the hole. Not too high, not too low, that causes a delay from the pan to the main charge.

  • @Omega52 I think that might be my problem...

  • @jjrc1990 gunsmith

  • On that first shot you were ramming the ball down while you had primer powder in the pan. Not the order I was taught. I also wouldn't shoot the weapon over my stock of powder like you did in the last few shots.

    Just sayin'

  • @ahz123 thx I think it was the 'magic of hollywood' though

  • It doesn't actually sound very loud at all, which is surprising to me, I assumed older guns were louder than this.

  • @SARE128 Yes, the mic auto-level dulls the sound, unfortunately....a very satisfying bang, rather than a modern 'crack' of smokeless auto-pistol powder!

  • there much recoil or...

  • keep pressing 7

  • Out of curiousity, about how accurate is that gun?

  • whats the name of the song?

  • I like this video. It's just shooting the titular weapon. No blah blah, no bullcrap, no 'Let the bodies hit the floor' blaring the whole time, no inane text interrupting the action and no 17 year old rednecks spouting curses and acting like retards. Just load the gun and shoot it. It delivers everything a video like this should. I wish more shooting videos were like this.

  • @DoughboyJonesmk2 Thanks!!

  • @DoughboyJonesmk2 I assume you don't like cokeman2423

  • @ThroatSlitta I wasn't referring to any ONE person, I see every single one of those things all over the place.

  • @DoughboyJonesmk2 Agreed. "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" got old the second time I heard it. Now it's in 90% of the "badass redneck shooting" videos on YouTube.

  • @DoughboyJonesmk2 Thanks, a lot of fun making it

  • where did u get that :O i want one

  • @Midretalias1 it says it in the description

  • @JasonHurricane oh boy do i feel stupid now ._.

  • @Midretalias1 dont worry its a common mistake

  • I got my dragoon pistol recently. Thanks for the heads up on the grain. I load 50 grains thought 30 also worked great. Awesome toy. Too bad I can;t bring it with me to Israel. Oh well, when I visit Texas I get to enjoy it.

  • Name of the music pliss.

  • very nice pistol, where did you get it from?

  • AAARRR!!

  • It seems so weak!

Does it passes thru a cardboard or can it destroys an IPhone?

  • @ninjaspion your an idiot. That is all.

  • @Sharpe2007Dent I'm an idiot for being curious?

  • @ninjaspion Do you think people have thicker skin or something these days? It could kill a man 250 years ago, and it could kill a man today.

  • @Omega52 I agree. In a lot of instances muzzle loaders are renound for their power, which is why they're used in some instances for hunting.. it all depends on the powder and how it was loaded however :)

  • can that even kill

  • @Wh0datViiRuS Sure it can. You'll just never hit anything. Ever.

  • @Wh0datViiRuS You, just like ninjaspion, are an idiot.

  • how many grains are you using for the charge? And do you know the maximum and optimum charge?

  • @1czechit1 I'm using 60 Grains FFFg

  • @globalhawk777 have you tryed FFFFg.. looks like your firing time is a little slow in the pan

  • @deadeyetheclown read the description. he is using that. if he was using fffg, it would be faster

  • @deadeyetheclown It's a military lock which is slow anyway , if you want a flinter to work like a dueller then buy a Kuchenrauter , But military locks were designed to use course powder in the pan as well as the charge.

  • @Wad12br im still so used to civil war style fire arms .. was a reenactor for 5 years so i got used to the 53 enfeild

  • Is that the type of flintlock featured on the SEAL's Trident? If not do you know what model it is?

  • Hand over the ramrod! NOOOOOO!

  • Would I be correct in assuming that at the time of purchase this was a non-firing replica and therefore not a firearm and unregistered? If so that would be a pretty smart move on the part of Military Heritage; placing the responsibility of registration on the owner if/when they decide to have the vent hole drilled.

  • @Seamus449 Yes MH ship them as non-firing and it's up to the owner to check the legalities of drilling out the vent hole. If it's legal, any gunsmith can get it done for about US $30 ..

  • @globalhawk777 Whats the music called?

  • @globalhawk777 even though its just a replica when the gunsmith drills the hole its just ready to go? its not going to blow up because its only a replica?

  • @masurferkidd Yep, made from correct steel, ready to go once touchhole (legally) drilled out

  • flintlocks are cool but a pain to reload

  • What's the name of the song?

  • is that pyrodex i see you using id get real BP it would make it fire better its a bit slow

in the vid becuse of the pyrodex

  • thanks for posting this vid. Although I find your shooting style worrying (Ex Military trained), I love the old sort of shooting.

Very very tempted to order something like this myself as I make my own black powder, and it looks a hell of a lot more fun than just making pointless explosions!!

  • @24934637 Shooting style? Hmmm it's definitely not a Glock 17...

  • @globalhawk777 So true!! LOL, I think I;ve decided on a Ruger 'Old Army' as a main one, with a fun flintbeast as a second gun.

  • subsonic ?

  • @TheWeeklyLawReports blackpowder

  • wheres the boom?

  • Beautiful gun and good video,

your lock time is horrifically slow because you are using pyrodex, it and just about all other BP substitutes are unsuitable for flint locks regardless of the claims they make, I only use Goex gunpowder and get excellent results and much more power. Tried pyrodex premium in my flintlock once and it was terrible, Ultra bad hang fires at best and very many misfires.

  • This is the music from RIdley Scott's The Duelists. Nice work.

  • Truly a gentleman's pistol.

  • What is wrong with your priming powder? Has it gone wet?

  • The makes of the flintlock pistol couldnt have been to bright to make a handle like that. its hard to fire a pistol with your hand like that

  • wat charge were you using in that??

  • Why was the discharge time a little delayed?

And did you have trouble ramming at 0:14?

  • @De4dm4u5Rulez delayed due to too much powder in the pan and I needed to clean out the bore more frequently during shooting (also had 2 slightly different caliber 'balls' I was experimenting with).

  • @globalhawk777 how do you aim that thing it doesnt look like it has any sights on it

  • @onslombadong you dont aim it. YOu point it at your target and shoot.

  • @ILOVETHE1700s i see, well that would be fuckin hard, we shoot black powder matches at 25 meters but with 1858 remington percussion pistols they at least have some sort of sight

  • @De4dm4u5Rulez that's how it is for this gun, this gun is kinda like firing a firework instead of shooting a bullet, it's great to see such a history behind guns

  • @De4dm4u5Rulez I use flintlocks myself, usually theres a delay when the air is a damp and the powder absorbs some of the moisture, leading to a slightly lower combustion rate. Has no effect on the accuracy however.

  • @De4dm4u5Rulez Flintlocks have a natural delay when the flint hits the frizzon it takes a second for the powder to burn and reach the ignition point. You have to have balls or be really comfortably shooting them to have any accuracy. I prefer cap locks myself.

  • @De4dm4u5Rulez its a flint not a cartridge... basicly a small cannon

  • 62 caliber , nice !!!

  • "...an elegant weapon for a more civilized age." Certainly rings true...

  • they heavy enogh for a 13 yr old?

  • hahaha wow that's amazing but it would seem like a lifetime before the ball-bearing left the chamber!!! Is there any way for the firing to be quicker after you pull the trigger?

  • Real low recoil and a long delay between trigger tap and discharge...

  • thats freakin awsome. i have a traditions .50 cal percusion and it is all to much fun!

  • how accurate are they?

  • @TehReyMan Accurate enough! at 7 yards, all on chest sized target...But it's a tough trigger, and under stress, probably less consistent.

  • i love these guns but flintlocks misfire alot

  • fable 2and3 in real life thats pretty sweet by the way what song is this

  • is this the AAI-301 Model 1780 British Sea Service Pistol from track of the wolf?

can you upload this video without musice plz? i would like to hear it fire.

  • @K3N7CR1P3 these guns actually arent supposed to be loud theyre meant for use of european pirates, nobles, and duelists not loud war guns but they can plus longer barrels on old style guns can make it quieter since it restricts firing after all flintlock pistol only shoot within a 40 pace radius

  • Flintlocks are a work of art!

I'm glad they're still legal in the UK :) (Pistol sized)

  • may I ask the caliber on this fine piece?

  • @skintothebone88 Yep, it's .62Cal and shoots .60 ball very well with a lubricated patch...or a .58 with a couple of lubed patches...

  • Holy Black is the only thing for flinters. If you replace the main charge with 2F musket powder with 4F pan powder your ignition will be much faster. Pyrodex is designed for the modern in-lines and such.

  • what are you using, black powder does not hangfire for that long, but if you are using black powder i suggest you put less in the pan, as it will take longer to fire the more you have, have just enough to set the main charge

  • Did you have a gunsmith drill the vent hole or did you do it yourself?

  • @LordVilhelm Gunsmith! although you could do it yourself, but the steel is pretty tough stuff!

  • @globalhawk777 The thoughness of the steel is not a problem for me since i am a blacksmith with access to a major workshop. The only problem is that it´s not legal and the last thing i need is problem with the law, heh.

  • @LordVilhelm Would you possibly happen to know how big the vent hole is exactly?

  • small strokes!! small trokes!!! lol

  • thats absolutely awesome!
